Men and women gathered in loose formation. Their actions combined to achieve a meditative (冥想的) dance. I was amazed by its beauty and grace. It was like watching a water lily opening. Yet I couldn’t see the point. I could achieve my fitness goals from exercise classes, swimming and cycling — and moving so slowly didn’t seem to build muscle, my objective for all activities. I chose only to admire this martial art (武术) but kept my distance. Years later, a recommendation from my doctor brought me to a training group for tai chi beginners led by a caring instructor. I had thought that my goal would be to master the 108 moves. Technically right, but wrong on so many counts. The class was full of lovely people who glided effortlessly, seemingly never confused about where to move next. They assured me that they had been beginners once too, and that I would be able to remember all the moves within three or four years. Three to four years! Graduate degrees took less time. But I could see they were right. Commit and improve: That was the only path. Another realization came to me when I attended an advanced class. We began with foundation exercises, and almost immediately, the instructor singled me out for instruction. To be singled out was an honour, but I was mortified. All the others in the class stopped and turned to watch me while the instructor corrected my positioning. “Don’t bend, “he said, and I repeated the movement. “Straighten your back, “he urged, and on it went — probably for only a few minutes, but it seemed like hours. I couldn’t say, “Yeah, I get it.” I had to show that I did. I concentrated as I had never done before, listening to what the instructor was saying, watching his movement and then willing my body to move in imitation. I was unlearning and learning, overcoming awkwardness to focus. I realized that I was learning a new way of being in the world—truly listening and open to correction. I don’t know that I will ever master the 108 moves. What I do know is that I have found an activity in my life where change and growth are not just possible but expected, even when my stubborn (固执的) personality tendencies re-emerge at every turn. 41.What was the author’s first impression of tai chi? It was like watching a water lily opening.(我被它的美丽与优雅所震撼,就像观赏睡莲绽放)”以及第二段中的“Yet I couldn’t see the point. I could achieve my fitness goals from exercise classes, swimming and cycling—and moving so slowly didn’t seem to build muscle, my objective for all activities. (但我实在看不出太极的意义所在。我通过健身课、游泳和骑行就能实现健身目标 —— 而且动作这么慢,似乎根本练不了肌肉,而练肌肉是我所有运动的核心目的)”可知,作者最初觉得太极赏心悦目,但没什么实际用处。故选A项。 42.推理判断题。根据第四段“They assured me that they had been beginners once too, and that I would be able to remember all the moves within three or four years. Three to four years! Graduate degrees took less time. But I could see they were right. Commit and improve: That was the only path.(他们向我保证,自己曾经也都是初学者,还说我大概三四年内就能记住所有招式。三到四年啊!就算是读个研究生学位也用不了这么久。但我知道他们说得对——坚持下去,不断精进,这是唯一的路。)可知,作者意识到掌握太极需要长期的坚持。故选C项。 43.词句猜测题。根据第五段“All the others in the class stopped and turned to watch me while the instructor corrected my positioning.(全班其他人都停下来看着我,教练在一旁纠正我的姿势)”可知,被单独点名指导且被众人注视,这种场景会让人感到尴尬,因此“mortified”意为“尴尬的”,与“Embarrassed”同义。故选D项。 44.细节理解题。根据第六段“I concentrated as I had never done before, listening to what the instructor was saying, watching his movement and then willing my body to move in imitation. (我从未如此专注过,认真听教练的指导,观察他的动作,然后努力让自己的身体模仿着动起来)”可知,在高级班中,作者专注倾听并认真遵循教练的指导。故选B项。 45.推理判断题。根据最后一段“What I do know is that I have found an activity in my life where change and growth are not just possible but expected(但我知道,我找到了一项能让自己发生改变、实现成长的活动,这种改变和成长不仅可能,更是必然的)”可知,太极赋予了人们自我提升的力量。故选A项。 C In the animal kingdom, counting skills are known to help grab bigger meals or find safety in group sizes. But clownfish may have uncovered another ‌“value” in numbers: identification. Despite their cute appearance, clownfish are territorial and aggressive. When they spot a member of their own species moving towards their place, they attack, biting and throwing out unwelcome visitors. There are 28 different species of clownfish, however. So how do they actually tell friends from enemies? Depending on the species, clownfish can have anywhere from zero to three white stripes. Previous research suggested the fish pay close attention to these markings. In a 2022 study, scientists found clownfish display more aggressive behavior (e.g., running after or biting others) toward fish with vertical stripes compared with those with horizontal stripes. This time around, ecologist Hayashi and colleagues assumed the fish could actually count those stripes. They placed 50 young, lab-raised common clownfish — which display the typical orange pattern like ‌“Nemo” (a clownfish with three stripes from the film Finding Nemo) — into individual water tanks. Then, the researchers added other clownfish species, which had white stripes ranging from 0 to 3 and were protected inside a see-through case, in the original clownfish’s territory and filmed their reaction. The ‌“native” fish couldn’t run after or bite the newcomers, but they could still rush them and stare them down. And that’s what happened when the newcomers wore the same number of stripes as the resident clownfish. They found that the native clownfish were the hardest on members of their own species with three white stripes. Those fish were run after and bitten 10 times more than those without stripes. Attacks on those fish were two times more frequent than on single-striped ones, and 1.3 times more frequent than on double-striped ones. It turned out that the researchers’ assumption had solid evidence. Even so, biologist Rhodes questions whether the animals are really counting or just noticing more white coloration on the attacked fish. ‌“Maybe researchers could further clarify clownfish’s calculating capacity,” adds Rhodes. ‌“An experiment that goes beyond stripes could help. Could these fish learn, for example, to prefer two squares to three squares?” 46.What new use of counting skills have clownfish demonstrated? A.Building up a large group. B.Making out potential threats. C.Finding reliable food sources. D.Measuring the size of their territory. 47.What did the 2022 study about clownfish focus on? A.The way they defend their territory. B.The diversity of their stripe patterns. C.The impact of their aggression on other species. D.The role of stripe patterns in their behavioral reaction. 48.How was the new study conducted? A.By observing clownfish in their natural habitat. B.By analyzing films themed with clownfish. C.By comparing behaviors of clownfish. D.By referring to previous research data. 49.Which of the following is a Nemo-like clownfish most likely to attack? A.A three-striped fish. B.A double-striped fish. C.A fish with one stripe. D.A fish without stripes. 50.What is the author’s purpose in mentioning Rhodes in the last paragraph? A.To point out the significance of the study. B.To lead to an alternative viewpoint on the study. C.To show appreciation of clownfish’s learning ability. D.To support the researchers’ findings about clownfish. 【答案】46.B 47.D 48.C 49.A 50.B 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了一项关于小丑鱼的研究,该研究发现小丑鱼能够通过计数入侵者身上的白色条纹数量来判断威胁程度,并据此做出攻击行为。 46.细节理解题。根据第一段“In the animal kingdom, counting skills are known to help grab bigger meals or find safety in group sizes. But clownfish may have uncovered another “value” in numbers: identification. (在动物王国,计数能力已知有助于获取更多食物或在群体规模中找到安全感。但小丑鱼可能揭示了数字的另一种“价值”:识别身份)”可知,小丑鱼展示了计数能力在识别身份方面的新用途,结合第二段中“There are 28 different species of clownfish, however. So how do they actually tell friends from enemies?(然而,小丑鱼有28种不同的种类。那么它们是如何区分敌人和朋友的呢?)”和倒数第二段中“Those fish were run after and bitten 10 times more than those without stripes. Attacks on those fish were two times more frequent than on single-striped ones, and 1.3 times more frequent than on double-striped ones.(研究人员发现,本地小丑鱼对有三条白色条纹的同类攻击性最强。这些鱼被追赶和撕咬的次数是无条纹鱼的10倍。对它们的攻击频率比对单条纹鱼高出2倍,对比双条纹鱼高出1.3倍。)”可推知,小丑鱼计数能力的新用途是区分敌友,辨别潜在威胁。故选B项。 47.细节理解题。根据第三段中“In a 2022 study, scientists found clownfish display more aggressive behavior (e.g., running after or biting others) toward fish with vertical stripes compared with those with horizontal stripes. (在2022年的一项研究中,科学家们发现,与水平条纹的鱼相比,小丑鱼对有垂直条纹的鱼表现出更强的攻击性行为(例如,追逐或咬别人)。)”可知,2022年的研究关注的是条纹图案在小丑鱼行为反应中的作用。故选D项。 48.推理判断题。根据第四段中“They placed 50 young, lab-raised common clownfish — which display the typical orange pattern like ‌“Nemo” (a clownfish with three stripes from the film Finding Nemo) — into individual water tanks. Then, the researchers added other clownfish species, which had white stripes ranging from 0 to 3 and were protected inside a see-through case, in the original clownfish’s territory and filmed their reaction. 根据第五段中“They found that the native clownfish were the hardest on members of their own species with three white stripes. Those fish were run after and bitten 10 times more than those without stripes. (他们发现,原住小丑鱼对自己物种中拥有三条白色条纹的同类最为凶狠。这些鱼被追逐和撕咬的次数是那些没有条纹的鱼的10倍)”可知,像“尼莫”一样有三条条纹的小丑鱼最有可能攻击同样有三条条纹的鱼。故选A项。 50.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Even so, biologist Rhodes questions whether the animals are really counting or just noticing more white coloration on the attacked fish. (即便如此,生物学家罗兹质疑这些动物是否真的在计数,或者只是注意到被攻击的鱼身上有更多的白色)”以及“An experiment that goes beyond stripes could help. (一个超越条纹的实验可能会有所帮助)”可知,作者提到罗兹是为了引出对这项研究的不同观点。故选B项。 D For the past 50 years, the highest-paying jobs have focused on knowledge work -especially in science, technology and analysis. But the rapid rise of generative AI is beginning to change that. Companies are already considering replacing certain white-collar roles with AI. This change raises an important question: Will the future economy still need as many human workers? The impact affects not only future workers but also teachers and parents. For years, schools have focused on getting students ready for cognitive jobs (脑力工作) . Now, with AI’s development, we need to decide which skills students truly need. In the past, machines took over simple physical tasks. But now, AI can write, create code, and process information in ways that seem human. As a result, some beginner-level knowledge jobs may decrease. However, AI still struggles with tasks that require deep reasoning, empathy (同理心) , or dealing with new situations. It cannot truly understand human feelings. That’s why “soft skills” will become more important than ever. Collaboration (协作) ,emotional awareness and creative problem-solving are difficult for AI to learn. The good news is that these skills can be taught in schools together with traditional subjects such as math and reading. For example, teachers can use reflection exercises to help students recognize their own feelings. Tasks like “Write about a time you helped someone today” or “Describe how you solved a hard problem” encourage self-awareness and empathy. Students can also practice solving open-ended, real-world problems such as designing a social campaign or discussing historical decisions. These activities help develop flexible thinking and teamwork-skills that AI cannot copy. A new challenge is that students may depend on AI to complete tasks, bypassing (绕过) the learning process. But true understanding requires effort. Teachers should stress the value of slower learning — through handwriting and hands-on projects-so that students can learn key skills before using AI tools. No one knows how AI will change the job market. However, the most important lesson schools can teach is this: Don’t let shortcuts replace learning. Human abilities-especially the ability to work with others to solve difficult problems-will always matter. 51.Compared with earlier automation, what is special about AI? A.It can replace manual labor. B.It can do some cognitive jobs. C.It can finish work independently. D.It can understand human emotions. 52.Why are soft skills becoming more important according to the passage? A.They are still difficult for AI to learn. B.They are necessary for controlling AI. C.They are easier to measure and test. D.They can help companies save costs. 53.Which of the following is NOT a way to develop students’ soft skills according to the text? A.Assigning reflection writing tasks about helping others B.Asking students to read books on flexible thinking theories C.Having students organize a social promotion campaign D.Letting students demonstrate the process of problem- solving. 54.What can teachers do to help students build core skills? A.Stop students from using AI to do assignments. B.Reduce the teaching of traditional subjects. C.Emphasize the significance of slower learning. D.Encourage students to do more exercises. 55.How does the author feel about the future of human workers? A.Worried. B.Optimistic. C.Doubtful. D.Uncaring. 【答案】51.B 52.A 53.B 54.C 55.B 【导语】本文是一篇议论文。主要探讨生成式人工智能对职场的影响及学校应侧重培养学生软技能的必要性。 51.细节理解题。根据第三段中的“In the past, machines took over simple physical tasks. But now, AI can write, create code, and process information in ways that seem human. As a result, some beginner-level knowledge jobs may decrease.(在过去,机器接管了简单的体力劳动。但如今,人工智能能够以近似人类的方式进行写作、编写代码和处理信息。因此,一些入门级的知识型工作岗位可能会减少)”可知,与早期自动化相比,人工智能的特殊性在于它可以承担部分脑力工作。故选B项。 52.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“That’s why “soft skills” will become more important than ever. Collaboration (协作) ,emotional awareness and creative problem-solving are difficult for AI to learn.(这就是为什么“软技能”会变得比以往任何时候都更重要。协作能力、情感感知能力和创造性解决问题的能力都是人工智能难以习得的)”可知,软技能愈发重要的原因是人工智能难以掌握这类技能。故选A项。 53.细节理解题。根据第五段中的“Tasks like “Write about a time you helped someone today” or “Describe how you solved a hard problem” encourage self-awareness and empathy.(诸如“写下你今天帮助别人的经历”或“描述你如何解决一个难题”这样的任务,能培养学生的自我认知和同理心)”以及第六段中的“Students can also practice solving open-ended, real-world problems such as designing a social campaign or discussing historical decisions.(学生还可以练习解决开放式的现实问题,比如设计一场社会宣传活动或讨论历史决策)”可知,A、C、D三项都是培养学生软技能的方式;B项“让学生阅读关于灵活思维理论的书籍”在文中未提及。故选B项。 54.细节理解题。根据第七段中的“Teachers should stress the value of slower learning-through handwriting and hands-on projects-so that students can learn key skills before using AI tools.(教师应当强调慢节奏学习的价值——比如通过手写和实践项目——这样学生就能在使用人工智能工具之前掌握关键技能)”可知,教师可以通过强调慢节奏学习的重要性,帮助学生培养核心技能。故选C项。 55.推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“No one knows how AI will change the job market. However, the most important lesson schools can teach is this: Don’t let shortcuts replace learning. Human abilities-especially the ability to work with others to solve difficult problems-will always matter.(没有人知道人工智能会如何改变就业市场。但学校能教给学生的最重要一课是:不要让捷径取代学习。人类的能力——尤其是与他人协作解决难题的能力——永远至关重要)”可知,作者认为人类独有的能力无法被替代,对人类劳动者的未来持乐观态度。故选B项。 第二部分:写作(共两节,满分35分) 第一节:阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) 阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容完成下列各题。 Spending 27 years living alone while teaching students in a small, remote school would be a tough task for any ordinary person, let alone for a fingerless man. But Chen Haiping has done just that. The story of his selflessness has been held up as an example to all. Born without fingers or toes, Chen became a substitute teacher in 1990, as instructors in rural areas were in short supply at the time. “I was 23 then and nobody employed me after I graduated from middle school. The job provided me with a monthly salary of 50 yuan. I was very satisfied,” Chen said. To be a good teacher, he has overcome many obstacles. He had to get rid of his accent and make his Mandarin more standard to teach pinyin, the Chinese phonetic alphabet, and he got up early each day to attend a larger school 10 kilometers away to learn from teachers there before returning to his school before classes began. But his biggest challenge was writing on the chalkboard. Without fingers, he had to hold the chalk between his palms to write. “The process was torturous. I got blisters (水泡)on my palms, and the chalk always fell to the floor,” Chen recalled. Located on a hillside in Liulin County, his school only has six students; three of them are preschoolers. Chen teaches them all in the same classroom. The situation at Chen’s school is not unusual. As immigrant parents take their children with them to cities, fewer students attend village schools. In the early 2000s, some rural schools closed or merged (合并)to improve conditions. Most village children were sent to schools in towns or cities. A few were left in “ghost schools” like Chen’s. “The quality of education in ghost schools is not as good as that in bigger ones, but they are still important. Without them, some students would drop out,” Chen said, adding that this is part of the reason why he refuses to leave. “I will keep teaching even if there is only one student left,” he said. 56.What did Chen Haiping do after he graduated from a middle school?(no more than 5 words) 57.What obstacles did Chen Haiping overcome to be a qualified teacher?(no more than 20 words) 58.What does the underlined word in Paragraph 4 probably mean?(1 word) 59.For what purpose will Chen Haiping keep teaching in his school?(no more than 10 words) 60.What do you think of Chen Haiping? Please explain.(no more than 25 words) 【答案】56.He became a substitute teacher. 57.He overcame his accent, traveled far to learn from other teachers, and mastered writing on the chalkboard without fingers. 58.Painful. 59.To prevent some students from dropping out. 60.He is selfless and persistent, because he teaches alone in a remote school for 27 years. 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述无指教师陈海平(音译)在偏远乡村学校坚守27年,克服困难教书育人的无私事迹。 56.考查细节理解。根据第二段中的“Born without fingers or toes, Chen became a substitute teacher in 1990, as instructors in rural areas were in short supply at the time. “I was 23 then and nobody employed me after I graduated from middle school. The job provided me with a monthly salary of 50 yuan. I was very satisfied,” Chen said.(陈天生没有手指和脚趾,1990年成为一名代课老师,当时农村地区师资短缺。“我那时23岁,中学毕业后没人雇佣我。这份工作每个月给我 50 块钱的薪水,我当时特别满足。” 陈海平说)”可知,陈海平中学毕业后成为了一名代课老师。故填He became a substitute teacher. 57.考查细节理解。根据第三段中的“He had to get rid of his accent and make his Mandarin more standard to teach pinyin, the Chinese phonetic alphabet, and he got up early each day to attend a larger school 10 kilometers away to learn from teachers there before returning to his school before classes began.(为了教汉语拼音,他不得不改掉口音,让自己的普通话更标准;他还每天早起前往10公里外的一所规模更大的学校,向那里的老师请教学习,再赶在上课前回到自己的学校)”及第四段中的“But his biggest challenge was writing on the chalkboard. Without fingers, he had to hold the chalk between his palms to write.(但他最大的挑战是在黑板上写字。没有手指,他只能把粉笔夹在掌心写字)”可知,他克服的障碍包括改口音、远赴他乡学习、无指握粉笔写字。故填He overcame his accent, traveled far to learn from other teachers, and mastered writing on the chalkboard without fingers. 58.考查词句猜测。根据第四段中的“The process was torturous. I got blisters (水泡)on my palms, and the chalk always fell to the floor(这个过程很torturous。我的手掌起了水泡,粉笔还总是掉在地上)”可知,无指握粉笔写字让他手掌起水泡,过程痛苦,由此猜测torturous意为“痛苦的”。故填Painful. 59.考查细节理解。根据最后一段中的““The quality of education in ghost schools is not as good as that in bigger ones, but they are still important. Without them, some students would drop out,” Chen said, adding that this is part of the reason why he refuses to leave.(““空心学校”的教育质量不如大学校,但它们仍然很重要。没有它们,一些学生就会辍学,”陈说,并补充说这是他拒绝离开的部分原因)”可知,陈海平坚持教书是为了防止部分学生辍学。故填To prevent some students from dropping out. 60.考查主旨大意。根据第一段中的“Spending 27 years living alone while teaching students in a small, remote school would be a tough task for any ordinary person, let alone for a fingerless man. But Chen Haiping has done just that. The story of his selflessness has been held up as an example to all.(对任何普通人来说,在一所偏远的乡村小学校独自生活、教书27年,都是一项艰巨的任务,更不用说一个没有手指的人了。但陈海平却做到了这一点。他的无私事迹被树立为所有人的榜样)”可知,陈海平无私且坚韧,坚守偏远学校27年。故填He is selfless and persistent, because he teaches alone in a remote school for 27 years. Dear Mr.Secretary-General, __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Looking forward to your reply. B I first encountered tai chi in Ottawa’s Chinatown. C.Tai chi fires people’s passion for sports. D.Tai chi facilitates healthy relationships. C In the animal kingdom, counting skills are known to help grab bigger meals or find safety in group sizes. D For the past 50 years, the highest-paying jobs have focused on knowledge work -especially in science, technology and analysis. C.Doubtful. D.Uncaring. 第二部分:写作(共两节,满分35分) 第一节:阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) 阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容完成下列各题。 Spending 27 years living alone while teaching students in a small, remote school would be a tough task for any ordinary person, let alone for a fingerless man. D For the past 50 years, the highest-paying jobs have focused on knowledge work -especially in science, technology and analysis. C.Doubtful.
