Longer Breaks, Better School Life
Ever since we got 15-minute breaks, my school life has become much more enjoyable. These minutes make a great difference.
First, the longer breaks help me feel less stressed. I can take a walk in the hallway, or just look out of the window. This short rest makes me ready for the next class. Second, I can chat with my classmates more. During the 15-minute break,we play games, share funny stories, or work together on difficult math problems. Third, I don't feel tired and bored in class anymore. With more rest, I can listen to teachers carefully and take clear notes. Lessons become more interesting.
To make breaks even better, I hope schools can set up "sports corners" with balls and ropes. We can also have interest groups, like reading or drawing groups.
Longer breaks make school life better!

Do you get angry when your friends sing loudly while you are working, or when your best friend does not wait for you after school?
If you do,you need to take control (控制)of your feelings and stop getting angry so easily. Getting angry with people can make you lose friends.
Gary Egeberg, an American high school teacher, has written My Feelings Are Just Like Wild Animals to help you control your feelings. It tells teenagers how to stay cool when bad things happen to them. The book says that getting angry only makes problems worse.Getting angry is not a natured (本性的)way to act.It is just a bad habit, like smoking. The book says you can control your anger easily—all you have to do is to tell yourself not to be angry.
When a baby falls over, it only cries if people are watching it. Like a baby, you should only get angry if you are sure it is the right thing to do.
The book gives many tips to help you if you get angry easily. Here are the top three:
★ Keep a record.Every time you get angry, write down why you are angry. Look at it later and you will see you get angry too easily.
★ Ask your friends to stop talking to you when you get angry. This will teach you not to be angry.

Do our rooms have to be dark when we sleep? Can we sleep with our lights on? If we sleep in the second way, is it good for our health?
According to a study, sleeping with lights on can affect(影响)us a lot. It may stop us from resting well and our hearts will beat quickly. What's worse, our bodies may have trouble getting the blood sugar to be normal.
Other studies show that blue light harms our health in some ways. Blue light comes from our mobile phones, computers and so on. When we use these things at night, it makes us difficult to fall asleep. Sometimes it can even stop us from sleeping well.
However, blue light can do some good. It can help wake us up when we're sleepy in the daytime. Blue light also helps us in winter. Some of us may feel upset because of shorter days and less sunlight. When blue light shines on us, we may feel better.
Of course, no light can beat natural light. It can not only make our rooms bright but also keep our bodies healthy. Natural light also cuts down our headaches and nervous feelings. To stay healthy and keep happy, we should use the right kind of light at the right time.

Do you have true friends? Do you want to know better between you and your friends? There are three different kinds of friends: "pest friends", "guest friends", and "best friends".
The first kind of friend is simply acquaintances(熟人),and all you usually know about them is their names. You may meet this kind of friend at school, at work, or on the bus, but you don't miss them when they're not around. When this kind of friend does something bad, you don't tell them.
The second kind of friend could also be called "guest friends". They are not as close as true friends. You know their names, a little of what they like or dislike, and a little of their family histories; you usually have a few things in common, but you don't talk about anything deep, such as your wishes or fears (害怕), and they don't open up to you how they really feel.
The last kind of friend, the "best friend", is the one you know the deepest. You're like family, and know everything about each other. They will correct you when you' re wrong, and though they may not be perfect, they at least will always care about you, and can not do anything bad to hurt you.
We all have our pest, guest, and best friends. We should value all friendships and remember, all best friends start out as just acquaintances.
66.If you and David are neighbors and classmates, and do things together, but don't share your feelings, you are “______”.
A. pest friends B. guest friends C. best friends D. not friends
67.The fourth paragraph mainly tells us ______.

C. what a "best friend" is D. what a best friend can do for you
68.From the passage,we can learn that ______.
A. pest friends are important than guest friends
B. we miss our pest friends when we' re not with them

Electric vehicles(电动汽车)or EVs recently have become more and more popular. Technological improvements, especially batteries(电池), make EVs rather than gas cars become more people's first choice.
Mueller, an expert in studying cars, explains why they are the future of cars. He writes, "I think EVs are the future. They have better torque(扭转力), acceleration(加速)and better control."
Best of all, you never have to visit a gas station. Every morning your car is charged(充电)and ready to go. And if you are worried about miles they can cover, that's not necessary. Almost all trips can be done in an EV with a proper battery. And fast chargers along the way make it possible to do longer road trips if necessary.
Besides, it's clean technology: a traditional gas car causes more than twice as carbon(碳)pollution as an EV. Even in places that get almost all of their electricity from burning coal(煤), an EV still pollutes less than a typical traditional gas car. Supposing a 10-year service life, a traditional car will let out 66,000 pounds more carbon pollution than an electric vehicle.
Human science technology is always moving forward. However, some challenges still remain about EVs. According to the present situation of EVs, scientists and researchers still have a long way to go.
70.EVs have become more popular than gas cars thanks to ______.
A. technological improvements B. social development
C. lower prices D. beautiful appearance
71.What can we know from the 4th paragraph?
A. EVs are always cleaner than gas cars.
B. Electricity is from burning coal in China.
C. A gas car causes less pollution than an EV.
D. A traditional car lets out 6,600 pounds of carbon a year.
72.What can be the best title for this text?
A. The Future of EVs in China B. EVs and Environmental Protection
C. EVs: The Future of Cars D. EVs Makes Our Life Better

The book says that getting angry only makes problems worse.Getting angry is not a natured (本性的) way to act.It is just a bad habit, like smoking.
★ Do something different. When you get angry, walk away from the problem and somewhere else. Try to laugh!

B. we miss our pest friends when we' re not with them
C. a best friend can not do anything bad to you
D. a "pest friend" will never become your best friend
69.Which of the following shows the structure of the passage?
A. B. C. D.
【答案】B、C、C、B
【解析】本文主要介绍了三种不同类型的朋友:"pest friends"(熟人)、"guest friends"(泛泛之交)和"best friends"(挚友),并阐述了它们的特点。
66.细节理解题。根据第三段"The second kind of friend could also be called 'guest friends'."(第二种朋友也可以被称为"泛泛之交"。)和"you usually have a few things in common, but you don't talk about anything deep, such as your wishes or fears (害怕),and they don't open up to you how they really feel."(你们通常有一些共同点,但你们不会深入谈论任何事情,比如你们的愿望或恐惧,而且他们也不会向你敞开心扉,告诉你他们的真实感受。)可知,对于guest friends我们不会分享我们内心的感受。故选B。
67.段落大意题。根据第四段"The last kind of friend, the 'best friend',is the one you know the deepest."(最后一种朋友,即所谓的"挚友",是那种你了解得最深的朋友。)可知,本段主要介绍了什么是最好的朋友。故选C。

71.细节理解题。根据第四段首句Besides,it's clean technology:a traditional gas car causes more than twice as carbon pollution as an EV.(此外,这是一种清洁技术:传统的燃气汽车造成的碳污染是电动汽车的两倍多。)可知,电动汽车总是比汽油车更清洁。故选A。
72.标题归纳题。根据第一段最后一句Technological improvements, especially batteries, make EVs rather than gas cars become more people's first choice.(技术进步,特别是电池,使电动汽车而不是燃气汽车成为更多人的首选。)及通读全文可知,文章主要介绍了未来的汽车世界将属于电动汽车的理由以及电动汽车可能存在的问题,以选项C"电动汽车:汽车的未来"为标题最合适。故选C。

Once upon a time, there was a man who raised a lot of sheep. One morning, when he went to count his sheep, he found that one sheep was missing. There was a hole in the sheepfold, and it was clear that a wolf had come at night and taken away the sheep.
His neighbor said to him, "You should fix the hole in the sheepfold right away, or more sheep will be lost." But the man replied, "The sheep has already gone. What's the use of repairing the sheepfold now? I think it's useless." So, he did nothing.
