二、阅读理解(共20小题;每小题2分,满分40分)
阅读下列短文,从题后所给的 A、B、C、D 四个选项中选出最佳答案。
A
In today's world, all people and organizations are closely connected. A company's success is not only about how much money it makes. More and more, a strong promise to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is very important for its long-term success. But what is CSR exactly? To put it simply, it means a company tries hard on its own to help society, do the right things, and reduce harm to the environment and communities.
A responsible company usually does these key things:
* Environmental Protection: Companies try to cut down pollution, save resources, and use green methods, such as using clean energy and reducing waste.
*Fair Work Rules: Companies make sure their workers get fair pay, work in safe places, and are treated with respect—including those who work in their supply chains.
*Helping Local Communities: Businesses actively help local people through donations, volunteer work, and supporting schools or cultural activities.
*Being Open and Responsible: Companies tell the truth about how they affect society and the environment. They often report their progress and take responsibility for their actions.
*Protecting Customers: Companies care most about customers' safety, privacy and fair treatment. They provide good products and honest advertisements.
Why is CSR important? A good CSR plan makes a company's brand more popular and makes customers more loyal. People are more willing to support companies that share their values. Workers also like their jobs more and are proud to work for responsible companies, so fewer of them leave. On the other hand, if a company ignores CSR, it may face public criticism, legal problems, and a bad reputation.
Building a responsible company culture takes time and effort—it is not something that can be done quickly. It needs leaders to keep their promise and put good values into every business decision. However, the rewards—a good brand name, loyal customers, and a better future for everyone—are definitely worth the effort.

For people in Fujian, tea is more than just a drink—it is a way of life. Lin Xiao, a 29-year-old tea master from Xiamen, wants to share this quiet beauty with the world. Her tea house, "Cloud & Leaf," is in Shanghai. She makes a menu that brings old Fujian tea ways into new and modern life. She uses good Fujian tea leaves and fresh local things to make drinks with soft and nice tastes.
Her tea house is also very beautiful to look at. When people come to "Cloud & Leaf," they don't just drink tea—they feel calm and happy. Some tea sets look like small works of art, with soft colors and careful designs. Her tea not only tastes smooth and special, but also makes people feel at peace.
Lin Xiao loved tea when she was a child in Xiamen. She remembers her grandfather making tea slowly, and the room smelled of soft, good tea. After college, she learned more about tea in Japan. She learned new tea skills, then came back to China to mix these skills with old Fujian tea ways.
Today, Lin Xiao is a well-known tea master and tea house owner. She has another tea house and made a short film about tea. "I want people to feel the true Fujian in my tea," she says. "The soft taste, the old stories, and the quiet love—all of this is in the cup."

Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere in our lives today. It is not just in big computers or science fiction movies—it helps us in small, useful ways every day.
In schools, AI is changing how students learn. Some apps use AI to create personalized study plans. They can find out what a student is good at and what they need to practice more. Teachers also use AI to grade papers faster, so they have more time to help students in class.
In hospitals, AI helps doctors and nurses. It can look at X-rays or other medical images to find health problems early. This can save lives by catching diseases before they get worse. Some hospitals even use AI robots to help move patients or deliver medicine, which takes work off busy staff.
AI is also making travel safer and easier. Self-driving cars use AI to see the road, follow traffic rules, and avoid accidents. Apps for finding buses or trains use AI to predict when vehicles will arrive, so people can plan their trips better.
At home, AI makes life more fun. Smart speakers like Siri or Alexa use AI to answer questions, play music, or control lights and TVs. Video games use AI to create smart, challenging opponents that make games more exciting.
Some people worry about AI, like whether it will take jobs or invade privacy. But experts say that if we use AI carefully, it can help us solve big problems and make the world a better place.
26.What is the main idea of the passage?
A. AI is only used in science fiction movies.
B. AI helps us in many different areas of daily life.
C. AI will take all jobs from people.
D. AI is not useful in hospitals.
27.How does AI help students in schools?
A. It gives students all the answers to tests.
B. It creates personalized study plans.
C. It replaces all teachers in classrooms.
D. It makes homework harder for students.
28.What can AI do in hospitals according to the passage?
A. It can perform all surgeries by itself.
B. It can look at medical images to find health problems.
C. It can make all patients feel no pain.
D. It can replace all doctors and nurses.
29.How does AI help with travel?
A. It makes self-driving cars safer.
B. It makes all buses and trains faster.
C. It stops all traffic accidents forever.
D. It makes travel more expensive.
30.What do experts say about AI?
A. AI is always dangerous and should be banned.
B. AI can help solve big problems if used carefully.
C. AI will never be useful in the future.
D. AI will invade everyone's privacy.

Zhang Daqian is widely regarded as one of the most brilliant and influential artists in 20th-century China. His works, which span both traditional Chinese ink painting and Western art forms, have captivated audiences worldwide and earned him a reputation as a "modern master."
Born in 1899 in Neijiang, Sichuan Province, Zhang grew up in a family with a deep appreciation for art. His mother, a skilled embroiderer, and his elder sister, who was a painter, nurtured his artistic talent from an early age. At 17, he left his hometown to study in Shanghai, where he was exposed to the works of ancient Chinese masters and began to develop his own unique style.
In the 1920s, Zhang traveled extensively throughout China, copying the paintings of famous artists from the Tang, Song, and Yuan dynasties. This rigorous training allowed him to master the techniques of traditional Chinese painting, including the use of ink, color, and brushwork. However, he was not content to simply imitate the past. He began to experiment with new forms and ideas, incorporating elements of Western art, such as perspective and shading, into his works.
In the 1940s, Zhang made a significant journey to Dunhuang, where he spent two years studying and copying the ancient murals in the Mogao Caves. This experience had a profound impact on his art, inspiring him to create bold, vibrant works that combined the grandeur of the Dunhuang murals with his own innovative style. His paintings from this period, such as "Lotus" and "Peach Blossoms," are celebrated for their rich colors and dynamic compositions.
In the 1950s, Zhang moved to Hong Kong and later to Brazil, where he continued to create and exhibit his works. He also traveled to Europe and the United States, where his paintings were met with great acclaim. He became the first Chinese artist to hold a solo exhibition at the Louvre Museum in Paris, a milestone that helped to introduce Chinese art to a global audience.
Zhang Daqian's legacy extends far beyond his own lifetime. His ability to blend traditional Chinese art with modern influences, his mastery of technique, and his innovative spirit have inspired generations of artists. Today, his paintings are highly sought after by collectors and museums around the world, and his influence on the development of modern Chinese painting remains unparalleled.

12.下文男士回答 “I'd love to!”,表明此处是女士发出邀请 “Would you like to bring some homemade snacks for everyone?”(C)。
13.上文男士问是否熟悉图书分类,女士回答 “Yes” 后,补充 “In our community, we organize a 'Book Swap Corner' every month to share reading resources.”(B),说明自己有相关经验。
14.下文男士回答 “No problem!”,表明此处是女士提出请求 “Can you help us design some eye-catching posters for the event?”(A)。
15.下文女士回答了见面的时间和地点,表明此处是男士询问 “What time and where should we meet to prepare?”(D)。
未使用的两个干扰项:E,G
E. It's very kind of you to take on this important task.“你能承担这么重要的任务,真是太好了。”
That sounds like a great way to connect with neighbors.“这听起来是个和邻居们搞好关系的好办法。”
A
In today's world, all people and organizations are closely connected.

Friday, May 30th. Sunny
Today, I joined my classmates in a charity sale volunteer activity on the school playground.
We gathered at 2 p.m. and first received training on the sale process and communication skills. Then, we put on our volunteer badges and got to work. Some of us arranged the booths and sorted out the items for sale, like books, stationery, and handicrafts. Others introduced the goods to teachers and students, helped them choose, and collected the money. After the sale, we cleaned up the area and counted the donations together.
Though we were a bit tired, we felt really fulfilled. This experience not only improved our organizational and communication skills but also taught us the importance of teamwork. I’m proud that we could raise money to help those in need.
