根据“Be careful and try your best to make…mistakes.” 故填the fewest。

根据“So we have to get there before nine o’clock tomorrow.”

根据后文“all her friends left her”可知,Ella因视力问题彻底封闭自己。
“change”(改变)符合语境,与后文“new version of me”形成呼应。“decision”(决定)和“problem”(问题)与“改变生活”的语境不符。
【15题详解】
句意:脑肿瘤后,我无法做任何这些事。
根据“hadn’t been able to”可知,此处为否定句,需用“anything”表示“任何事”。“anything”用于否定句和疑问句,符合语境。“something”(某事)用于肯定句,“nothing”(无事)与否定动词“hadn’t been able to”语义重复,均不符合语境。
【16题详解】
句意:有Katie陪伴,Ella能回归原本想要的生活。
根据后文“attended university”可知,Ella重新过上了正常生活。“get back”(回归)符合语境,与“life she’d always wanted”形成呼应。“put on”(穿上)和“turn down”(拒绝)与“回归生活”的语境无关。
【17题详解】
句意:没有Katie,我无法完成过去几年成就的一半。
根据“done”可知,此处指已完成的成就。“achieved”(实现/达成)符合语境,直接对应“done”的动作结果。“expected”(期待)和“imagined”(想象)与“已完成”的语境不符。
【18题详解】
句意:Ella因视力丧失失去骑马信心。
根据前文“lost nearly all the sight”可知,此处指视力丧失。“sight”(视力)符合语境,与前文形成呼应。“hearing”(听力)和“heart”(心脏)与骑马信心无关,不符合语境。
【19题详解】
句意:她成为导盲犬的志愿者演讲者。
根据“free work”和“helping people”可知,Ella无偿为导盲犬组织工作。
(A)
Want to know what your friends are really like? Take a look at their music playlist More than 36,000 people, from all over the world, took part in an experiment. It compared their personalities (性格) with how much they liked different musical styles. The results show that personalities do influence what we listen to. Here’s what certain musical styles say about who you are.
Rock
Like the sound of loud guitars and heavy drum beats?
This type of music sounds very exciting, but fans of it are often quite gentle.
Country music
If cowboy (牛仔) hats and guitars get you singing along, it’s possible that you’re hard-working, preferring traditional styles and values.
Jazz (爵士乐)
Fans of this strong music always come up with new ideas and are good at learning. If you like the saxophone of John Coltrane, then you’re probably self-confident and easy to get on with.
Classical music
If Beethoven and Mozart have you turning up the music, you’re probably quiet, but happy with who you are and comfortable with the world around you.
But the experiment didn’t tell the whole story: where we grow up, who we often go out with, and our personal experiences play a role in our taste, too. The songs you choose to be part of your life make you different from others. But no matter what style you like, music is for everyone. And enjoying different types of music lets you get a taste of cultures you might not have experienced before. So experiment with your playlist!
21. What influences our musical taste according to the experiment?
A. Personalities. B. Friends. C. Parents.
22. According to the passage, if Daniel is creative, what may be found in his playlist?

23. Which of the following is Not True according to the passage?
A. Rock is a type of music that sounds exciting.
B. John does well in learning, he prefers classical music.

A. Changing our personalities.
B. Trying different types of music.

A. How different cultures influence you.
B. What your playlist says about you.
C. What songs we can choose to enjoy.

I was rolled and struck (捶打) over and over by my master. I shouted out, ‘Let me alone.’ But he only smiled, ‘Not yet.’ Then I was put on a wheel which was moving, and suddenly I was pushed to move around and around. ‘Stop!’ I cried. But my master only shook his head and said, ‘Not yet.’ Then he put me in the oven. I was fired at a very high heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I cried and knocked at the door. But he just shook his head.”
“Finally, the door opened. He put me on the table, and I began to become cool. Then I was polished.”
After that, my master brushed and painted me all over. How terrible the smell was! I thought I would die. ‘Stop!’ I cried. He only shook his head, ‘Not yet.’ Then suddenly he put me into the second oven. This oven was twice as hot as the first one and I couldn’t breathe at all. I begged (哀求). However, my master shook his head and said, ‘Not yet.’ I nearly lost hope. Just then, the door opened. He took me out and put me on the table again.”

As humans set their sights on deep space exploration, the moon becomes a stepping stone, with countries hoping to build lunar bases to support such missions (任务). To solve the “food” problem, scientists have been exploring the possibility of growing plants on the moon.
A new study by Chinese scientists has found that bacteria (细菌) from Earth could offer a solution.
Researchers from China Agricultural University tested five species (物种) of bacteria on a material that simulated (模拟) lunar soil. Within a period of 10 to 21 days, three of the bacteria species had doubled their amount of phosphorus (磷) content, a key element for plant growth.
They then grew model plants in lunar soil simulation with these three bacteria species. After six days, the plants had longer stems and roots compared to those without the bacteria. After 24 days, the plants had heavier, wider leaf clusters (叶簇). What’s more, levels of chlorophyll (叶绿素)—responsible for harvesting energy from light—in the model plants were about double those of the plants grown without bacteria.
“The study’s results are important for future long-term stays on the moon,” the study’s lead researcher, Sun Zhencai, told Xinhua. Earth bacteria may help astronauts make better use of lunar resources, such as creating lunar greenhouses. In their follow-up research, the scientists hope to experiment with real lunar soil samples (样本) and grow crops like rice, corn and potatoes.
As space missions get longer, bringing all the food needed is not practical. So “space planting” becomes really important.
The Shenzhou XVII astronauts on their visit to China's space station grew lettuce, scallion (葱) and cherry tomato. These “space gardens” provided the astronauts not only with food but also more oxygen and water.

How to Stay Safe Online
No matter whether you like it or not, social media is becoming a big part of many teenagers’ lives. The internet becomes more popular among young people in China. Are you curious about the future? What do you think our life will be like in 50 years or more? To answer this, you can choose a sci-fi book to read. Perhaps you will have some ideas then. Today, many young readers are interested in science fiction. But what makes it so popular?
For one thing, science fiction gives a chance to imagine what our future will be like. Anything is possible. We can dream big. Some people think there will be flying cars and robot servants. Others believe we will learn more about strange aliens and other worlds.
Another reason is that sci-fi writers and their work can inspire us to create the future. In 1945, a sci-fi author named Arthur C. Clarke wrote about a system of space stations. In the article, he predicted the earth of the future would have many TV stations and people would send TV programs around the world. However, this was before TV was a common item at home! In a short story by Clarke, he suggested people in the future would use a system to talk with others around the world. Amazingly, the short story was actually the inspiration for the internet!
Science fiction is also popular because it can make us think about our world in new ways. Although many sci-fi stories are set in imaginary worlds or societies, they can help us better understand the real world. They can also make us excited when we feel like we are living in a boring world.
What will the future be like? Sci-fi inspires us and helps us to understand what it could be like.

(A)
Want to know what your friends are really like?

One day, a couple wanted to buy a tea cup. So they went into a shop. They saw a beautiful one there. They asked, “May we see that? We’ve never seen such a beautiful one.” As the shopkeeper handed it to them, suddenly the tea cup spoke, “You don’t understand.” it said, “Once I was red and looked ugly.
“One hour later he handed me a mirror and said, ‘Look at yourself.’ And I did so. I was surprised and said, ‘That’s not me. Why am I so beautiful?’ ‘I want you to remember,’ my master said, ‘without those pains, you would never be a perfect product.’

According to a survey by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, over 90 percent of all Chinese minors (未成年人) use the internet and 50 percent of these young people have made new friends online.
People can connect with friends, share experiences, and stay on trend through social media in a short time. However, the internet also has risks. It is important to stay safe while having fun online. Here are some simple tips.
First, if you have accounts on different apps, make sure you use strong passwords. Avoid using easy-to-guess information, like your birthday or your pet’s name.
Second, be careful when you talk to strangers online. Not every person online is friendly or telling the truth about themselves. Don’t share personal details, like your address, school name, or phone number.
Third, if you want to post anything online, think it over. Once it is out there, it is hard to know who sees it. Don’t talk about things you may regret.
Lastly, keep your social media profiles private, so only real friends can see your posts and information. Remember, by following these tips, you can stay safe on social media and the internet. Your parents and teachers want the best for you. Be aware of the risks and protect yourself.
