1.There are divisions among historians over when exactly the construction of the twin temples started, but no one can deny the fact that they were constructed in the 13th century BCE.
2.They could not prevent the construction of the dam and they had no idea whether the temples could be saved from the rising waters.

4.Furthermore,the experts had no clue whether any parts of the temples would break during transport.
5.It is difficult to forecast what threats our heritage sites will face in the future, but we have the belief that we will need this kind of cooperation in heritage preservation.
2.常使用_____,________或疑问词来引导同位语从句。
that
whether
They were delighted at the news that their team had won .
They are familiar with the opinion that all matter consists of atoms .
I'm not sure about the question whether he will come.
They expressed the wish that she would accept the award.
I have no idea when he will come back.
The question who should go abroad required consideration.
She had no idea why she thought of him suddenly.
Word came that we would have lessons on Saturday.
2.名词 suggestion,order,demand,command,request,desire,proposal 等后的同位语从句要使用虚拟语气,即从句谓语用“should+do”,should 可省略。
We'd better accept his suggestion that we (should) make good use of every minute.
There is some doubt whether they will come to help us.
There is no doubt that everyone has the right to choose his own way of living.
The foreigner expressed the hope that he would come to China again.(同位语从句)
I'll remember the hope that the foreigner expressed to me.(定语从句)
The possibility that scientists can clone a man may come true.(同位语从句)
This is the horse that the scientist cloned.(定语从句)
He made a promise to his son that he would buy a bike for him.(同位语从句)
I still remember the promise (that) he made.(定语从句)

Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard the Titanic when it struck an iceberg and sank on April 15,1912,a mere 700 people lived on. Here is one story of the Titanic survivors whose stories are still haunting more than a century after the ship's sinking, revealing the true facts of the disaster.
A junior wireless officer aboard the Titanic,Harold Bride was one of the two people responsible for sending SOS messages to nearby ships, thus allowing the Carpathian to rescue the Titanic survivors.
He and another man on duty,Jack Phillips, raced to send SOS signals to nearby ships—but as the communications specialists, they knew that the closest, the Carpathian, would likely not arrive until the Titanic sank. They worked wildly until Captain Edward Smith came and told them they were relieved of duty;the ship had nearly lost power, and only two lifeboats remained.
They made a run for Collapsible B and were just getting it into the water when a wave swept across the deck(甲板),throwing both Harold Bride and the upturned boat into the ocean.
Bride and 15 others struggled onto the waterlogged, sinking Collapsible B and survived until other lifeboats collected them and conveyed them to the Carpathian.
Once aboard the Carpathian,Bride got back to work and began helping the ship's wireless officer send messages from the other Titanic survivors.
When the Carpathian made land,Bride had to be carried a shore: he had injured one foot in the plunge into the ocean, and the other was frostbitten after a night in the Atlantic's icy waters.

What do you do at the end of the day when you're finished with work? How you spend your free time can have a big impact on your mental health.Hobbies can help you relax and ease pent-up (郁结的)stress caused by all that time in the office or in front of the computer. But,interestingly, how you spend your free time can also impact your work performance.
Researchers at the University of Sheffield's Institute of Work Psychology in the UK found that developing hobbies can develop your confidence about how well you perform your job.But your hobby has to be significantly different from what you do from 9-to-5 work.
To study the connection between work and leisure activities, researchers employed 129 people who worked and were active in hobbies like rock climbing, musical theater and singing. They had them complete surveys to see how serious and committed they were to their hobbies and how demanding their jobs were. Then, each month for seven months, participants were asked how many hours they spent on their hobbies and how they rated their ability to perform at work.
Researchers found that if people have hobbies similar to what they do at work and that they do in an intense way, their on-the-job confidence can suffer. It's likely because their work and leisure time have the same mental and physical demands,so they're always feeling drained.
In contrast, people who have hobbies different from their work are happier and healthier. This is also true of those who choose a similar hobby but only participate in a light-hearted way. Those playful recreations act as a barrier between their professional and personal lives, giving them rest time to “recharge their batteries”,the researchers say.
“When we feel like we have the confidence to handle challenges in our jobs. We're more likely to be able to build a sustainable job and remain healthy, productive, happy and employable over our lifetimes. It's important to consider how our leisure activities might play a role in that process,” lead researcher Ciara Kelly said in a statement.

B.A writer keeps a diary every day.

D.A doctor sometimes goes swimming.
根据第二段“Researchers at the University...you do from 9-to-5 work.”
√
10.What does the underlined word “drained” in Paragraph 4 probably mean?
A.Worried. B.Exhausted.
C.Unconfident. D.Disappointed.
根据第四段画线词前的“Researchers found that if people...and physical demands”可知,所以他们总是觉得筋疲力尽。
√
11.How can people benefit from hobbies similar to their work?
A.Take them seriously.
B.Set strict schedules for them.
C.Participate in them just for fun.
D.Develop them into their business.

Having a college roommate is most people's first experience living with someone who is not related to them.It comes with both benefits and challenges. 1_______________________________________________________________ You get an instant friend, someone to confide in and keep you company during your first time away from home. However, since many colleges randomly assign your first roommate, you also run the risk of being matched with someone you find challenging.Either way, here's some good advice:
G. Getting along with your roommate can enhance your college experience.
由上一句“It comes with both benefits and challenges.”和下文“However, since many colleges randomly assign...matched with someone you find challenging.”
Establish some rules
2_________________________________________ In this way,you and your roommate are clear on what to do to avoid conflict.Establish what space is whose, when you need quiet time to study, which items you can share, what time you go to bed,if you like to sleep in on weekends and who's allowed to eat what in the refrigerator.
A.Make your preferences known from the start.
通读本段,尤其是根据本段标题“Establish some rules”以及下一句“In this way,you and your roommate are clear on what to do to avoid conflict.” 故选A项。
Practice direct communication
Practicing direct communication will help you in good times and bad. Dorm rooms are close quarters,so even if you get along with your roommate, there is bound to be a disagreement or two.3__________________
_______________________________ You can't expect your roommate to be a mind reader,so if you get upset or frustrated, communicate it to your roommate right away.4_____________________________________________
_________ You'll find such way gets better reception and ultimately a better response than if you just attack or criticize.
C.Handle such conflicts with open communication.
E.Use a respectful tone and choose your words carefully.
由本段标题“Practice direct communication”以及下一句提到“You can't expect your roommate to...it to your roommate right away.”
根据上一句“You can't expect your roommate to...it to your roommate right away”和下文“You'll find such way gets better reception and ultimately a better response than if you just attack or criticize.”
Compromise sometimes
When it comes to doing chores around the room, listening to certain kinds of music, watching different TV shows and requesting privacy, compromise is key.If you give a little, your roommate will give a little Compromising does not refer to giving in to all of someone's requests. 5_____________________________________ ____________So,utilize positive communication, and talk through the things you and your roommate differ on until you can reach a compromise.
B.Instead,it means coming to a mutual agreement.
根据上文“If you give a little,your roommate... giving in to all of someone's requests.”以及下文“So,utilize positive...can reach a compromise.”
