Everybody enjoys acts of kindness. But can you explain why? Some people think kindness is something out of love and care, while others believe it is just a tool that we use to become more popular. But research shows that being kind can activate (激活) an area of the brain called Striatum. Research also shows that kindness improves people’s mood (情绪) . But why and how does it happen? Here are a number of different ways.
Being kind can make someone smile. If you see yourself smile in a situation, people around you may be smiling, too. This is especially true for your close friends and family. A kind act makes someone who is sad feel better. It can also make us feel good. So why not set off that chain (链条) of good feelings to people around?
Secondly, being kind starts or develops a social connection with others. Kind acts like buying someone a present make friendships stronger. Research has shown that spending money on others may help you get a stronger feeling of happiness than spending it on yourself. Similarly, charities (慈善) also open up new circles of people to connect with someone on the other side of the world.
In another recent study, even children in their first year of middle school know how being kind makes them feel happy. If one person is kind, he or she makes others in the group kind. It also lifts everyone’s spirits. Imagine that you make cakes for the office and it makes others do it each month. Then you’re getting cakes a lot more days than providing them.
All in all, being kind may improve your mood, but research has also shown that if you’re in a good mood, you can act much more kindly. This makes it a wonderful two-way relationship, doesn’t it?
3. The writer leads in the topic by ________.

Have you ever heard of OpenClaw? It’s an open-source AI agent. People like to call it “Little Crayfish” because its logo is a red lobster (龙虾). This AI agent is special because users can train it to do tasks automatically (自动地) on their computers. It has become so popular that people around the world are installing it.
Many cities in China are also excited about OpenClaw. They are giving away large sums of money to support projects using it. For example, on March 10, 2026, the Hefei High-tech Zone announced it would provide up to 10 million yuan in “computing vouchers” (算力券) for projects like OpenClaw. They also plan to use it in different fields like education and healthcare.
However, the excitement comes with worries. On March 10, 2026, an expert from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Wei Liang, warned users about safety risks. He advised taking six safety steps, such as controlling the permissions (权限) of the AI and being careful when using its skill market.
The journey of OpenClaw hasn’t always been smooth. It started with the name Clawdbot in November 2025. Later, because of a trademark problem, it was changed to OpenClaw. In January 2026, as big companies like Moonshot AI started using it, the use of tokens (代币) increased greatly. But in February, a dangerous security problem (CVE-2026-25253) was found. This caused big companies like Meta and Google to stop related services. Even with these problems, the interest in OpenClaw keeps growing. For example, on March 6, Tencent held a free installation event in Shenzhen, and nearly a thousand people came. Soon after, on March 7, Shenzhen’s Longgang District announced special policies to support it, and on March 9, the Wuxi High-tech Zone followed with its own support measures.
7. Why do people call OpenClaw “Little Crayfish”?
A. Because it works like a crayfish.
B. Because it was first made in a place famous for crayfish.
C. Because its symbol is a red lobster.
8. What kind of support did Hefei High-tech Zone provide on March 10, 2026?
A. It held a free installation event.
B. It offered money in the form of computing vouchers.
C. It announced 12 new support measures.
9. What did the MIIT expert suggest people do?
A. Stop using OpenClaw completely.
B. Use OpenClaw only in education and healthcare.
C. Be careful and take safety steps when using OpenClaw.
10. What can we learn from the passage?
A. OpenClaw has become popular without any problems.
B. A New “Crayfish” in the AI World: Hot but Risky
C. Only a few cities in China are interested in OpenClaw.
C 8. B 9. C 10. B
第一段第3句“People like to call it ‘Little Crayfish’ because its logo is a red lobster”解释了为什么被称为小龙虾的原因。
第二段第3句“For example, on March 10, 2026, the Hefei High-tech Zone announced it would provide up to 10 million yuan in ‘computing vouchers’ for projects like OpenClaw.”
第三段第2-3句“On March 10, 2026, an expert from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Wei Liang, warned users about safety risks. He advised taking six safety steps, such as controlling the permissions of the AI and being careful when using its skill market.”

后文提到比赛以“2.4英里游泳”开头,因此铁人三项的项目包括“swimming(游泳)”;“jumping(跳跃)”、“dancing(跳舞)”均不是铁人三项的项目。
“made it”是常用搭配“make it”的过去式形式,意为“成功做到(某事)”。
2.4英里的游泳项目用时“90 minutes(分钟)”符合实际;“seconds(秒)”时间过短,“hours(小时)”时间过长,均不符合常理。
自行车带有“额外座位”,说明是“special(特制的)”;“empty(空的)”、“tiny(小的)”均不符合“为Johnny设计”的描述。

根据“…posted by those Chinese…living abroad…”
根据“…have…accepted the idea…”
根据“Some boxes contain prepackaged meals…on a store’s sales…” 故填based。
根据“…choose from ... still remains in the store…” 故填what。
根据“The contents (内容) of the blind boxes are often only seen after they…” 故填are opened。

A Because it works like a crayfish.
B. Because it was first made in a place famous for crayfish.
C Because its symbol is a red lobster.
