Going back to college is a chance to improve your work opportunities, but figuring out how to pay tuition(学费) can be difficult for many.
What Is a Tuition Payment Plan?
A tuition payment plan breaks up your college tuition bill into equal payments across the academic year. You might also see these called deferred(延期的) payment plans.Payment plans are short-term options, lasting from a few months to one year depending on what a given school offers.
To join, you’ll pay a small amount of money($15-$200),but this is still cheaper than the money borrowed from a bank.Usually,if you borrow money from a bank, you’ll be required to pay back extra money(called interest) over years, while payment plans let you pay tuition without added costs. This makes them a smart choice for saving money.
How Do Tuition Payment Plans Work?
Payment plans help fill the gap without debt(负债).Here’s how to use them:
—Plan your cost:Decide how much you can afford each month.Compare this to your total school costs for the term or year.
—Sign up on time:When applying for classes, choose the payment plan option in the billing section.
—Pay part first:Many schools ask for 20%-50% of the total cost upfront.Save money early to cover this.
—Pick a payment method:Most plans automatically(自动地) take money from your bank account each month.Using a credit card might cost extra,so check the rules first.
If your school doesn’t offer a plan, you can also ask about third-party services that can help.

What is “financial intelligence”?Students from Shenzhen No.2 Experimental School may tell you that it lies at the heart of one’s growth journey.
Financial intelligence is taught in a course developed by the school. It not only teaches the basic knowledge about finance, but also makes students realize that their time, emotions and abilities are their “invisible fortune(财富)” and should be smartly managed, too.
The course first introduces students to the world of finance. For example, they learn how to read a cash flow statement(现金流转表) and a financial statement(财务报表),as well as how to handle business tasks such as product promotion, transactions(交易),and accounting.“To put what we learned into practice,we once set up a stand during a sports meet to sell products like juice,” Chen Zixuan,16,said.
Based on the logic of a financial statement, the students are also asked to come up with their own “personal growth statement”.One’s attention and negative emotions, for example, correspond to property and liabilities(债务) in a financial statement.
“Attention minus negative emotions equals your ability to love,” Zhang Xiang,15,said,claiming that she had used the idea to solve real-life problems.“Once I fought with my friend and felt horrible about it for days.By using the personal growth statement,I realized that my negative emotions were taking up too much of my attention, decreasing my ability to love. That’s when I decided to break out of my sadness.”
This year, students shared their knowledge beyond the campus, giving presentations to staff at a software company.“My topic was ‘how to make choices based on your own abilities and interests’,” Wang Yuqian,16,said.“How to allocate(分配) your attention, energy and abilities is something that most people don’t think about. The adults probably have never heard of a concept like the personal growth statement, which might help them reflect on their experiences.”

A.Friendships. B.Time and money.

Helping Your Child Understand the Value of Money
It seems that there are more things for teens to spend money on than ever. There are expensive clothes, video games, smartphones, and more.If you aren’t made of money,it’s hard to give your kids everything they want. 1
Start teaching your children about money early.Starting around age 10,give them a few dollars every week for them to spend however they want. 2 But let them choose what they want to do.Don’t set limits on what they can spend it on,and don’t continually buy them things they want. They’ll soon learn that if they spend all their money as soon as they get it,they won’t be able to afford more expensive things they want.
3 Have them go to the store with you or watch you pay the bills.Soon they’ll realize how much some things really cost.As your child gets older, about 13 or 14,increase their pocket money as you increase their responsibility.Once they’re more responsible, give them a budget for something bigger like clothes and make them stick to it.
Eventually, your child will probably get a job.Take this opportunity to teach them about savings. 4 Let them use the rest as mad money to spend however they want.If you’re worried about what they’re buying, open them a checking account you can monitor.
Teaching your child the value of money will not happen overnight. 5 Remember that they will probably mess up along the way,but mistakes are how they learn.
A.It takes many small steps.
B.Help them choose a well-paid job.
C.And you can also encourage them to pay the bills.
D.Make the pocket money dependent on doing housework.
E.That’s why it’s important to help them understand the value of money.
F.Have them put some into a savings account to use for other pursuits.
G.Introduce the budgets(预算) and how much things cost to your children earlier.
