Passage 1
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I worked with a group of junior students. They could only read some materials at the third-grade level. I found it difficult to teach them, and I often felt helpless in trying to tutor (辅导) these kids. They were absent from school every now and then. I tutored them in small groups, but the results were not encouraging.
There was another problem — almost no reading materials were suitable for my students at such a low level. They wanted to read about relationships, dating, clothes and cars, not materials like “Run, Spot, run! See the ball.” The kids thought my materials were too babyish. Unfortunately, more interesting materials were too difficult for them to understand. One boy said, “Hey, man, this material is boring. And it’s foolish, too! Why do we get to read this junk (无用的东西)?”
One day, an idea suddenly came into my mind: I could raise some money to start a tutoring project. We didn’t get a lot of money, but it was enough for the project.
Nearby was a primary school. The third-grade students needed help with reading. I “hired” my students as reading tutors. I promised to pay anyone who’d help with those younger children. “You’ve got to know, that if you don’t show up, you won’t get paid. As a tutor, if you don’t work with care, it will be very disappointing to a young child. And I am sure every one of you will make a good tutor.”

Passage 2
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Mrs Parks finished one of her lessons, and although she had not performed any physical activity, she was out of breath. A sudden burning stomachache started, but she hoped her students wouldn’t notice.
“You look pale, Mrs Parks. Are you all right?” a kid, Tony, asked. Mrs Parks started nodding, trying to explain everything was all right. But the words wouldn’t come out. She became unconscious and fell down in front of her class, and the classroom erupted (爆发) in panic. Someone screamed, “Call 911!” Two minutes later, ambulance alarms rang outside. Doctors and nurses rushed in with a stretcher (担架). As they carried Mrs. Parks away, Tony saw tears on his classmate Lucy’s face.
At the hospital, the doctor said Mrs. Parks needed heart surgery. “It’s urgent, and the cost is very high,” he said. Tony, waiting outside the office, heard the word “expensive.” That night, he couldn’t sleep. How can we help? He thought.
The next morning, Tony stood in front of the class. “Mrs. Parks needs money for her surgery (手术). Let’s do something!” Lucy suggested writing cards, but Tony shook his head. “Cards are nice, but they won’t pay hospital bills. " Then he remembered his cousin Lisa, a college student who loved computers.
During lunch break, Tony called Lisa. “Can you make a donation website?” he asked. Lisa agreed immediately. By dinner time, the website was ready. It had a photo of Mrs. Parks laughing with students and a big red button saying “DONATE NOW.” Tony wrote a simple message: Mrs. Parks is the best teacher. Please help her get better!

Passage 3
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
“My name is Julie Hanson. I am excited to be back in school. I have two new cats, and you are all invited to see them after school!” Julie said to the 2nd grade class when it was her turn to introduce herself. Julie knew she was outgoing (外向的) and sometimes loud. With her bright red, curly (卷曲) hair and mismatched socks, Julie appeared a little frightening to the shy kids. She couldn’t help it! She loved school, her friends, and being the centre of attention. Julie’s mum said she attracted friends like fruit flies to apple juice.
Mrs. Diaz, the teacher, smiled and thanked Julie for sharing. Mrs. Diaz then introduced a new kid named Andy Collins. When he spoke, he was quiet and didn’t say much. Julie thought she had seen him at breakfast. He had been sitting alone and not eating. Mrs. Diaz then partnered him with Eric as his “buddy” for the day. After class, Julie had forgotten all about Andy. She played four square, swung across the monkey bars twice, and shot a hoop (铁环) that didn’t make the basket. “I love being back at school,” later thought Julie as she took her seat and got ready to work on maths.
At lunchtime, Julie noticed that Andy was sitting with Eric and his friends but not talking to anyone. “He looks lonely, ” thought Julie, as she ate up her pizza, drank her milk, and went outside to play hide-and-seek with a group that was already playing.
When the bell rang to go home for the day, Julie walked up to Mrs. Diaz and gave her a big hug. “Thank you for a great first day! ” Julie said.
“I’ll see you tomorrow! ” Mrs. Diaz told her. She smiled to herself about her outgoing student.

话题2 亲子关系
Passage 1
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
It was a normal Wednesday. I had just got home from work and was getting dinner ready when suddenly I felt there was something wrong with my grandmother. I knew that I needed to call her immediately.
I called her number quickly and waited with a growing sense of worry as she did not answer. That was extremely unusual because she always answered and her phone was just put by her side. “Pick up! Pick up!” I called again and again, still getting no answer. I began to feel more worried. She had no car, lived alone and could only take short walks around her neighborhood.
I knew she needed help. I didn’t know how I knew; I just did. I called my sister and father, telling them what I thought and that we needed to drive one state over to my grandmother’s house to check on her.
I picked them up and headed for my grandmother’s house. “She’s probably at church,” my father kept saying. “Maybe she’s sleeping,” my sister cut in, but I just drove the car faster. Two hours later, we pulled into my grandmother’s driveway.
Her door was completely closed and the curtains (窗帘)were drawn. No light could be seen inside. My sister pressed the doorbell, but there was no answer inside. Sensing I was right at that moment, my father began to break the locked front door while I was checking the back door. However, it was locked too. Finally, we called a worker to open the door.

Passage 2
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I always had a tough time in school. My father had put it best: “Some kids are good in school, and some aren’t. You’re just one of the kids who isn’t.” But I wasn’t satisfied with that answer.
Ever since the first day of school, it had been drilled into my brain that I must work for academic success. Our principal told us many times about striving for greatness.
But school wasn’t the worst of my troubles; my time at home had the greatest effect on me. Whether it was the glowing reports on my brothers, or even the A’s and B’s on their report cards, I felt I wasn’t as good. That I was inferior.
By fourth grade, my self-confidence had dropped considerably and I became depressed. As I only had a couple of friends, and I wasn’t even sure if they liked me, I had no one to talk to. I would lie awake at night and wonder if my life had some meaning. Weren’t my brothers embarrassed by me? Did they see me as the failure of the family? The black sheep? Tears would soak my pillow.
In high school, without special education, I had to find new ways to help myself do better in school. But the pain from the past six years had caught up with me, and I hated studying. I had had enough failure in my life. Why add more salt to the wound?
One night during my sophomore year, I was working with my math teacher. I just wasn’t getting it, and it had been going on like that for a few weeks. My teacher finally had it, and started shouting at me in front of the entire crowd of kids. “How dumb can you be? We’ve been reviewing the same four math steps for three weeks now. If you don’t start shaping up soon, you’ll end up being a failure.” It was the first time that someone had said “You’re a failure” right to my face.

Passage 3
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
A prom(毕业舞会) is an event that every student is dreaming of. And if they’re not dreaming of it, they’ re certainly looking forward to it. It’s the young boys’ and girls’ chance to spend a beautiful night with their schoolmates and friends, an opportunity to have fun, dance, and enjoy themselves before their school years come to an end.
For young Dakota Wollan, the prom night was not something he couldn’t wait for. In fact, he had no idea who to ask to go with him to the special event.
When Dakota told his parents that he didn’t have anyone in mind, his dad had an idea. He figured, since Dakota’s great-grandma Madeline had never been to a prom, it would be fun to share this experience with her great-grandson.
When Dakota heard the suggestion, he felt it would be an honor and unforgettable night for them both to take his beloved great-grandma! So, he decided to ask his great-grandma with a proper promposal (舞会邀约). “I have this old truck she gave me. It’s a 1985 truck she handed down to me and I got it running again. So, I took that truck and made a sign,” he recalled. When the 92-year-old woman saw the sign, she was shocked. She couldn’t find a reason why a young man would want to spend such a special night with an elderly lady.
But she said “yes”. After all, Dakota had made it clear that if she didn’t go, he wouldn’t go either. So, she really didn’t have an option.
Madeline explained that she only attended high school for one year and a half, because her father got sick and she had to help on the farm. In fact, she didn’t even remember if there was such a thing back at her time. So, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to find out what this prom is all about.

Passage 1

Sarah and Mia’s friendship blossomed the moment they met each other in the school art club. Their friendship was a beautiful combination of creativity and understanding. They spent countless hours together, painting, drawing, and sharing their dreams of becoming famous artists one day.
However, a school-wide art exhibition (展览) was approaching, threatening to put their friendship to a tough test. This exhibition was no ordinary event. It was a grand showcase, and the winning artworks would be exhibited at the well-known local art gallery for an entire month. Given their extraordinary talent, both Sarah and Mia were determined to win.
As the preparations for the exhibition began, they started to drift apart (渐行渐远). Sarah began to notice that Mia was becoming increasingly secretive. Mia would lock herself in her room for hours on end, leaving Sarah in the dark about her creative process. Whenever Sarah asked to see her work in progress, Mia would find an excuse to refuse. This behavior left Sarah feeling deeply hurt. She had always been an open book with Mia, sharing every sketch, every raw idea, believing that their friendship was based on trust and openness.
On the day of handing in the artworks, the tension reached its peak (顶峰). Sarah met Mia in the art room. “Why have you been acting so strange? We used to share everything, but now you’re shutting me out!” Sarah exclaimed, her voice filled with hurt. Mia looked away, avoiding Sarah’s eyes. “I just ... I want to win this so badly. I thought if I worked alone, I’d have a better chance, ” she mumbled. Just then, the art teacher walked in, ready to collect the artworks, and the situation seemed tenser than ever.

Passage 2
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I remember the first time I met Roy. He was standing in the center of a group of boys, talking and laughing. He was a cute boy known in the class for his kindness and generosity. My name is Daniel, a new boy in the class. Our whole family had moved from the north of England because of my father being offered a job here. I lost all my old friends and felt lonely at my new school.
Most students in my new class weren't very interested in a shy new boy. Roy was one of the few people who were kind to me. He often invited me to join his particular group, and as a result, I started getting to know people. Roy and I became good friends. We trusted each other and we could talk about personal matters, things that were important to us.
But just a year ago, Roy's father was knocked over by a car, who died a few days later. His family had to move to a much smaller house in order to manage financially. Roy, who had always been very close to his father, changed completely, becoming silent and moody. He had always been a clever, hard-working student but now he seemed to lose all interest in his work. He started losing friends. These days, Roy and I see each other from time to time, but we're no longer close.
Last week our school had a big fair in order to raise money for a charity. It was very successful and by the end of the day, we had made about £500. Our class teacher, Mr. White, came and chatted to a group of us that included Roy, and held up a box for us to see. “There's £500 in here," he said with a smile.
Having left something in the classroom, I went inside to get it, and found Roy holding a wallet in his hand. Seeing me, he walked out without saying a word. The next morning, we were told that the money had been stolen. Mr. White had left the box in the classroom for a few minutes, but when he came back it had disappeared.
This weekend morning, having thought about the situation for a while, I decided to ask Roy about the theft and went to see him. Roy was out, and I went upstairs to his bedroom to wait for him. It was a cold day and his jacket was lying on the back of a chair. I put it on and put my hands in the pockets. I could feel a lot of paper notes and I pulled them out.
It looked as if there was about £500 there. I was so surprised that I just stood there, holding the notes in my hands. At that moment, the door swung open, and Roy walked in.

Passage 3
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
On my fortieth birthday, I moved into my new home. In doing so, I also moved into a new neighborhood. Over the last years, I've made friends with everybody in my last neighborhood. However, I had difficulty getting on with my new next-door neighbor.
On most days, we had a friendly relationship and sometimes we were able to give each other a hand. The conflicts (冲突) came around the hunting season. I kept cows on my land and my neighbor lived by hunting. One day, my neighbor came knocking at my door, saying that he had injured a deer that then ran onto my land and asking if he could follow and finish it, and I refused. Later, I searched for the deer for several hours but found no signs of any deer.
Certainly, it caused poor relations between us. When my neighbor did kill a deer, he hung it behind his house within a few feet of my house. For days as I drove in and out, there was that deer. I knew they needed the meat; it was part of their income (收入), but the hanging deer really annoyed me. In the neighborhood I was one of the few who didn't back hunting.
For more profit, my neighbor also cut wood. He sold some for money, and used some to heat his home. One cold winter day, I asked him the price of his firewood and ordered some. The next day it was delivered. Although it looked big, it did not last as long as I expected, so I ordered some more. I was worried this could get expensive.
One day, as I drove down my path, he waved to me and said he had just cut some wood, but it was of poor quality and he needed some space. He said he would give it to me for free. I happily accepted this gift. Over time, he must have discovered that our need was great, for every time he had extra wood, we would have it. I came to appreciate his helpfulness, trust and kindness.

话题4运动与健康
Passage 1
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
How to keep healthy
Ten years ago I used to be very healthy. I went to work by bike and I got a lot of exercise at the weekend. I played tennis a lot and went for long walks. In those days, I didn’t earn very much. I had a job in an office which wasn’t very good, but I had a lot of time to do the things I enjoyed.
Then, about 8 years ago, I got a much better job. The pay was better. But the hours were a lot longer. I bought a car and drove to work every day, and began to take people out to lunch. And I began to be overweight, too. I stopped playing tennis and going for long walks at the weekend, because I just didn’t have any time for things like that any more. There was a lot of stress in a job like mine; perhaps that was why I started drinking more than I used to. For example, I used to have only half a glass of whisky when I got home, and then I started filling the glass to the top. Then I had another glass and then another. I started smoking a lot, too. I never used to smoke at all.
Two months ago I had a heart attack. At first I just couldn’t believe it. “I’m too young and I want to keep healthier,” I said. Luckily it wasn’t very serious. I was in hospital for a few days and they did a lot of tests. The doctor advised me to stop smoking and to eat less. He told me to do a lot of other things. For example, he advised me to work less and get more exercise. But I just haven’t any time! My job takes everything out of me!
Sometimes I wonder if I should get another job. Perhaps I could do something that I used to do. But if I do that, I won’t earn much. I have a family to support. I just don’t know what I should do.

Later I knew one person who really believed in keeping fit.

Passage 2
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Already Perfect
Each one of us struggles with self-worth to some degree. I spent much of my time attempting to achieve perfection in every aspect of my life. What I didn’t realize was that in my efforts to be perfect, I almost lost my life.
During my childhood, I wanted everyone’s praise and acceptance. After I graduated from high school, my struggles with self-worth increased. I began to put pressure on myself to succeed in the adult world. Meanwhile, I wasn’t feeling very confident and successful. I started to believe that my difficulties and “failures” in life were caused by my weight. I had always been a thin-to-average sized person. Suddenly, I was convinced that I was overweight. In my mind, I was FAT!
Slowly, I began to control my food by trying to diet, but nothing seemed to work. I continued to reduce what I ate each day and told myself that I would succeed, and in turn, I felt good about myself.
People around me began to notice my weight loss. At first, they weren’t alarmed; maybe some were even envious. But then the comments showed some concern. “You’re losing too much weight.” “Elisa, you’re so thin.” “You look sick.” “You’ll die if you keep this up.” All their words only made me believe that I was on the right path, getting closer to “perfection.”
My poor nutrition (营养) began to cause me to lose sleep. I found it hard to concentrate on my work or to focus on anything for a long time. I was pushing myself harder and harder at the gym, struggling to burn fat. My parents tried to stop me but I disagreed that I had a problem. None of my clothes fit, and it was hard to buy any, since I had become too thin!

1.续写词数应为 150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Then one night, I couldn’t sleep again, and my heart beat its way out of my chest.

Passage 3
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. The doctors didn't hold too much hope for their recovery. “What both of them need is a miracle,” they said. One man's bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. The companionship grew stronger as time went by.
Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. These periods gave him something to hold on to while he went through the pain of treatment.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm among flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the amazing scenes. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window described it with vivid words.

话题5科学与技术
Passage 1
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落的开头续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
This summer vacation has nearly come to an end, but I have hardly finished reading any useful books or updated any satisfactory writings. With an empty head and a guilty feeling, I owe this to my involuntary addition to the mobile phone.
This is not because I have more free time and rely on my MP as a time-killer. On the contrary, I am occupied by various chores and time left at my will is only pieces of hours. I give up doing serious and creative things during these fragments of hours, making excuses for myself: “I am tired so I need to do something easy and relaxing...” But, sticking my face to the MP turns out to be by no means relaxing. My vision becomes more unclear and precious time is wasted.
The prime culprit(元凶) should be WeChat: Being quick-responsive to any message sent to me is a bad habit; Being afraid of losing track of what all my “friends” are doing comes at a price; The colorful ads of “daigou” sacks(洗劫) not only my purse... The other two accomplices (共犯) that l need to put in jail at once are Taobao and Koala (though I know I can’t bear to do that!)
I have to admit that a lot of apps provide much convenience to my life, such as dictionaries, maps, music, e-books and apps for stock dealing, for taxi booking, for ticket and hotel booking, for picture processing etc. The side effect is that I am so buried in these attractive apps that I just can’t put my MP down, close my eyes for a while and think what my priority is.
注意:
1. 续写内容应为150词左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
At night, I happily get onto my bed with a book in my hand, hoping to enjoy some “quality” time by myself.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Now I am looking at the desktop of my mobile phone, full of apps.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Passage 2
阅读下面材料,割据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
“Surprise!” was the first thing I heard when I opened the door. My family and friends were all smiling at me. There were colorful balloons all over the house, a big poster saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY'', and of course a cake with 12 candles. It was a wonderful feeling. I knew that I had finally turned twelve and I might possibly get the thing I wanted most.
I saw my mom and dad coming towards me with a small box which seemed to be a birthday present. When I opened the box, I couldn't believe my eyes. I had really gotten a mobile phone! Throwing myself into their arms, I let out a cry of joy, “Thank you! I love you guys!”
“You're welcome. We knew this was going to make you happy but we didn't only get you this because you turned twelve, but also because you are doing well in school. We expect you to keep getting good grades."
“Of course I will." I said confidently.
As soon as I got to school the next morning, I was showing off my phone and asking everyone for their number. It was cool how I got so many contacts on the first day.
It felt like I didn't even exist in that class anymore. I wouldn't pay much attention to the teachers because I was too busy on my phone. However, I didn't get caught using it.
I am pretty sure that the teacher did notice that I stopped paying attention to her because a week later we took a test and I failed. What was worse, my mom had to sign the test.
It was hard to show my mom the test. She was used to seeing A's and B's on my tests. Finally, I showed it to her, and she couldn't believe it. She was angry but most of all, she was disappointed.

【答案】 All my students agreed to have a try. They prepared lessons carefully, selecting simple stories and designing interesting activities. When tutoring, they were patient and enthusiastic, using vivid gestures and humorous language to explain reading content. Gradually, they found the joy of teaching. One girl even said, “I didn’t expect helping others to be so much fun!” They began to understand the importance of reading and learning, and their attitudes towards study changed significantly.
As expected, the results were satisfying. The younger students’ reading abilities improved remarkably, and they developed a strong interest in reading. My students, who used to dislike studying, became more motivated. They not only enhanced their own reading skills while tutoring but also gained self-confidence. They were no longer absent-minded in class. The tutoring project not only bridged the reading gap between the two groups of students but also inspired a positive learning atmosphere, showing that sometimes a new approach can bring unexpected good results.
Passage 2
【答案】The donation website was shared throughout the school quickly. Everyone started donating. What surprised everyone was how many people Mrs Parks had truly taught and helped throughout the years. A great amount of money was raised in no time. And soon people started sharing stories about how Mrs Parks helped them. Needless to say, there is more than enough money to pay for her medical expenses and some at-home care. She placed the rest in a fund to keep helping her future students.
Mrs Parks was back at school two months later. The children cried, clapped, and jumped in delight. “I’m just glad you think of me as family, Tony,” Mrs Parks smiled at him. “We all do. You’re our family, and everyone loves you,” another student added. Mrs Parks could only nod and press her lips together to avoid crying. “Thank you” was all she could say. She understands that being a good teacher involves more than passing knowledge on to others, and that she was kind to her students, so her selflessness was repaid during an emergency.
Passage 3
【答案】 The next morning, Julie saw that Andy was by himself at breakfast again. She remembered how lonely he looked yesterday and decided to do something. She took her tray and walked over to Andy. “Hi, Andy! Mind if I sit here?” she asked with a big smile. Andy looked up, a bit surprised, but nodded shyly. Julie started chatting about all the fun things they could do at school, like playing on the playground and doing art projects. Andy listened, a small smile slowly forming on his face. She introduced Andy to her other friends, and they all greeted him warmly.
Julie smiled, feeling good helping Andy make friends. As the days went by, Andy became more and more comfortable in the class. He started participating in games and conversations. Julie was happy to see the change in Andy. One day, Andy even initiated a conversation with some other kids during recess. Julie felt a sense of pride. She realized that a simple act of kindness could make a big difference. From then on, Julie continued to be friendly and inclusive, always looking out for those who seemed lonely. And Andy was no longer the shy, lonely boy.

Passage 1
【答案】My poor grandmother lay on the floor of her dining room, her shoulder clearly broken. “You got my call?” she asked in a low voice. Then she began to cry. I held her hand and lay on the floor beside her when my sister called 911 and my father started to clean up the broken glass. My grandmother was unable to tell me what had happened, but I guessed it was caused by an overturned chair. I felt guilty for leaving her lying painfully there for hours, so I held her hand tightly until the doctors arrived.
My grandmother was rushed to hospital and got some treatment. I sat by my grandmother’s bedside, knowing she was in good condition but feeling terrible over the whole situation. I didn’t want to leave her. She took my hand and said, “I was calling you to come over and help me. Thank God you picked up.” I stared at her blankly for a moment and secretly took out my phone to check. There were no incoming calls from her, only outgoing. I knew it was a call from my grandmother’s heart and I heard that.
Passage 2
【答案】
I stormed out of the room and went back home, throwing myself into my mother’s arms. Tears streaming down my face, I sobbed out what had happened in the math class and my long-pent-up feelings of being a failure. “Mom, am I really that stupid? Will I always be a failure?” I asked weakly. My mother gently stroked my back and said softly, “My dear, everyone has their own pace and strengths. Just because you find math difficult doesn’t mean you’re a failure. You’re kind-hearted, helpful, and have a lot of other good qualities. Don’t let one teacher’s words define you.” She held me tightly and told me that she believed in me and that I could succeed as long as I didn’t give up.
My mother’s words cheered me up and I decided to make a new beginning. I started to face my studies with a positive attitude. For math, which I was weak in, I asked my teacher for extra help after class and spent more time doing exercises. I also found some learning methods that suited me, such as making study plans and summarizing knowledge points. In the process, I encountered many difficulties, but whenever I wanted to give up, I would think of my mother’s words. Slowly, I began to make progress. My grades in other subjects also improved. More importantly, I regained my self-confidence and realized that I was not a failure. I was just on my own path to growth.
Passage 3
【答案】范文
Eventually, the big day came and the pair were ready to have the time of their lives. Dakota helped his great-grandma into his restored 1985 truck, her eyes sparkling with excitement. As they arrived at the hall, students turned to stare, whispers spreading through the crowd. But soon, their curiosity turned into admiration. The music began, and Dakota gently took Madeline’s hand, guiding her to the dance floor. Though her steps were slow, her laughter filled the room. Other students joined them, forming a circle to cheer for the extraordinary partners. Tears welled up in Madeline’s eyes as she whispered, “I never imagined I’d experience something so magical.” The touching scene was quietly filmed.
Such an inspiring moment was posted on social networking sites. The video of Dakota and Madeline dancing spread like wildfire overnight, with millions praising the teen’s kindness. News outlets interviewed the family, and Madeline became a local heroine. “This isn’t just about prom,” Dakota said in an interview. “It’s about honoring those who missed their chances to shine.” The school later announced a new tradition: inviting senior citizens to proms. Years later, Madeline’s prom photo still sat proudly on her dresser, a reminder that love goes beyond generations — and that it’s never too late to create memories.

Passage 1
【答案】 The art teacher, sensing the thick tension, asked them to step into her office. She gently closed the door and said, “I see two talented artists who have forgotten why they started creating art together.” She suggested they look at each other's work before submitting. Unwillingly, Mia showed her painting — a beautiful but lonely tree standing in an empty field. Sarah’s eyes filled with tears as she realized Mia had been struggling with self-doubt. “I thought I wasn’t good enough,” Mia confessed. Sarah immediately hugged her friend, showing her own painting - the same tree, but surrounded by colorful flowers. "We complete each other’s painting," Sarah whispered.
As they worked side by side, Sarah felt comfort and joy welling up inside her. They decided to combine their paintings into one masterpiece. Sarah added vibrant flowers around Mia’s tree, while Mia painted delicate birds flying towards the blossoms. Their styles blended perfectly, creating a harmony that could not exist with either of their efforts. When the exhibition opened, their joint work titled “Friendship Blossoms” became the most talked-about piece. Though they didn’t win first prize, something more important happened — the art teacher announced a new “Best Collaboration” award just for them. As they stood proudly by their painting, Mia squeezed Sarah’s hand and said, “This is worth more than any prize.” Sarah smiled, knowing their friendship was the true work of art.
Passage 2
【答案】续写范文:
Seeing me stand there with the money in my hand, Roy felt panicked. I became very angry, asking him if it was the money that we raised last week. He went bright red, admitting that he had stolen it in a low voice. I slowly calmed down and hugged him, telling him that I would be willing to help him overcome his difficulty. He wept and then we had a sincere talk face to face. At last we agreed to return the money.
We went to the headteacher, Mr White, together. In the teacher’s office, Roy returned the money to Mr White, and guaranteed not to do such things again. Though Mr White was so surprised that he couldn’t believe his eyes, he praised him for his courage and correction and told him if he had difficulty with finance he would be ready to help him. Roy was moved to tears. After that, we became good friends again. We trusted each other and shared sorrow and happiness together.
Passage 3
【答案】One possible version:
Then one day I got an idea. "Since my neighbor offered to give me his firewood for free as a gift, why don't I give him my milk in return?" I said to myself. That night I brought some milk to his house. Seeing his confused look, I said, "This milk is what we have left after we sold it." His eyes sparkled with gratitude and gave me a big hug. Then I began to deliver milk to his house and he continued to provide firewood for me regularly.
In the daily exchange with my neighbor, we became close. From this experience I get to realize a good neighbor is better than a brother far off. Neighbors should get on well with each other, despite the fact that it is unavoidable for neighbors to come into conflict with each other sometimes. We just need to keep in mind that after the conflict, taking action to repair the gap is a great way.
话题4 运动与健康
Passage 1
【答案】One possible version:
Later, I knew one person who really believed in keeping fit. She looked at least 10 years younger. She told me her story. Two years ago, she was overweight because she used to smoke a lot about 30 cigarettes a day, she never got any exercise and she often stayed at home all day. She never went out, except for shopping. If she had to go out, she only drove a car instead of walking. One day she looked at herself in the mirror, thinking that she was too fat.
But now her story has completely changed the way I live. I’ve stopped eating meat and have started eating far more fresh vegetables. At first my husband and daughter didn’t like the new food. I sold my car and bought a bike. What’s more, I’ve started doing yoga exercise at the weekend. With my encouragement, my husband often goes cycling with me now and my daughter jogs with me in the evening. We have lost weight and we are much healthier than we used to be.
Passage 2
【答案】Then one night, I couldn’t sleep again, and my heart beat its way out of my chest. I tried to relax, but I couldn’t. The beating became so rapid and so strong that I could no longer breathe. Really scared and ill, I felt I was going to die. Knowing that help was needed, I stood up, went towards the door, and immediately fell down, letting out a cry of pain. Awakened by the unusual sound, my parents came in to see what had happened. Shocked and worried, they rushed me to the hospital. It took doctors and nurses several hours to bring me back to life.
When I lay on the hospital bed, I began to rethink what I did to my body. I decided to stop my foolish way of losing weight and pursuing perfection. Instead, I must be confident of myself and stay committed to being healthy. I now use my intelligence, talents and acts of kindness to express myself. This is true beauty, and it has nothing to do with the size of my body. With my experience of trying to be “perfect” on the outside, I had forgotten who I was on the inside. What I know now is that we are — each and every one of us — already perfect.
Passage 3
【答案】One morning, the nurse found the man by the window lying lifelessly on the bed. He had died peacefully in his sleep. She was sad and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. And the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He supported himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.
The man was greatly surprised at what he saw when he took his first look out of the window. It faced a blank wall. Later the man asked the nurse why his roommate described such wonderful things. The nurse responded that the man was blind and perhaps he described the beautiful scene outside the window just to encourage him. There is great happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.

Passage 1
【答案】范文
At night, I happily get onto my bed with a book in my hand, hoping to enjoy some “quality” time by myself. But before I know it, I’ve been scrolling through my phone for an hour. The moment I open the app, I’m sucked into a virtual world. I feel like I’m being controlled by my phone, like a puppet on a string. I don’t want to admit it, but I’m addicted to my phone.
Now I am looking at the desktop of my mobile phone, full of apps. I feel like I’m drowning in a sea of information. I can’t help but feel anxious, like there’s something missing in my life. I know I need to do something, but I don’t know where to start. So, I decide to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. I realize that my life is not just about my phone. There are so many other things that are more important, like my family, my friends, and my health. I decide to make a change. I start by setting limits on how much time I spend on my phone each day. I also try to focus more on real-life interactions and activities.
Passage 2
【答案】
Realizing the reason for my failure, my parents started to dislike the fact that I had a phone. They said they had noticed that I never paid attention to them. It was like I had my own little world. So they thought we didn't communicate as much with my phone. They regretted having given me a phone, which made me ignore the family and study.
Then I started to wonder if I was wrong. A week later I tried going a whole day without a phone and it didn’t go that badly. I had so much fun because I was actually spending time with my family and paying attention to them. From that day, I had a different opinion towards phones. Phones really take you away from the rest of the world. I' m not saying that phones are bad and not to use them, but you do have to spare some time to spend with your family and not get stuck with your phone all day.

Passage 1
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

In the daily exchange with my neighbor, we became close.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

话题4运动与健康

Paragraph 1:
Realizing the reason for my failure, my parents started to dislike the fact that I had a phone.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2:
Then I started to wonder if I was wrong.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
