For a moment, the crowded train car felt like a tiny concert hall, filled not with heat and impatience, but with harmony. It was still hot and sticky inside the car, but something had changed. One by one, passengers lifted their heads, listening. The young boy’s swaying turned into clapping, his laughter breaking through the dull silence. A few others began humming along, and even his mother put down her phone. When the song ended, coins and bills appeared in the man’s cap from every direction. He stood taller, pride glowing in his smile, and I felt a quiet joy — proof that even in a weary city, music could open hearts and bring strangers together. 词类激活 行为类 ①走向:walk toward/approach ②交织:blend/mix ③抬起:lift/raise 情绪类 ①温情:warmth/affection ②感激的:grateful/appreciative 【点睛】【高分句型1】He looked up and slowly walked toward me, his eyes shining with surprise and warmth.(运用了“名词+现在分词”的独立主格结构) 【高分句型2】 He stood taller, pride glowing in his smile, and I felt a quiet joy — proof that even in a weary city, music could open hearts and bring strangers together.(运用了that引导的同位语从句) 附:听力原文: 1. 【原文】M: Bill H was great last night, wasn’t he? AI consumes large amounts of energy: a single ChatGPT response uses around 10 times the electricity of a Google search, and its more than 400 million weekly active users increase demand. DeepSeek claimed higher energy efficiency but also faced doubts, keeping AI’s energy use a persistent concern. Here is the daily energy comparison between ChatGPT and Google search. Operation Type Energy Per Search Daily Energy Use ChatGPT Response 0.0029 kWh 621.4 MWh Google Search 0.0003 kWh 10.8 MWh Given the energy consumption, AI adoption won’t slow as firms view it as essential, so a smart strategy is needed to employ AI’s benefits while meeting sustainable goals. Luckily, industry experts are developing various solutions to address this challenge. The AI-related energy risks have gained visibility, triggering public awareness and action. Yet focusing on energy alone cannot break the cycle of compounding environmental and operational pressures. “To address AI-energy risks and unlock long-term value, companies and investors must move beyond their narrow roles in the AI value chain. They should pursue strategies that create shared value by advancing business goals while benefiting society and the environment,” notes Lauren Smart in World Economic Forum. 21.How much more daily energy does ChatGPT consume than Google Search? A.632.2 MWh. B.621.4 MWh. C.610.6 MWh. D.10.8 MWh. 22.Which of the following is an effective measure to cut AI energy use? A.Adopting energy-saving chips. B.Selecting larger models. C.Establishing more data centers. D.Encouraging firm competitions. 23.According to Lauren Smart, AI companies should adopt a mission that . A.creates shared value B.gains public recognition C.follows existing regulations D.maximizes investor’s profits B At the airport, a security (安全) problem left my wife Cherié and me in a huge line, waiting to fly home to Cincinnati. Just as we accepted the wait, I worried a lot: I’d left our new camera, which cost $1, 500, in the rental car. I rushed to call the taxi company, and to my relief, they said the driver was coming to return the camera. When meeting me, he even turned down the reward I offered. When I got the camera and returned to the line to wait, the crowd had grown even bigger. I was sure I’d miss our flight. Then a security officer walked over, smiling. “People like you have a special entrance — no need to wait in line,” he said, gesturing for me to follow. He explained this special channel (通道) was set up to keep crowds orderly, and then he talked excitedly about my “movies” — Solo: A Star Wars Story, Champions and Now You See Me. That’s when I realized: he thought I was Woody Harrelson, an actor I’m always mistaken for. When he asked about the Champions cast, I laughed and said I hadn’t seen them in forever. As we reached a private security room, fear hit — I didn’t want trouble from the mix-up. I tried to show my ID, but he waved it off. “People like you use false names, right?” he said. I quickly said the first name that came to mind: “Karl Haffner”. Later I realized Karl and Woody share strange similarities — the same hometown, height, even eating only plants. Before I knew it, I was through security and waiting at the gate with the camera. Cherié looked at me with wide eyes, saying, “How did you cut the line?” I smiled broadly, holding up the camera. “Call me Woody—I got through the airport’s special channel for public figures,” I said. She rolled her eyes but laughed when I told her the story. To this day, I still feel special, for the happy mistake that reminded me: life’s best moments aren’t planned. A little mix-up and lots of laughter are all you need to make a trip unforgettable. 24.Why did the author phone the taxi company? A.To get the lost camera. B.To book another taxi ride. C.To return the rental camera. D.To express thanks for the service. 25.What happened to the author when he was waiting in line again? A.He kept the crowds orderly. B.He met Woody Harrelson. C.He was mistaken for an actor. D.He talked about his movies. 26.How did Cherié feel when seeing her husband according to paragraph 4? A.Annoyed. B.Frightened. C.Anxious. D.Curious. 27.What can be a suitable title for the text? A.Going with the Flow B.Believing in Strangers C.Enjoying a Happy Mistake D.Buying a Ticket to Life C A corn plant knows how to find water in soil with the very tips of its roots, but some varieties, including many used for developing high-output corn in the U.S., appear to have lost part of that ability, according to a Stanford-led study. With climate change increasing droughts, the findings hold potential for developing more drought-resistant (抗旱的) varieties of corn. The study, published in the journal Science, uncovers genetic-mechanisms (遗传机制) behind “hydropatterning (水力模式)”, or how plant roots branch toward water and avoid dry spaces in soil. In particular, the researchers discovered that ethylene, a plant hormone (激素) known to help bananas ripen, also influences how roots grow to seek water. For this study, the researchers developed a new, simplified way to study water sensitivity in roots. They found corn varieties adapted to hot and wet regions like Mexico were very good at making new root branches toward water and avoiding dry areas. In contrast, the varieties adapted to moderate regions of North America frequently grew roots randomly without distinguishing between dry and wet areas in the soil. “Interestingly, the plants that are better at sensing where the water is are also making deeper root systems,” said lead author Johannes Scharwies. “One idea is that if the plant doesn’t waste time growing root branches into places where it doesn’t find any water and nutrients, then it has more energy to grow deeper down where water is more likely.” Genetic analyses reveal two plant hormones, auxin and ethylene, play a role in how corn roots respond to water. While auxin was already known to help control this process, ethylene’s involvement was a new discovery. In experiments with thale cress—a model plant often used in research—the researchers found auxin signaling promotes root branch development toward water, while ethylene stops branching when the root is exposed to air. Further research is needed to better understand the interaction of these genetic pathways before corn varieties can be developed with more drought-resistant root systems, but the findings highlight the significance of studying these localized responses at root tips, researchers said. 28.What is the primary focus of the Stanford-led study? A.Drought-resistant corn varieties. B.Ethylene’s effect on fruit ripening. C.Genetic control of root branching. D.Impact of climate change on plant roots. 29.What can be inferred from Johannes Scharwies’ remarks? A.Plant hormones make a big difference to root growth. B.Nutrients guarantee better water-seeking root systems. C.Root branching conserves energy for higher production. D.Stronger hydropatterning was linked to greater root depth. 30.What can we learn about ethylene from paragraph 5? A.It has long been known to control corn roots’ response to water. B.It works with auxin to promote root branching toward water. C.It prevents root branching when the root comes into contact with air. D.It is the only plant hormone affecting corn roots’ water response. 31.What does the last paragraph suggest future research do? A.Prioritize development of new corn varieties. B.Work out the mechanisms of genetic interactions. C.Concentrate merely on localized root responses. D.Expand practical applications of hydropatterning. D Imagine an artificial intelligence model that can watch and understand moving images like you and me. Now, scientists have made this a reality by creating MovieNet: an innovative AI that processes videos much like how our brains interpret real-life scenes. This brain-inspired AI model can perceive dynamic scenes by simulating (模拟) how neurons (神经元) make real-time sense of the world. While conventional AI excels at still image recognition, MovieNet is designed to understand complex, dynamic scenes, allowing it to recognize tiny changes over time. To create MovieNet, Hollis Cline, senior author of the study, examined how animals’ brains process real-world scenes. Specifically, he studied how tadpoles’ (蝌蚪的) neurons respond to moving stimuli. Tadpoles’ neurons process these visual inputs like solving puzzle pieces: each piece alone may not make sense, but together they form a complete image in motion. Different neurons process various “puzzle pieces” of a real-life moving image, which the brain then combines to form a continuous scene. Using this understanding, the researchers trained MovieNet to process video clips by identifying small visual signals, allowing it to distinguish between small changes in scenes. In testing, MovieNet achieved 82.3% accuracy, outperforming trained human observers by 18% and doing much better than existing AI models. Beyond its higher accuracy, MovieNet is more environment-friendly. Conventional AI requires vast amounts of data and energy, but MovieNet compresses (压缩) data like a zipped file, reducing environmental impact. “We’ve also made AI far less demanding,” says Cline. MovieNet could also transform medicine. It might help detect early signs of diseases by tracking small movement changes that are difficult for human eyes to detect. Looking ahead, the team plans to improve MovieNet’s ability to adapt to different environments and enhance its potential applications. “By designing models that think like living organisms (有机体), we can achieve efficiency levels that aren’t possible with traditional AI,” says Cline, “Biology is a gold mine.” 32.How is MovieNet differnet from conventional AI models ? A.It can spot small changes over time. B.It is better at recognizing still images. C.It can interpret real-life scenes of the world. D.It can create videos with more complex images. 33.MovieNet is trained ________. A.to increase visual inputs. B.to integrate dynamic images. C.to feed on information pieces. D.to look into tadpoles’ neurons. 34.According to paragraph 5, what is an advantage of MovieNet? A.Its powerful data storage. B.Its low energy consumption. C.Its control of medical diseases. D.Its improvement on drug effects. 35.What can be concluded from Cline’s words in the last paragraph? A.Biology brings us financial profits. B.Living organisms can outperform AI. C.AI can assist in biological development. D.Drawing inspiration from biology is promising. 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Rejection creates an emotional roller coaster (过山车). We feel the sadness, anger, and loss of the person who rejects us. 36 This is why getting over a rejection is challenging. While there is no quick fix, the following suggestions can help us overcome the confusion and ease the pain of rejection. Use the power of breath. 37 And each one affects the others. Deep breaths help us absorb the feelings and restore a sense of calm. Mindful breathing is one of the most powerful and accessible resources for self-regulation, relaxation, and overall well-being. We can also use breath to move our attention from disturbing thoughts back to ourselves. Note it down in a journal. Journaling provides a safe place without fear of misunderstanding. In moments of sadness and loss, the weight of emotions can be very great. 38 It allows us to explore our thoughts, feelings, and memories, process our experiences and find relief in pain. Learn to give to others. The acts of serving and giving to others are powerful and helpful. When we support others, especially during difficult times, something within also starts to heal (愈合) and grow. 39 When we connect with people who are less fortunate, we start to realize that our pain is less significant. Giving to others also empowers us. It gives us a sense of self-worth and moves us away from the hurt. Getting over a rejection is hard. However, your pain won’t last forever. It is there to make you grow. Everyone heals from rejection at their own pace in their own way. We are all suffering in one way or another at one time or another. We must have pity for ourselves and accept that reality. It’s important to take your time to deal with rejection and to use the practices suggested to heal and move on to the new opportunities life presents us. 40 A.Our self-respect is hurt as well. B.It is necessary to offer and accept. C.It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. D.Accepting others’ offer makes us feel hopeful. E.It is connected to the body, emotions and thoughts. F.Writing serves as a powerful tool to unburden our inner selves. G.Helping others provides us with a sense of purpose and deep satisfaction. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 I was offered a “great” professional opportunity appealing to everyone in my field. I had brunch with a friend and picked up my new glasses. All done and headed back on the train. I wanted to yell at a couple of people for their rude behavior, but wisely just sat quietly. An old black gentleman entered the far end of the train car. In worn but neat clothes, he tipped his faded cap and greeted everyone with a warm “Good afternoon, folks.” Most ignored him, with cold blank faces. Then, he started to sing. I didn’t turn my head, but I felt a smile in my soul. Many people ask for money on the train, but I always feel happy when someone offers music instead. It feels like a gift. I let the notes settle in for a second before my eyes wandered. A young boy across from me, maybe ten, watched him, swaying (摇摆) to the rhythm, his mother too distracted by her phone to notice. He started his second song and my heart did a happy dance. “Lean on me, when you’re not strong. I’ll be your friend...” I love that song! Without thinking, I softly sang a little harmony with him. Right away, I decided he could have the $5 bill in my purse. He looked tall and thin, but he had a strong voice and kind energy. Life had clearly been hard for him, but he still stood tall and carried himself with quiet dignity. I rolled the bill tightly and waited for him to make his way to me. He held the overhead bar to steady himself as he inched down the car, pausing briefly beside each seat like he was waiting for a sign — though no one glanced up. No one was making any moves to give him coins or reach for their wallet. 注意:(1) 续写词数应为 150 左右;(2) 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Paragraph 1: Somehow, he noticed me singing along. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: It was still hot and sticky inside the car, but something had changed. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
