In new york, in london, which is in a different time zone, it's already eight pm. That's because london is ahead by five hours. Time zones are really helpful for things like traveling, making phone calls and watching T, V shows that are broadcasting from different parts of the world. Imagine how confusing IT would be if everyone used the same time. There's even a special line called the international date line. It's an imaginary line in the pacific ocean. When you cross IT, the date changes. So if you travel west across the line, you go forward a day. And if you travel east, you go back a day. Pretty cool, right? So to summit all up, we have different time zones because the earth is always spinning, and we need a way to keep track of time all around the world. IT helps us stay organized and make sure everyone knows what time IT is, no matter where they are.
