Many people, including myself, are discovering the joy of playing traditional Chinese musical instruments. My favourite instrument is the guzheng, which has a long history in Chinese music. I love it because it has beautiful sounds and it’s a great part of Chinese culture. I started learning it when I was seven. At first, reading notes was hard, and I grew impatient with long practice sessions. But my teacher encouraged me and taught me to understand the deeper meanings of the music.
