二、阅读理解[2025天水改编]
Learning about AI
▲
AI works by using algorithms(算法), or step-by-step instructions,
to help computers understand and work with information. For example,
if you wanted to teach a computer to know different types of fruits,
you would give it a lot of pictures of fruits and tell it which ones are
apples, bananas, and so on. The computer would then use this
information to find out what new fruits are. This process is called
“machine learning”.
7
What can AI be used for?
AI is already being used in many different areas. For example, AI
can be used to:
●diagnose and treat diseases;
●drive self-driving cars;
●recommend movies and TV shows according to your viewing history;
●help teachers give marks to papers.

The Future of AI
In the future, AI may completely change many parts of our lives
and help us solve some of the world's biggest problems. However, it's
also important to remember that AI is just a tool, and it's up to us to
decide how we use it. With responsible and ethical(合乎道德的) use,
AI can make the world a better place for everyone!

Data(数据) collection is everywhere.#1
However, some companies collect personal information for selling
or telecommunication fraud(电信诈骗). They break the law. China
Consumers Association(消费者协会) once did a survey of 5,458 people
on personal information leak(泄露) in 2021. About 85 percent of people
13
said they had experienced leaks from their smartphones. Most said they
got unwanted calls or text messages.
The Personal Information Protection Law has come into effect in
China to deal with such problems. It is the first law on personal data
protection. It says that a person's name, date of birth, ID number,
address and phone number are all personal information, no matter they
are in the electronic or other forms.
Some kinds of personal information are seen as “sensitive”(敏感的).
They include fingerprints, faces, medical health and financial
accounts(金融账户).
According to the law, collecting, using and keeping personal
information will be strictly managed. One key rule is that users should
know and agree with giving away their personal information. The rules
are even stricter for sensitive information. For example, if companies
want the personal information of a teenager, the parents need to know
and say yes first.#1.4
