Have you ever enjoyed the pleasure of planting? It was a
Tuesday morning. The sun was shining brightly through the
classroom windows. Our teacher walked into the classroom with
a big smile on her face. She started talking about a special
project. We all became quiet at once and listened carefully. She
said we would build a garden in the schoolyard. Each of us
would have a small area to plant flowers.

I was really happy. I had never planted flowers before. It
sounded like a lot of fun. After school, I couldn’t wait to go
home. I walked quickly, thinking about what flowers to plant all
the way. When I got home, I found my mom in the kitchen. I
told her about the project. She thought about it for a moment
and then gave me some sunflower seeds. She said, “Haste
makes waste. You must take things step by step.”
The next day, I took the seeds to school. When I got to
my small area in the schoolyard, I started to dig the soil. It
was a bit hard. Just then, some of my classmates came over.
They said they would help me. And we worked together. While
digging, we talked about our favorite flowers. After we planted
the seeds, we watered them carefully. Finally, our teacher taught
us how to protect the plants from pests and how to make sure
they got enough sunlight and water.
Days passed. Every day, we went to check our little garden.
We were all looking forward to seeing the blooms. Finally, the
sunflowers came out. They were so beautiful with their big
yellow faces. Looking at the flowers, I felt really excited. I
learned that working together and being patient can bring
wonderful outcomes.#4

The Long-spout(壶嘴) Teapot Tea Art is one of China’s
intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产). Its history dates

traditional tea service could not meet the need, so the Long-
spout Teapot Tea Art came into being.
The long-spout pot is named for the length of its spout.
This tea set is mostly made of copper(铜). There are also
other materials. The length of the spout is usually about three
feet. This makes the tea artists keep a certain space distance
(距离) with the guests during the performance, which
increases the visual(视觉的) effect of the performance.
The performance can be seen as a wonderful visual
enjoyment. Before each performance, it is necessary to clean the
long-spout pot, and prepare the tea sets and tea leaves. When
everything is ready, the performer first puts the tea leaves into
the teacup, and then raises the long-spout pot high, and pours
hot water into the teacup slowly. At this time, the performer
needs to control the speed and direction of the water. They will
slowly pour the tea into the drinker’s cup, and then put down
the long-spout pot. Finally, the performer bows to the audience
(观众) and ends the performance.
In short, the Long-spout Teapot Tea Art is the treasure of
Chinese tea culture. It is not only a kind of tea art performance,
