B Fu Zai, a cute corgi (柯基) only six months old who has been trained to be China’s first corgi police dog, made his debut during the opening day of a police camp in Weifang, Shandong Province. As he became the center of attention at the camp, it once again broke people’s stereotype that “little short legs” cannot join the police force. Unlike those long-limbed dogs full of strength and vigor, Fu Zai quickly went viral online thanks to his iconic smile, distinctive short legs and excellent explosion device-seeking abilities. As a reserve police dog, Fu Zai faces a “heavy workload”: training is scheduled for every morning and afternoon, involving a variety of subjects, such as obedient exercising, bomb search, sniffing techniques and so on. Throughout the whole process, Fu Zai stood out and outperformed many of his peers at two months old. However, some have doubted whether this adorable police dog can actually overcome obstacles and chase down suspects. In the face of questioning, Fu Zai performed admirably, thanks to its unique advantages in the training. “His strong environmental adaptability, insensitivity, his desire for possession of items and his fondness of food make him ideally suited for our training.” said Wang Yanan, head of the police dog base of the Weifang public security bureau. Following four months of training, Fu Zai now can take advantage of his short legs to directly probe beneath the car and easily get into and search narrow spaces. He can also improve interactions between police dogs and the public because of his amiable appearance. “Police dogs are not only cute, but trainers have done a lot of work and effort to train them.” said Wang. Fu Zai is still naive as a reserve police dog and must undergo a period of further training to adapt to the complex environment before he will be officially appointed and given assignments. 4 What does the underlined word “debut” in paragraph 1 most probably mean? A. First public appearance. B. Formal training session. C. Important achievement. D. Official appointment. 5. Which of the following is TRUE about Fu Zai according to the passage? A. He is famous for his look and short legs. B. He is now serving as an official police dog. C. His daily work is chasing and catching suspects. D. He performed well in training at a very early age. 6. What are Fu Zai’s unique advantages mentioned by the trainer Wang Yanan? ①Preference for food. ②Intense desire for object possession. ③High sensitivity to external distractions. ④Natural ability to overcome high obstacles. ⑤Excellent ability to adapt to the environment. A. ①②③ B. ①②⑤ C. ①③④ D. ②④⑤ 7. What is the main purpose of the last paragraph? A. To show how strict police dog training is. B. To contrast reserve and official police dogs. C. To note the complex environment facing Fu Zai. D. To stress needed training before Fu Zai’s full role. C Many things can now be bought using buy-now, pay-later (BNPL) financing. Such purchases are often the subject of ridicule (嘲笑). Paying for lunch in installments (分期付款) is, to some, consumerism at its most absurd. Others see something darker: lending that skirts the edge of mainstream finance, targeting unstable borrowers. Neither ridicule nor anxiety has weakened the industry’s growth, however. The idea of a loan at the point of sale is an old one. In 1856, Isaac Singer and Edward Clark began selling sewing machines in installments, with great success. The modern industry operates in a similar manner. When a customer buys a product for $100, they can pay in stages. The BNPL lender pays the merchant in advance, in exchange for a cut of, say, $3. This is attractive to retailers (零售商), since it boosts sales. The customer pays back the sum over time, with zero interest. BNPL plans promise freedom and flexibility, but the ease of use can fool our minds. When payment is delayed or divided into smaller payments, we are wired to feel less emotionally exhausted. Although the £15 or $25 payments seem insignificant, they quickly add up. Prelec & Loewenstein found that when the act of paying is separated from the act of purchasing, we experience less “pain of paying”, which makes us more likely to overspend. This psychological disconnection allows people to underestimate the long-term cost of their spending and often leads to impulsive financial decisions. In societies where digital credit is easily accessible but financial education is limited, these behaviors can develop into chronic debt. Stress over money doesn’t stay in the bank. It follows us into our homes, our relationships, and even our sleep. The psychological cost can be severe when financial strain affects daily survival, such as paying for food, housing, or education. Even middle and high income earners report significant mental distress when caught in cycles of lifestyle-driven debt because of the pressure. 8. What can we learn about the BNPL industry from paragraph 1? A. It faces no public criticism. B. It replaces mainstream finance. C. It targets poor borrowers. D. It maintains strong growth. 9. What is the probable reason why retailers favor to do BNPL service? A. It provides payment in advance. B. It charges minimal fees. C. It generates more profits. D. It offers interest-free loans. 10. What results from reduced “pain of paying”? A. Higher spending goals. B. More unplanned purchases. C. Lowered long-term costs. D. Improved financial decisions. 11. What is the author’s attitude towards BNPL? A. Supportive. B. Critical. C. Objective. D. Subjective. D A tiny wireless chip placed at the back of the eye, combined with a pair of advanced smart glasses, has partially restored vision to people suffering from an advanced form of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). In a clinical study led by Stanford Medicine and international collaborators, 27 of the 32 participants regained the ability to read within a year of receiving the implant. The implant, named PRIMA and developed at Stanford Medicine, is the first artificial eye device to restore usable vision to individuals with otherwise untreatable vision loss. The technology enables patients to recognize patterns, a level of vision known as form vision. “All previous attempts to provide vision with artificial devices resulted in basically light sensitivity, not really form vision,” said Daniel Palanker, “We are the first to provide form vision.” The system includes two main parts: a small camera attached to a pair of glasses and a wireless chip implanted in the retina. The camera captures visual information and projects it through infrared light to the implant, which turns it into electrical signals. These signals substitute for the damaged photoreceptors that normally detect light and send visual data to the brain. Participants in the latest trial had an advanced stage of AMD known as geographic atrophy, which progressively destroys central vision. This condition affects over 5 million people worldwide and is the leading cause of changeless blindness among older adults. The implant, measuring just 2 by 2 millimeters, is placed in the area of the retina where photoreceptors have been lost. Unlike natural photoreceptors that respond to visible light, the chip detects infrared light emitted from the glasses. “The projection is done by infrared because we want to make sure it’s invisible to the remaining photoreceptors outside the implant,” Palanker said. This design allows patients to use both their natural surrounding vision and the new artificial central vision at the same time, improving their ability to orient themselves and move around. 12. What can be inferred about initial artificial eye devices? A. They targeted patients with early macular degeneration. B. They helped patients regain the ability to read. C. They failed to help patients recognize basic shapes. D. They tried to rely on visible light to transmit signals. 13. What is paragraph 3 mainly about? A. How the PRIMA system works. B. How the damaged photoreceptors function. C. How the infrared light transmits signals. D. How the smart glasses capture images. 14. Why does the researcher use the infrared light? A. To improve light sensitivity. B. To cure geographic atrophy. C. To fit the remaining photoreceptors. D. To avoid affecting natural vision. 15. Which of the following is the best title for the passage? A. A new cure for blindness. B. A new trail for PRIMA. C. A new hope for AMD patients. D. It’s the vast network of chemical reactions inside your cells and tissues that power everything you do. Still, most of us reduce it to a single number: the calories burned at any given time. That’s where “metabolic rate” comes in — the primary measure of how fast your metabolism is running. In simple terms, it’s the energy you use just lying still, the bare minimum your body needs to keep the lights on. ____18____ Many people think slim individuals have a fast metabolism. They believe this lets them burn calories without effort. ____19____ Metabolic rate is mostly driven by body size — the more there is to maintain, the more energy the body uses. Even so, body weight alone is a rough measure. Two people weigh the same, but how that weight is made up can make a big difference. The balance between fat and muscle composition shapes metabolic rate too. ____20____ This helps explain why men often have higher metabolic rates than women at the same weight, and why metabolic differences aren’t as dramatic as we think. A. So what exactly defines metabolism? B. But that’s not really how the body works. C. Men have much more active muscle than women. D. Body size plays a more important role than muscle. E. Men usually have more muscle and less fat than women. F. In reality, it’s larger bodies that have faster metabolisms. G. It’s the key assessment people use to judge their metabolic health. Recently divorced and jobless, I needed to find work. I had a head-on collision on my way home from work. Miraculously, both vehicles were destroyed but no one was seriously injured. My best friend Lisa, who had always stood by me, rushed to the hospital immediately, holding my hand tightly and whispering comfort, her eyes filled with worry and relief that I was alive. In the months before the accident, my life had been a whirlwind of confusion and pain. Six months earlier, I was already struggling with a back injury when my husband of seventeen years announced he wanted to separate. Lisa dropped everything that night, brought my favorite hot soup, and sat with me until dawn, letting me cry on her shoulder silently. A month later, my beloved grandmother died from fall complications, and my dad had a stroke the next month. My husband moved out right before Christmas, but Lisa stayed with me through it all. She visited my dad in the hospital with me, helped sort my grandmother’s things, and stayed on Christmas Eve to keep me from being alone. Now, instead of escaping my troubles, I had new ones: physical pain, minor cosmetic issues, and, even worse, the fear of driving again. Lisa never left my side—she helped me file claims, accompanied me to doctor’s appointments, and gently encouraged me, reminding me I was stronger than I thought. “Do you see it now? You survived a head-on collision without serious injuries. You have gone through so much but your life still has possibilities.” Moved by her words, I refuse to stay broken and decided to emerge better and stronger. Determined to face my fear of driving, I started with the smallest step. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Months later, I felt an overall change. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 高三英语试题 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $江西省重点中学协作体2026届高三第一次联考英语试卷 参考答案 第一部分(每小题1.5分,满分30分) 1-5 CABAC 6-10 CBCAA 11-15 BBACA 1620 CCBAB 第二部分阅读理解(每小题2.5分,满分50分) 21-23 BCA 24-27ADBD 28-31 DCBC 32-35 CADC 36-40 BAGFE 第三部分英语知识运用 第一节完形填空(每小题1分,满分15分) 41-45 CACDB 46-50 ACBDB 51-55 ABADC 第二节语法填空(每小题1.5分,满分15分) 56.on 57.perfectly 58.descriptions 59.shaped 60.representing 61.whose 62.to face 63.the 64.ecological 65.approaches 第四部分写作(共两节,满分40分) 第一节 Dear Jack, I'm thrilled to know that you're curious about the 2025 Gan Super League! It's held to popularize football in Jiangxi and strengthen friendship between cities. Determined to face my fear of driving,I started with the smallest step. With Lisa beside me,I took my first slow drive around the empty parking lot.My hands clenched the steering wheel tightly, memories of the collision flashing back.Sensing my tension,Lisa placed a reassuring hand on mine and whispered that I was brave enough to try.Gradually,I gathered the courage to drive from the parking lot to my neighborhood gate.Every small progress was cheered by her,and the fear in my heart faded little by little. Months later,I felt an overall change. The physical pain was gone, and I no longer dwelled on the minor cosmetic marks. One sunny morning,I drove myself to the local market for the first time since the accident. The heavy grief that once filled my chest had now made room for quiet gratitude and gentle hope.I even started volunteering, helping run a small support group.Lisa was right-my journey wasn't over. The scars, both visible and hidden, were no longer just wounds; they had become reminders that I could bend, but I would not break. Text 1 M:Today is the Lantern Festival.I've made some lanterns and bought some tangyuan. Gallivare部分指出“Dundret..offers slopes and summits for aurora viewing with guided tours available'”,由此可知三个地点的共同点是都提供有向导的北极光观赏之旅,与选项C一致。 根据第三段最后一句“Throughout the whole process,,Fu Zai stood out and outperformed many of his peers at two months old.” 最后一段的核心内容为“Fu Zai is still naive as a reserve police dog and must undergo a period of further training...before he will be officially appointed and given assignments”,整段围绕福仔的现状展开,核心写作目的是强调福仔在正式履职前,接 受后续训练的必要性。 根据第一段最后一句“Neither ridicule nor anxiety has weakened the industry's growth,.however..” A项“它没有面临公众批评”与原文“Such purchases are often the subject of ridicule” 相悖;B项“它取代了主流金融”,原文仅提及它“skirts the edge of mainstream finance”,并 未说取代主流金融;C项“它针对贫穷的借款人”,和原文“targeting unstable borrowers”表 述不符。 根据题干关键词“reduced pain of paying'”定位到第三段“we experience less 'pain of paying',which makes us more likely to overspend...often leads to impulsive financial decisions”,冲动消费即无计划的消费行为。 根据第二段中“All previous attempts to provide vision with artificial devices resulted in basically light sensitivity,.not really form vision”可知,以往的人工眼部设备 只能让患者感知光线,无法实现形状识别。 故选A项。 The projection is done by infrared because we want to make sure it's invisible to the remaining photoreceptors outside the implant,"Palanker said. This design allows patients to use both their natural surrounding vision and the new artificial central vision at the same time..” B.But that's not really how the body works A.So what exactly defines metabolism?(那么 到底什么是新陈代谢呢?) G.It's the key assessment people use to judge their metabolic health(它是人 们判断自身代谢健康的关键指标)中的“It”指代前文的“metabolic rate'”,承接前文内容并 点明其作用。 F.n reality,it's larger bodies that have faster metabolisms(事实上,体型较大的人新陈代谢才更快)既否定了前文“苗条的人代谢 快”的误解,又呼应了后文“体型决定代谢率”的结论。 E.Men usually have more muscle and less fat than women(男性通常比女性肌肉更多、脂肪更少)正好衔接前文的“身 体成分影响代谢率”和后文的“男女代谢率差异”,形成完整的逻辑链。 revise(修订)、witness(目 睹)、search(搜寻,后常接for)均不符。 根据前文“Recently divorced and jobless”及“what could I do”, 可知作者多年未工作,“out of the workforce”为固定表达,意为“失业,脱离劳动力市场”。 B(环境)、C(结构)、D(专栏)均无此搭配,且语义不符,故排除。 根据后文“Though it was a bit exaggerated,it was not a total lie”, 可知作者虽有夸大,但仍自信地列出了年轻时的工作经历,“confidently”(自信地)与语境 一致。 B(菜单)、C(订单)、D(日程表) 均未体现“日常重复的工作流程”,故排除。 A(尴 尬的)、B(兴奋的)、D(恼怒的)均不符合“突然面对大量顾客”的情绪反应,故排除。 A(传递)、C(递给)、D(选 择)均无法体现“紧张匆忙”的语境,故排除。 A(实现)、B(证明)、C(展示) 均与“口音的来源”无关,故排除。 B(老板)、C(编辑)、D(就餐者)均与作者的 职业不符,故排除。 A(着陆于…) 根据前文“cried a little, then laughed too”,可知作者在情绪 平复后回到餐桌再次道歉,“composing oneself'”为固定搭配,意为“镇定下来,平复情绪”。 A(警告)、B(申请)、C(质疑)均无此搭配,且语义不符,故排除。 A(账单,需顾客支付的费用);B(笔记);D(车费)均与“用餐后留下”的 逻辑不符,故排除。 第二节(共10小题;每小题1.5分,满分15分) 56.on 57.perfectly 58.descriptions 59.shaped 60.representing 61.whose 62.to face 63.the 64. ecological 65.approaches 【语篇导读】本文是一篇说明文。 “on Chinese New Year'sEve”是固定搭配,意为“在除夕夜”, 特指具体的节日夜晚需用介词on,故填on。 句中己有谓语show,此处需用非谓语动词作状 语;主语its smooth, dignified form and elegant dark blue-black color与represent(象征)之间 为主动关系,应用现在分词形式representing,故填representing。 名词courage(勇气)后常接不定式作后置定语,构成固 定搭配“the courage to do sth.”,意为“做某事的勇气”,故填to face。 名词短 语celebrated Tang Dynasty“three-color'”glaze horse被后置定语unearthed from the Mausoleum of Princess Yongtai所限定,表示独一无二的特定事物,应用定冠词the。 I'm thrilled to know that you're curious about the 2025 Gan Super League! It's held to popularize football in Jiangxi and strengthen friendship between cities.
