9 mins
One recent weekend, I decided to learn how to make jiaozi with my grandmother. I thought it would be fun and easy at the very beginning, but soon it came to me that it wasn't as simple as it looked.
At first, I didn't pay attention to the sharp (锋利的) knife while cutting vegetables. My finger got cut because of my carelessness. Luckily, it wasn't serious. Grandma was nervous, and quickly helped me clean the cut. “My poor little girl! Be careful next time!” said Grandma softly. Through the painful lesson, I learned the hard way that safety should always come first.
After that accident, I continued working with Grandma. We made the dough (面团), mixed the filling, and started shaping the dumplings. However, I kept making mistakes. Some of my dumplings were too thick, others were not properly sealed (封闭), and some even had too much filling, making them difficult to close. It was so discouraging, but Grandma kept encouraging me.

Until noon, we had a plate full of dumplings—some were perfect, and some were a bit messy. Dad ate my ugliest dumpling first. “Tastes better than it looks!” he laughed. Mom encouraged me, “They're the most delicious dumplings I have ever had. I am so proud of you!”
Now I understand that making jiaozi isn't just about the final product; it is about learning patience, having fun with my family, and improving through mistakes. Mistakes aren't signs of weakness. Instead, they should be viewed as stepping stones to success.

With the new rule, I have more time to do my favorite sport with my friends. What's more, I have more time to take in some fresh air and enjoy the sunshine.
Sports make me stronger and healthier. Besides, enough rest makes me more relaxed so I can study more carefully than before. I even have time to share something interesting with my classmates. I'm more outgoing and happier now.
I like the longer break time because it not only makes my school life colorful but also helps me keep healthy.

Although it is all right to have students join in buddy reading with same-aged schoolmates, schools usually pair up older students with younger ones. In 2021, Green School started such a program and has achieved a great success.
Both younger and older readers in this school have learned a lot from this two-year program. For example,

My family has always had family dinners, as far as I can remember. Since I was a little boy, my mother has insisted (坚持) that we attend family dinners at least once a week. Every Sunday, my mother would prepare a lot of food and bring it to my grandma's house. We would wait for more family members to come before eating together at the table, my grandma's dinner table.

I used to feel that was a silly little tradition. But now I find it's fantastic because it's a good chance for a family to get together and talk about everything after a long week of school and work. Every time I sit at the dinner table, my grandma's dinner table, I look around and find so many people who truly love me. It's a love that feels so good. For me, family dinners are not just a meal, but a chance to reconnect (再连接) with each other.
I finally realize the true meaning of this tradition. It's not about the dinners or activities. It's about family, a group of people who care about each other. All the memories around my grandma's dinner table will last forever.

Biogas is made from plants or natural waste by living things called bacteria (细菌). People can use animal and food waste to make biogas. Just one kilogram of waste produces enough biogas to make a light work for four hours. In Sweden, people even make biogas for cars from toilet waste!

Biofuels are made from fuels that grow. It is great because we make them from the waste parts of plants that we already grow for food. The newest biofuels are made from very small living things called algae (藻类).
The cleanest fuel is hydrogen (氢). When hydrogen burns, it just makes water, but this gas is difficult to produce. In 2010, engineers invented a special machine which uses energy from the sun to make hydrogen. Interestingly, other people are trying to use bacteria to make it.
