Tom, Lee and Alice are sharing their learning experience online.
Theme: My learning experience
Alice
Last updated: 2 May
I used to feel nervous about having trouble doing my homework. To fix it, I tried out the“PomodoroTechnique”. Pomodoro is the Italian word for tomato. I used this technique to divide my homework into parts and set a 25-minute timer for each part. After each part, I took a short 5-minute one. After four parts, I took a longer break, about a quarter. Surprisingly, I finished my homework in less time.
Lee

One of my ways of remembering what
I’ve learned is to make picture stories. For example, to remind me of the word“playful” I learned yesterday, I made a picture story for it: In the cold Arctic, there is a PLAYFUL polar bear named Ben. He had an excellent skiing skill.
Experts say that our brains work well with pictures.
Tom

Have you ever found it difficult to understand a concept(概念)? Well, I find it turns out to be much easier when I draw it out. Last week, my geography teacher gave us a lesson about the rotation and revolution of the Earth. To understand the difference between them, I drew a picture. It’s really clear, isn’t it? Have a try!
16. What is the“Pomodoro Technique” according to Alice?
A. Eating tomatoes while studying. B. Taking a break after studying for an hour.
C. Doing homework without stopping. D. Dividing study time into parts with breaks.
17. Why did Lee make a picture story about a polar bear?
A. To remember a new word. B. To show his drawing skills.
C. To explain how polar bears ski. D. To describe his trip to the Arctic.
18. How does Tom suggest learning?
A. Ask teachers to explain again. B. Create stories to remember words.
C. Draw pictures to understand concepts. D. Use a timer to manage his study time.
D 17. A 18. C
Alice在分享中提到:“I used this technique to divide my homework into parts and set a 25-minute timer for each part. After each part, I took a short 5-minute one.”,因此“Pomodoro Technique”是将学习时间分成若干段,每段之间穿插短暂休息的方法。
Lee在分享中写道:“to remind me of the word ‘playful’ I learned yesterday, I made a picture story for it”,因此他创作关于北极熊的图画故事是为了帮助记忆一个新单词。
Tom在分享中提出:“I find it turns out to be much easier when I draw it out”,并以地理课画图理解地球自转与公转的区别为例,因此他的学习建议是通过画图来理解概念。

Imagine a cute cat doll that can talk to you with lively looks, a smart globe that introduces local cultures wherever you tap, or a little robot ready for a game of chess. These are not common toys—they use artificial intelligence (AI) to listen and act. Such “smart companions (陪伴者)” are becoming popular around the world.
China’s AI toy market is expected to reach 29 billion yuan this year. Big international companies like Mattel and OpenAI are also planning to bring out AI products for kids. Experts say these toys are created to provide support and companionship. By building a close relationship with users, they are leading a new trend (潮流).
“More and more young people are willing to pay for warmth and companionship, and AI companionship is a perfect example,” said Sun Zhaozhi, CEO of a Shanghai AI toy company.
Besides support, AI toys might change how children learn and grow. They can act like private teachers, help to make personal study plans and play fun games with kids.
However, there are risks. AI might sometimes give unsafe suggestions. For example, one AI teddy bear told researchers where to find dangerous things. There are also worries about privacy, as these toys could collect personal information.
Another problem is that AI companions might only say what users want to hear. This could make it harder for young users to deal with real-world relationships.
Therefore, ▲ . These could include stricter age limits (限制) for chatbot use and stricter rules for AI companies. At the same time, parents should think carefully before letting a machine—one that only agrees with their child—become a daily companion.
19. Why are AI toys becoming popular all over the world?
A. They are cheaper than common ones. B. They can be good supporters.
C. They are produced by big companies. D. They can help get better grades.
20. Which word can best describe the future of AI toys according to Sun Zhaozhi?
A. Worrying. B. Risky. C. Unclear. D. Bright.
21. Which can best fill in the blank in the last paragraph?
A. AI toys will bring more problems. B. similar worries have been raised.
C. some basic safety rules are needed. D. AI may influence people’s daily life.
22. What is the main purpose of this passage?
A. To discuss the advantages and risks of AI toys.
B. To encourage more companies to produce AI toys.
C. To warn parents against buying AI toys for children.
D. To explain why AI toys are becoming popular in China.
【答案】19 B 20. D 21. C 22. A
文章第二段:“Experts say these toys are created to provide support and companionship. By building a close relationship with users, they are leading a new trend (潮流).”,表明人工智能玩具成为全球流行的原因是它们能成为很好的支持者,能提供支持和陪伴。
【20题详解】
文章第三段:“‘More and more young people are willing to pay for warmth and companionship, and AI companionship is a perfect example,’ said Sun Zhaozhi, CEO of a Shanghai AI toy company.”,孙照智认为越来越多的年轻人愿意为温暖和陪伴付费,人工智能陪伴就是个很好的例子,由此可推断出他认为人工智能玩具的未来是光明的。
文章最后一段:“These could include stricter age limits (限制) for chatbot use and stricter rules for AI companies.”,这里提到了一些具体的措施,如更严格的聊天机器人使用年龄限制和更严格的人工智能公司规则,所以空白处应该是说需要一些基本的安全规则。
C
You might think that a map is nothing more than a drawing of an area, such as a city or a country. Maps are important tools to make sure we don’t get lost and they also tell us how humans think, feel and live.
The history of maps goes back more than 5,000 years. The earliest surviving map of the world is an earth tablet (碑) from Babylon. It shows Babylon in the centre, the River Euphrates and the oceans and mountains nearby.
The people of ancient Greece and the Romans made maps. However, it was Ptolemy, an Egyptian scientist, who changed them forever. He marked about 10,000 places by creating a system. It used lines called latitude and longitude which are still used today to mark areas on a map.
After the fall of the Roman Empire, maps made in Europe became more about storytelling. They were often made in monasteries (修道院) and mapmakers put what was most important to them at the centre on the map.
Between the 15th and 17th centuries, new ideas and inventions were changing the world. Ships were crossing oceans and countries were building new empires, so accurate (准确的) maps appeared. Mapmakers were influenced by Ptolemy’s ideas and the invention of printing meant the monasteries were not the only places that could produce maps.
Today, the development of technology has made maps more helpful than ever. However, some experts worry that our blind trust in technology means we are losing our natural sense of direction. There have been reports of people driving into lakes, deserts or other countries by mistake after following GPS. Perhaps we’re no smarter than the people in Babylon after all.
23. Where is the first surviving map from?
A. Egypt. B. Babylon. C. Rome. D. Greece.
24. What’s the big change about maps between the 15th and 17th centuries?
A. Latitude and longitude were first used. B. People depended on GPS to travel.
C. More places were correctly marked on maps. D. Mapmakers used maps to tell stories.
25. What can be inferred from the last paragraph?
A. We need to train our natural sense of direction often.
B. Mapmakers in Babylon had better-developed brains.
C. Modern-day maps can tell how humans live and what they think.
D. People can’t blindly follow the instructions of GPS while traveling.
26. What’s the best title of the passage?
A. Finding Your Way Without Help B. Mapping the World
C. Old Tablets and Modern-day GPS D. Different Drawings of Areas
B 24. C 25. D 26. B

第五段句子“Ships were crossing oceans and countries were building new empires, so accurate maps appeared.”
最后一段中句子“our blind trust in technology means we are losing our natural sense of direction. There have been reports of people driving into lakes, deserts or other countries by mistake after following GPS.”
D
The wildfire in Los Angeles burned Charlotte Tragos’s home to the ground. Marks of her childhood heights on the kitchen wall, family treasures in cupboards, and her family’s photos were all gone.
“It was a pretty special house,” said Tragos, who ran away with her parents, her younger sister and their three dogs when the fire broke out on January 7th, 2025. All the teenager took with her was her high school diploma
A few days after the fire, Tragos’s friend shared with her a video: a L. A. artist offering to create, for free, watercolor paintings of people’s homes before they were burnt. Tragos contacted the artist, Jordan Heber, asking if she could paint Tragos’s home.“I want to do it as a surprise to my family,” she wrote. Tragos sent a photo to Heber, who completed a painting of Tragos’s home in three days.“A home is more than just a house where we keep our things,” said Heber.
Heber works as a designer and paints in her free time, usually charging $300 to $400 for a house drawing. After the fire began, Heber kept thinking about how she could help. Seeing another local artist offering free house drawings, she was encouraged. “This will be my way to help,” said Heber.
She posted her offer on social media, and messages poured in. Heber has painted over fifty houses, including one for Jeremy Wineberg, whose family home was also destroyed.
“It was a place you never wanted to leave,” said Wineberg. When the fire came, he escaped with his two dogs, taking only a blanket. “Heber’s painting means the world to me. I’ve lost almost everything, but a piece like this—something that brings back what ‘home’ meant—gives me strength.”
Heber is glad that people find her paintings meaningful, saying, “Hopefully it encourages others to use their talents to help people.”
27. What happened to Tragos on January 7th, 2025?
A. She became a famous artist. B. She lost her home in a fire.
C. She graduated from high school. D. She made friends with Heber.
28. What does the underlined“poured in” in Paragraph 5 probably mean?
A. Stopped suddenly. B. Disappeared soon.
C. Came in great numbers. D. Kept sending and receiving.
29. What can be inferred from Wineberg’s words?
A. He thinks the painting presents everything he has lost.
B. He feels the painting can never replace what he has truly lost.
C. The painting brings back memories that make him feel sad again.
D. The painting provides him with a sense of hope during a difficult time.
30. Which word best describes Heber according to the passage?
A. Kind. B. Patient. C. Honest. D. Polite.
B 28. C 29. D 30. A

and表并列,so表因果,then表顺承,均不符。
固定搭配have an effect on“对……有影响”,应用effect。pity“怜悯”、hold“控制”、opinion“观点”均不搭配。
【46题详解】
句意:她是一只被救助的狗,所以谁知道她以前面对过什么,但她不会让过去阻碍自己,不像许多人类。
face后缺少宾语,应用what引导宾语从句,表示“所面对的事情”。why、when、which均不符合语法和语义。
for、with、toward均无法表达对比关系。

I used to feel nervous about having trouble doing my homework. To fix it, I tried out the“PomodoroTechnique”. Pomodoro is the Italian word for tomato. I used this technique to divide my homework into parts and set a 25-minute timer for each part. After each part, I took a short 5-minute one. After four parts, I took a longer break, about a quarter. Surprisingly, I finished my homework in less time.

C Modern-day maps can tell how humans live and what they think.
D. People can’t blindly follow the instructions of GPS while traveling.
26. What’s the best title of the passage?
A. Finding Your Way Without Help B. Mapping the World
C. Old Tablets and Modern-day GPS D. Different Drawings of Areas
