The World's Most Unusual Hotels
Adapted from Lonely Planet "Crazy Places to Stay"
Where do you like to stay when you travel? Most people choose hotels or hostels. But around the world, there are some very unusual places to sleep. Here are a few of the strangest hotels you can find.
In Sweden, there is a hotel made entirely of ice. It's called the Icehotel. Every winter, artists build it using ice from the nearby river. The beds are made of ice too, but don't worry you sleep on warm reindeer skins! In spring, the hotel melts away. Next winter, they build it again.
In Bolivia, you can stay in a hotel made of salt. The Palacio de Sal is near the world's largest salt flat. The walls, floors, and even some furniture are made of salt blocks. There's one rule: don't lick the walls!
In Kenya, there's a hotel where you can sleep with giraffes. The Giraffe Manor is an old building where giraffes come to visit. They stick their long necks through the windows at breakfast time. You can feed them while you eat your toast!
In China, you can stay in a hotel shaped like a giant teapot. The Teapot Hotel in Sichuan is 50 meters tall. It has rooms shaped like teacups. Guests can enjoy tea made from local leaves while looking at beautiful mountains.
In France, there is a hotel in a tree. Les Cabanes dans les Arbres lets you sleep high up in the forest. You can hear birds singing when you wake up. It feels like you're in a fairy tale.

Traveling Alone: Is It Safe for Teens?
Adapted from Teen Vogue "Solo Travel Tips for Teens"
Traveling alone can be exciting. You get to make all the decisions. You can go where you want and eat what you like. But is it safe for teenagers to travel alone?
Many teens dream of going on a solo trip. Some want to visit another city. Others dream of traveling to different countries. With the right preparation, solo travel can be a great experience.
Here are some tips for teens who want to travel alone:
Plan ahead. Know where you're going and how to get there. Book your hotels before you leave. Share your plan with your parents. Tell them where you'll be each day.
Stay connected. Bring a phone that works where you're going. Check in with your family every day. Let them know you're safe. If your plans change, tell someone.
Be careful with money. Don't carry too much cash. Use credit cards or travel cards when you can. Keep your money in different places, not all in one pocket.
Trust your feelings. If something doesn't feel right, leave. If someone makes you uncomfortable, walk away. Your safety is more important than being polite.
Make friends safely. It's great to meet new people. But be careful about how much personal information you share. Meet in public places, not in private homes.
Some countries have special rules for young travelers. In Japan, teens can stay in hotels alone. In parts of Europe, it's common to see teens traveling by train. But in some places, hotels may not let young people stay without an adult.
The best advice? Start small. Try a short trip to a nearby city first. See how it feels. Then, when you're ready, you can plan a bigger adventure.

What would you do if you could travel anywhere? One family from the USA decided to see the whole world. The Johnsons sold their house and left their jobs. They wanted to show their children that the world is a big and beautiful place.
The family has visited 30 countries so far. They started in Mexico, where they learned to make tacos. Then they went to Costa Rica and saw monkeys in the rainforest. In Peru, they walked through the ancient city of Machu Picchu.
