The Miao is one of China’s minority
groups(少数民族), and more than 4.3 million Miao people
live in Guizhou Province. The Miao people are good at
3
embroidery(刺绣). They use needles and threads(针线) to
decorate clothes with beautiful designs which usually come from
nature and their local history. Today, more and more Miao
people are known for their embroidery artworks.
Yang Xueshu and Wang Rongbi are two embroidery
designers who come from Xiaogulong Village in Guizhou. Their
embroidery artworks were shown at Milan Fashion Week. “I
have never been abroad,” Wang Rongbi said, “but my
embroidery has.” Wang is proud of Miao culture.
Wang’s artworks have seals(印章) on the chest and back.
It’s her way to show her great respect for the Siyin Miao.
“Siyin” in Chinese means four seals. It’s a part of the Miao
ethnic group. It’s said that the Siyin Miao people kept the seals
for a king in ancient times. They were later separated by war.
To know each other, they embroidered the seals on their clothes.
This tradition has been passed down. Even now, some old Miao
people still teach kids how to embroider these seals.
Now, traditional artworks are very popular. They show the
Miao people’s love for life and culture. And they are attracting
people all over the world. Many tourists visit Guizhou just to
buy Miao embroidery, and some young designers even learn
from Miao artists to mix traditional styles with modern fashion.
This not only helps more people know about Miao culture but
also lets the traditional art live on in new ways.#7

Passage 2 .
文体:说明文 文章词数:约280词
难度:★★★☆☆ 建议用时:7分钟
The Chinese calendar, also known as the lunar calendar, is
formed based on the movement of the moon and the sun. Each
Chinese calendar year has a zodiac sign(生肖), 12 or 13
months and each month has 29 or 30 days. If there are 12
months, there will be 354 or 355 days in a year;
12
if 13 months, there will be 383 or 384 days. Although China
has adopted the Gregorian calendar (公历) for official and
business occasions, the traditional Chinese calendar is widely
used to define(定义) 24 solar terms and traditional holidays
and helps to choose a lucky day before important activities such
as weddings and moving into a new house.
Each time the moon lines up with the earth and the sun, a
new month begins, called “Chu Yi” (the first day of a lunar
month). When the full moon appears, it is ▲. The full moon
cycle is a bit over 29 days, so a month has 29 or 30 days. A
lunar year has 12 or 13 months. The month with its first day
nearest start of Spring is the first lunar month, and on that day,
the Spring Festival is celebrated.
Leap month is a term in the Chinese lunar calendar. The
lunar calendar makes sure that there is a full moon on the 15th
or 16th of each month, so each month is about 29.5 days.
A 12-month year has 354~355 days, which would over time be
out of sync(不同步) with the seasons. Thus, a month is
added every three years or so to match the Gregorian year
(about 365.2425 days). This added month is a leap month,
with about seven every 19 years.#5

话题3 人际交往(2024贵州; 2021贵阳)
Passage 5
文体:说明文 文章词数:约270词
难度:★★★★☆ 建议用时:7分钟
In small towns, people often say hello to their neighbors in
stores, on the streets, or outside their homes. But in cities,
many people don’t greet their neighbors, even when they are
standing in line at a supermarket. A recent study shows that
37
greeting neighbors, especially up to six people a day, is really
good for you.
The study has found that greeting others can make you
happier. The magic number is six. When you greet up to six
people, your happiness score goes up. After that, the score
shows no further rise. The study was carried out last year and
got replies from more than 4,000 people. It tested people’s
social happiness, physical happiness, community happiness and
more. People who greeted six neighbors had a much higher
happiness score than those who didn’t greet anyone.
You might think that saying hello is only about social
happiness, but that’s not the case. Regular(经常的) greetings
also improve your physical and community happiness. ▲ If you
feel your community is safe, it’s more possible for you to talk
to people. Walking around your neighborhood can make you
feel better physically.
Dan Witters, the leader of the study, said, “We don’t mean
that you should know the person well. Just stop and talk to
them. It doesn’t have to be a long talk—even a friendly ‘Good
morning’ greeting works. The more people you greet, the more
chances you have to start a conversation.”
Remember, saying hello regularly is a good way to improve
your own happiness. It’s a small thing to do, but it can make a
big difference in how you feel every day.#7

Passage 6
文体:说明文 文章词数:约270词
难度:★★★★☆ 建议用时:7分钟
Sally is a teen girl dreaming of becoming a dancer.
However, her parents hope she’ll be a doctor. She wants to
follow her parents’ advice, yet she also can’t let go of her own
dream.
46
Being a teenager isn’t easy. You feel old enough to make
choices by yourself, but your parents often insist they know
what’s best for you.
So, how can Sally fix her problem?
First, teenagers can try to look at things from their parents’
point of view. Parents often have long-term plans for their kids.
When our parents control what we do, they’re only trying to
guide us. Our parents have been through many more things than
we have. So, it is reasonable to trust them. After all, they
control us because they love us.
But let’s also look at things through a teenager’s eyes.
Many teens feel like they can take on more responsibilities.
Instead of just accepting our parents’ choices or arguing with
them, we should try sharing our feelings with our parents. Sally
could tell her parents how dancing makes her feel; maybe show
them a video of her performance. She could also ask to try
both for a while—keep studying science for the doctor job and
take dance classes. Sharing feelings with our parents can lead to
positive changes, while not sharing with them can bring
misunderstandings.
So, if you feel that your parents’ decision is unfair, you
should sit down together and talk about it. By sharing your
feelings and coming up with a proper method, you may be able
to change their minds. Their trust in you will also grow. As
you get older, you’ll be able to make your own decisions.#5.3

话题4 环境保护(2025贵州)
Passage 7
文体:说明文 文章词数:约280词
难度:★★★★☆ 建议用时:7分钟
The Taklimakan Desert is the largest desert in Xinjiang,
China. It is about 337,000 square kilometers. The dry
environment makes it difficult for life there. Sandstorms often
happen, and the moving sand seriously influences the lives of
55
local people and the natural environment in this area. However,
the Chinese government and people have been making an effort
to control the desert. Here are some of the scientific and
effective ways they have used.
One of the main ways is to build a tree belt(带) around
the desert. By the end of 2023, a 2,761-kilometer-long green
belt had already been built around it. In 2024, the last part of
the belt, 285 kilometers, was finished. The belt lies as a strong
wall against the spread of the desert.
Biological ways are also widely used. For example, people
grow special plants like huyang that can grow well with little
water. These plants hold the sand and reduce sandstorms. At the
same time, they can also bring certain economic(经济的)
benefits to local people.
And the method of using solar power generation
(太阳能发电) has been used too. By building greenhouses,
people can grow vegetables and fruits. In this way, they can
make full use of the land and light in the desert area.
Great changes have already taken place. The natural
environment around the desert has been improved greatly. The
local economy has also been developing rapidly. The success in
the control of this desert shows: as long as we have a strong
will and use scientific methods, we can protect the environment
and build a better future for both people and nature.#6.1

Passage 8(2025毕节一模)
文体:说明文 文章词数:约280词
难度:★★★★☆ 建议用时:7分钟
Imagine that you are traveling far north. Where will you
go? You might go to a place that is covered with snow and ice.
It is the Arctic(北极)—the northernmost part of the Earth.
The Arctic is home to some animals like polar bears(北极熊)
and Arctic foxes. However, environmental problems in the
Arctic are becoming worse.
64
Climate change is heating the Arctic faster than anywhere
else on Earth. As worldwide temperatures rise, sea ice is
shrinking(缩减) by 14% every ten years. This is a disaster
for polar bears. Polar bears mainly eat seals. They always look
for seals on floating sea ice. If there isn’t any sea ice around,
the bears will have to stay on land, where there is no food for
them. They need to burn their body fat during this time until
they can find food. With less ice, polar bears have to swim or
walk much farther to find food, which requires a lot of energy.
Another serious problem is pollution. Harmful chemicals
(化学物质) are from factories, farms and cities in other parts
of the world. They are carried to the Arctic by air, water and
even animals. These chemicals are dangerous for Arctic animals.
For example, they can cause fewer animals to be born, and
increase the risk of disease. This shows how human activities
far away can harm even the farthest place on Earth.
Protecting the Arctic means taking care of our planet
because the Arctic plays a key role in Earth’s climate. So, it’s
time to take action now—before it’s too late.#6.1
【主旨大意】本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍了北极地区面临的环
境问题。
1.Why is the shrinking sea ice a disaster for polar bears?( )
B
A. They prefer swimming to walking.
B. They lose their main hunting ground.
C. They can’t find a safe place to live in.
【解析】细节理解题。根据第二段“Polar bears mainly eat
seals. They always look for seals on floating sea ice. If there
isn’t any sea ice around, the bears will have to stay on land,
where there is no food for them.”可知,海冰缩减使北极熊失
去了主要的捕猎场所(浮冰),无法找到食物,所以这对它们是
灾难。
68

to?( )
C
A. Human activities.

话题5 跨学科知识(2025贵州)
Passage 9 .
文体:说明文 文章词数:约260词
难度:★★★★☆ 建议用时:6分钟
You might think the sun is yellow, but it’s not that simple.
The sun actually shines with all the colors of the rainbow. But
it’s the brightest in the blue and green parts of the spectrum
(光谱). In other words, the sun might be expected to appear
blue or green. But it clearly doesn’t. Why is that?
72
The answer has something to do with how our eyes work.
Our eyes have three types of special cells called cones
(视锥细胞), and they help us see colors: red, green and
blue. When sunlight hits these cells, they send messages to our
brain. The brain uses these messages to decide what color we
see. If all three cells send the strong messages, we see white
light. That’s what happens with sunlight. Even though it shines
more blue and green light, the sun looks white because our
eyes mix all the colors together. That’s why the sun looks white
to astronauts in space!
But on Earth, something different happens. As sunlight
passes through the air around Earth, tiny particles(微粒)
spread out shorter blue waves in every direction. This is why
the sky looks blue! At the same time, longer red, yellow, and
orange waves pass straight through. So during the day, the sun
appears yellow or orange. At sunrise or sunset, it might look
redder because the light travels through more air, spreading out
even more blue light.
So, what color is the sun? It depends on where you are. In
space, it’s white. On Earth, it’s often golden or orange. But no
matter what, it’s still our bright, shiny star!#7

You might think math is hard and boring. Could it be that
you’ve been looking at math in the wrong way? With the
International Day of Mathematics coming on March 14, we
interviewed Professor Li. We asked if math could be beautiful
and fun. Here’s what Li said.
82
Numbers are beautiful
There is math hidden in beautiful human bodies. Measure
the length from your head to your belly button (肚脐) and
from your belly button to your feet. The ratio (比例) of
these two numbers is always around 0.618. This is the golden
ratio, which can be seen everywhere, like in nature, music and
paintings.
In Chinese poems, we can also see the beauty of numbers.
As Li Bai wrote, “My boat has left ten thousand mountains far
away”, “A thousand miles in one day”—all these numbers show
how fast Li Bai traveled and how happy he felt.
Curves(曲线) are beautiful
“Sine curves” are beautiful. They go towards the two
opposite directions on and on without ever ending. When you
look at them, you may feel like standing by the sea and
watching the waves slowly moving. When listening to music,
the sound waves from guitars or pianos are made up of sine
curves. “Tangent curve” is like a waterfall, just as Li Bai wrote,
“falling down three thousand feet from on high”.
Formulas(公式) are beautiful
There are some amazing formulas. In a right-angled triangle
(直角三角形), the square of the longest side is equal to the
sum of the squares of the other two sides. How amazing! Just
as Chinese-American mathematician Chen Xingshen said, “Math
is fun!”#6.1

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI),
China is using AI and robots in the elderly care service field,
offering new solutions to the challenges of an aging population.
The latest data shows that China’s population aged 60 and
92
above reached 310 million by the end of 2024. It’s about 22
percent of its total.
Although elderly care robots are still at an early stage
compared to industrial robots, some users have already begun to
experience the convenience they offer. To improve service
quality, China is helping create the first international standard
for elderly care robots, setting rules for their design and safety.
In Shenzhen, elderly care robots are widely used in nursing
homes. They play chess, give treatment, and help old people
with movement. “These robots improve our lives and show us
new ideas,” said Li Xipo, a nursing home director. During the
Spring Festival, special robots even helped elderly people climb
mountains, showing their potential(潜力) in making our lives
better.
Other cities are also using elderly care robots. In Shenyang,
a patient has learned to walk again with the robot’s help. In
Chengdu, a companion(陪伴) robot named Yang Yang wakes
the elderly each morning and reminds them of their daily
activities. Soon, more elderly care robots like Yang Yang will
enter the market. They will bring the elderly a better life.
It is believed that the support of the government and the
progress in AI will help the development of elderly care robots.
In the future, the care robots may be able to predict health
risks and provide proactive(主动的) care just like family
members do.#7

Passage 12
文体:说明文 文章词数:约270词
难度:★★★☆☆ 建议用时:7分钟
Unlike what you may imagine, taking good care of a plant
can be difficult, especially when it comes to how to water a
plant. Many people are not sure how often or how much they
need to water their plants. Even some farmers may have the
same problem. Luckily, a new technology called GrowStream
can help them “talk” to their plants.
103
GrowStream is a watering system. Its tubes(管子) have
special tiny holes in them. When plants need water, they will
let out chemicals(化学物质) through their roots. When the
holes sense these chemicals, they will open. The plants then get
water from these holes. As the plants “drink” enough water,
they stop releasing(释放) these chemicals. And that “tells”
the holes to close back up and stop watering.
This system can help save 45 to 50 percent more water
than common watering systems. It was created by a company
called RDI. The company has brought the GrowStream system
to many farms in South Africa. Farmers there say it has made
their work easier and their crops healthier. The system is also
being tested in the US. It will be used to make the city greener
while saving more water.
“GrowStream is more than just a technology,” said Jan
Gould, CEO of RDI. “We want it to ‘talk’ to people, too. It
‘says’ two things: The Earth’s natural resources(资源) are not
so much, and we should take better care of the planet through
new technology. Small changes, like saving water, can make a
big difference to our future.”#7
