Good morning, everyone!I feel greatly honored to
speak here. What I'd like to introduce to you is niangao,
which is one of the most popular and typical dishes eaten
during the Spring Festival.Niangao is a kind of rice pud-
ding and it can be roasted, fried,or steamed. As the
name suggests,niangao symbolizes abundance,wealth
and prosperity for both the family and the country.
In Chinese New Year, eating niangao, people may
think of“Nian”.Then what is“Nian"?Nian was origi-
nally the name of a beast that started to prey on people
the night before the beginning of a new year. But Nian
was frightened of red color and cracker sound. So our an-
cestors would put up red paper decorations on their win-
dows and doors, and set off firecrackers to scare away
Nian.Today we still keep these traditions, feeling the
red color and the cracker sound add to the excitement
and atmosphere of the celebration.
That's all.Thank you for listening.

根据第三段中“All the while he
would tell her,'See,you can do anything you set your
mind to.'At the end of the day,she began to paint
using her mouth..”
