He was well-known among those of us currently enrolled in the University of Arizona’s MFA program — the same program Siken had graduated from. His poems would show up after they were printed and sent out in classrooms in the Modern Languages building. Many of us taught his work to our English 301 students. Earlier this year, I met Siken at Casa Video. A knee injury involving one of the four dogs he lives with had forced Siken to use a walker. We nodded to each other as he walked unsteadily in. I stepped forward to help him pull out a chair, and once he’d settled in, we chatted about his new, highly anticipated third collection, now shortlisted for the National Book Award for poetry. It comes a decade after his second collection, which itself came a decade after his first book. Siken had a stroke (中风) in the spring of 2019, an experience that informs every page of the new collection. Siken worked as a care worker in the mid-to-late 1990s, with patients dealing with serious mental illness. He would work long, overnight weekend shifts at behavioral health facilities so that he could read and write poetry during the week. As he wrote and revised his first book over 15 years, he left social work for restaurant jobs in downtown Tucson. There was one job opportunity in 1998 that spurred a move to New York, but he returned to Tucson less than a year later, working at a local bar. For Siken, poetry is also service. He likes poetry because it’s clear and fast, and he tries to be as economical and precise as he can in his writing. Through health challenges, career shifts, and life changes, Siken has stayed committed to creation, turning his experiences into work that connects with readers. 4. Why did the room become quiet when Richard Siken entered? A. He was highly respected among fellow writers. B. The MFA program had strict rules for visitors. C. A famous poet made people feel nervous. D. Students were required to be quiet, 5. What do we know about Siken from paragraph 2? A. He no longer wrote poetry. B. He gave up public appearances. C. He suffered some physical challenges. D. He published 3 poetry collections in 10 years. 6. What does the author try to show by mentioning Siken’s career shifts? A. Siken struggled to find stable employment. B. Siken’s dedication to poetry remained constant. C. Siken could not decide on a single career direction. D. Siken’s health issues forced him to change jobs frequently. 7. What does the underlined word “spurred” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Blocked. B. Delayed. C. Encouraged. D. Complicated. A 5. C 6. B 7. 根据第一段“He was well-known among those of us currently enrolled in the University of Arizona’s MFA program — the same program Siken had graduated from. His poems would show up after they were printed and sent out in classrooms in the Modern Languages building. Many of us taught his work to our English 301 students.(在我们这些目前就读于亚利桑那大学艺术硕士项目的学员当中,他颇有名气——而Siken也是毕业于这个项目。他的诗作会在印刷完成后,被送到现代语言楼的教室里分发给学生们。我们很多人还会把他的作品讲给英语301课程的学生听)”可知,当Richard Siken走进房间时,房间里变得安静是因为他在同行作家中备受尊敬。故选A。 根据第二段“A knee injury involving one of the four dogs he lives with had forced Siken to use a walker.(他和四只狗一起生活,其中一只狗的膝盖受伤,迫使他使用助行器)”以及“Siken had a stroke (中风) in the spring of 2019, an experience that informs every page of the new collection. (Siken在2019年春天中风了,这次经历贯穿了新作品集的每一页)”可知,西肯曾面临一些身体上的困难。故选C。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“Through health challenges, career shifts, and life changes, Siken has stayed committed to creation, turning his experiences into work that connects with readers.(尽管经历了健康问题、职业变动以及生活上的种种变化,Siken仍始终致力于创作,将自身的经历转化为能够与读者产生共鸣的作品)”可知,作者提及Siken的职业转变意在表明西肯对诗歌的执着始终未变。 根据划线词所在句“There was one job opportunity in 1998 that spurred a move to New York, but he returned to Tucson less than a year later, working at a local bar.(1998年有一份工作机会spurred他搬到了纽约,但不到一年后他就返回了图森,在当地的一家酒吧工作)”可知,一个工作机会促使他搬到了纽约,故划线词意思是“促使、鼓励”。故选C。 C Kia has been excited about its PBV commercial electric vehicles for a while now, but you know the old phrase— “Put your money where your mouth is.” Well, that is exactly what Kia is doing. The company is investing KRW 4 trillion ($2.74 billion) into a 297,000 square-meter production site for the PBV that will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles. At EVO Plant East, Kia will be able to produce 100,000 PV5 vehicles a year, and at EVO Plant West, it will be able to produce 150,000 PV7 as well as some other PBV models. This will be the production hub (中心) for global PBV demand. Construction of EVO Plant East was completed today, and construction of EVO Plant West started. “Kia is using the electrification of light commercial vehicles as a key opportunity to position PBVs as a core future business,” Ho Sung Song, Kia President and Global CEO, commented. “As we continue our journey toward sustainable future mobility, Kia remains committed to becoming a trusted partner in building a better future for R. O. Korea-and for humanity as a whole.” The newly completed EVO Plant East is a dedicated PBV facility built on a 98,433 square-meter site, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units for Kia’s PV5 mid-size PBV, including the Passenger, Cargo, Chassis Cab, and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) models. EVO Plant West will be built on a 136,671 square-meter site, securing an annual production capacity of 150,000 units for Kia’s upcoming large-size PBV models, including the PV7. Once both plants are fully operational, Kia will establish a full PBV line-up with an annual capacity of 250,000 units. Beyond all of that, Kia has also built a “PBV Conversion Center”. It will produce specialized PBV models there for special clients. Customized versions of the PV5 include open-bed trucks, box vans, and camping vehicles. To support Kia’s vehicle production with as little dirty energy as possible, the company is also going to help fund a “50 MW solar power generation facility within AutoLand Hwaseong.” 8. What is the key objective of Kia’s KRW 4 trillion investment? A. To supply specialized vehicles worldwide. B. To expand domestic car production capacity. C. To compete with other leading electric car brands. D. To develop next-generation eco-friendly transport. 9. What does the CEO’s statement reveal about Kia’s strategy? A. Electrification is not key. B. PBVs are vital for future. C. Korean partners are the focus. D. Kia is unsure about sustainability. 10. What unique service does the PBV Conversion Center offer? A. Promoting camping vehicles. B. Making passenger-only PBVs. C. Producing the Chassis Cab vehicle. D. Tailoring vehicles for specific needs. 11. What best summarizes Kia’s actions? A. Developing self-driving technology. B. Launching new passenger EV models globally. C. Expanding luxury vehicle production in Korea. D. Investing in factories and green energy for PBVs. D 9. B 10. D 11. 根据首段“Kia has been excited about its PBV commercial electric vehicles for a while now, but you know the old phrase—“Put your money where your mouth is.” Well, that is exactly what Kia is doing.”(起亚对其PBV商用电动汽车兴奋不已已经有一段时间了,但你知道那句老话——“言行一致”。嗯,起亚正在这么做)、第二段中的“The company is investing KRW 4 trillion ($2.74 billion) into a 297,000 square-meter production site for the PBV that will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles.”(该公司正斥资4万亿韩元(27.4亿美元)打造一座占地29.7万平方米的PBV生产基地,该基地的年产能可达25万辆)以及第三段“ “Kia is using the electrification of light commercial vehicles as a key opportunity to position PBVs as a core future business,”Ho Sung Song, Kia President and Global CEO, commented.“As we continue our journey toward sustainable future mobility, Kia remains committed to becoming a trusted partner in building a better future for R. O. Korea-and for humanity as a whole.””(起亚总裁兼全球首席执行官宋虎声表示:“起亚将轻型商用车的电气化视为将PBVs定位为未来核心业务的关键契机。在我们迈向可持续未来出行的征程中,起亚始终致力于成为值得信赖的合作伙伴,为大韩民国乃至全人类打造更美好的未来。”)可知,起亚此次4万亿韩元的投资核心是打造电动PBV车型的生产基地,而研发生产电动PBV车型的核心目标是推动可持续的未来出行,也就是发展下一代环保交通方式,这与起亚迈向可持续未来出行的发展方向一致。故选D。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“Kia is using the electrification of light commercial vehicles as a key opportunity to position PBVs as a core future business.(起亚将轻型商用车的电气化视为将PBVs定位为未来核心业务的关键契机)”可知,起亚首席执行官的表述中明确将PBV定位为公司未来的核心业务,这直接表明PBV对于起亚的未来发展而言至关重要。 根据第五段中的“Beyond all of that, Kia has also built a PBV Conversion Center. It will produce specialized PBV models there for special clients.(除此之外,起亚还打造了一座PBV定制中心,将在该中心为特殊客户生产定制化的PBV车型)”可知,PBV定制中心的核心功能是为特殊客户生产专属的定制化车型,也就是根据特定的需求为客户量身打造车辆,这是该中心提供的独特服务。 根据第二段中的“The company is investing KRW 4 trillion ($2.74 billion) into a 297,000 square-meter production site for the PBV that will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles.(该公司正斥资4万亿韩元(27.4亿美元)打造一座占地29.7万平方米的PBV生产基地,该基地的年产能可达25万辆)”、第五段中的“Beyond all of that, Kia has also built a PBV Conversion Center. It will produce specialized PBV models there for special clients.(除此之外,起亚还打造了一座PBV定制中心,将在该中心为特殊客户生产定制化的PBV车型)”以及第六段“To support Kia’s vehicle production with as little dirty energy as possible, the company is also going to help fund a 50 MW solar power generation facility within AutoLand Hwaseong.(为了尽可能减少使用污染能源来支持起亚的汽车生产,该公司还将资助在华城汽车城建设一座50兆瓦的太阳能发电设施)”可知,起亚的核心行动围绕PBV展开,一方面斥巨资建设专属生产工厂、打造定制中心,完善PBV的生产布局;另一方面为保障PBV生产的环保性,出资建设太阳能绿色能源设施,D项表示“为PBV投资建设工厂并配套绿色能源设施”能全面概括起亚的一系列举措。故选D。 D The Warka vase was discovered in 1934. It was one of a pair of vases found in the Inanna temple complex together with other valuable objects. Beginning at the bottom, we see a pair of wavy lines from which grow neatly alternating plants that appear to be grain and reeds (芦苇). There is a satisfying rhythm to this alternation, and one that is matched in the rhythm of the sheep that alternate in the band above this. The sheep march to the right in tight formation. The band above the sheep is a blank and might have featured painted decoration that has since faded away. Above this blank band, a group of nine identical men march to the left. The men are all bare and strong. Such figures in Ancient Near Eastern art are meant to be understood as humble and low status, so we can assume that these men are servants or enslaved individuals. The top band of the vase is the largest, most complex, and least straightforward. It has suffered some damage but enough remains that the scene can be read. The center of the scene appears to show a man and a woman who face each other. A smaller naked male stands between them holding a container of what looks like agricultural produce which he offers to the woman. Behind her are two reed bunches, symbols of the goddess Inanna. The man she faces is nearly entirely broken off, and we are left with only the bottom of his long clothes. However, men with similar clothes are often found in contemporary seal stone carvings and based upon these, we can reconstruct him as a king with a long skirt, a beard and a head band. The simplest way to interpret it is that a king is celebrating Inanna, the city’s most important protecting god. A more detailed reading of the scene suggests a sacred marriage between the king, acting as the chief priest (牧师) of the temple, and the goddess — each represented in person as well as in statues. The worship (敬奉) of Inanna by the king of Uruk dominates the decoration of the vase. 12. What is the possible reason for the blank band on the vase? A. It was left unfinished intentionally. B. It was damaged during the digging. C. It served as a separation between scenes. D. Its painted patterns disappeared over time. 13. How do scholars know about the damaged male figure’s appearance? A. From written records found nearby. B. By comparing with other art pieces. C. Based on the goddess’s description. D. Through analysis of his clothing pieces. 14. What might the author continue talking about in the next paragraph? A. The daily life of the bare and strong men. B. The detailed story of the vase’s discovery. C. The future plans for restoring the damaged vase. D. The meaning and purpose of the other vase found with it. 15. What is the text mainly about? A. Servants in ancient Uruk’s temple. B. The puzzle of the vase’s lost band. C. Scenes on a valuable vase. D. The 1934 discovery of a pair of vases. D 13. B 14. D 15. 根据第三段“The band above the sheep is a blank and might have featured painted decoration that has since faded away.(羊群上方的图案是一片空白,可能原本有绘制的图案,但后来这些图案已经褪色消失了)”可知,花瓶上出现空白部分的原因可能是这些彩绘图案随着时间的推移而褪色了。 根据第五段“However, men with similar clothes are often found in contemporary seal stone carvings and based upon these, we can reconstruct him as a king with a long skirt, a beard and a head band.(然而,在现代的印章石刻中,经常能看到穿着相似服饰的男性形象。基于这些形象,我们可以将他还原为一位身着长裙、留着胡须、头戴头巾的国王形象)”可知,学者们通过与其他艺术作品进行对比得知那具受损男性雕像的外观特征。故选B。 【14题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段“The Warka vase was discovered in 1934. It was one of a pair of vases found in the Inanna temple complex together with other valuable objects.(瓦尔卡花瓶于1934年被发现。它是与另外一件花瓶一同在伊南娜神庙建筑群中被发现的两件花瓶之一,当时还发现了其他一些珍贵物品)”可知,全文只介绍瓦尔卡,作者在接下来的段落中可能会继续谈论与之一同发现的另一只花瓶的意义和用途。故选D。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第一段“The Warka vase was discovered in 1934. It was one of a pair of vases found in the Inanna temple complex together with other valuable objects.(瓦尔卡花瓶于1934年被发现。 Known for its blue waters, world-class point breaks and colorful sunsets, Rincon is everything you’d expect from a beach town, but better. ____16____ It’s a must-see town for beach buffs, surfers, and outdoor enthusiasts exploring Puerto Rico’s west coast. ____17____ The tropical (热带的) weather stays warm with average temperatures around 27℃ and beach-ready. For surfing its infamous waves, visit between October and February, when the northwest swells (涌浪) bring consistent surf conditions. This is high season for United States and European tourists, meaning you’ll share the point breaks. Perks include local Christmas festivities and whale-watching, especially between January and March, with more pleasant cooler temperatures of 24℃. For calm tides and small swells, visit June through August, but expect local crowds. Getting in and out of Rincon requires planning as it’s one of the furthest towns from San Juan. There is no public transportation, so rent a car (about a 2.5-3 hr drive) or choose a private shuttle or taxi. A car is essential for moving around most beaches and sights; downtown is walkable. ____18____ A shuttle bus circles the town connecting accommodations to main spots. You can also fly directly into Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla, just an hour away. Top things to do: ____19____ Domes Beach has challenging waves, and Maria’s Beach hosts surfing competitions; beginners can book classes at local surf schools. Go whale-watching at Punta Higuera Lighthouse Park (November-April) to spot humpbacks surfacing, blowing and breaching. Join Rincon’s weekly Art Walk (Thursday evenings) for music, dancing and local crafts. Always check local weather and tide conditions before entering the water. From October to February, ocean conditions can turn rough. Beaches south of Rincon Public Beach are better for swimming, while those north of Black Eagle Marina are primarily for surfing. ____20____ A. Don’t miss it. B. Taxis are available on call. C. Surf at north-side beaches. D. Rincon is great to visit year-round. E. Rincon proves a must-visit beach town. F. Start with gentle waves at Maria’s Beach surf schools. G. Respecting these guidelines ensures a safer coastal experience. E 17. D 18. B 19. C 20. 【16题详解】 根据上文“Known for its blue waters, world-class point breaks and colorful sunsets, Rincon is everything you’d expect from a beach town, but better.(Rincon以其湛蓝的海水、世界级的冲浪点以及绚丽的日落而闻名。 【17题详解】 根据后文“The tropical (热带的) weather stays warm with average temperatures around 27℃ and beach-ready. For calm tides and small swells, visit June through August, but expect local crowds.(热带气候持续温暖,平均气温约为27℃,非常适合冲浪。 【18题详解】 根据上文“Getting in and out of Rincon requires planning as it’s one of the furthest towns from San Juan. There is no public transportation, so rent a car (about a 2.5-3 hr drive) or choose a private shuttle or taxi. Among them were four close friends: Sam, Mia, Jake, and Lila. They were all kids who loved fixing old machines — fixing broken bikes, repairing farm tools — and often felt their skills were unnoticed in a school focused more on agriculture. However, their love for hands-on creation never faded. One day, their technology teacher announced a state-level solar car competition, open to high school teams and sponsored by a local tech company. The four friends’ eyes lit up; they signed up immediately, eager to turn their hobby into something real. They started by asking local mechanics for advice on designing the solar car. They soon realized they needed a high-quality solar panel to power the car — but it was too expensive for their tight budgets. Instead of giving up, they collected old solar panels from thrown-away outdoor lights and farm equipment, spending weekends soldering (焊接) wires to piece them together. With their teacher’s help, they built a basic frame using wooden boards and wheels from an old cart (推车). While working on the car, each faced their own struggles. Sam had to balance car work with helping his family harvest corn every evening; Mia doubted her design skills after a test run went wrong; Jake was laughed at by some classmates for “wasting time on a useless car”; and Lila worried they’d embarrass themselves at the competition. But they encouraged each other — Mia adjusted her design with Jake’s feedback, Sam woke up early to work on the car before harvest, and Lila reminded everyone why they started. When the competition day came, they drove their home-made solar car to the venue. There, they saw teams from big city schools with shiny, professional solar cars, funded by school budgets and local businesses. The four friends glanced at their own car — wooden frame, patched (拼凑的) solar panels — and felt a wave of nervousness. But they took a deep breath, rolled the car to the starting line, and waited for the race to begin. 注意: (1) 续写词数应为150个左右; (2) 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Unfortunately, their solar car stopped working halfway through the first lap. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This time, their solar car sped past the finish line smoothly. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 Unfortunately, their solar car stopped working halfway through the first lap. The four friends were shocked and disappointed, but they did not give up. They soon found a broken connection that had come loose during the bumpy race. Working together calmly and quickly, using the tools they had brought, they soldered the wire back into place firmly. Their teacher stood nearby cheering them on, and the crowd around began to clap loudly for their brave and persistent effort. Encouraged by the warmth around them, they took a deep breath and prepared to try again. This time, their solar car sped past the finish line smoothly. Although they were not the fastest team, the judges were deeply impressed by their homemade design, strong team spirit, and excellent problem-solving skills. They won a special prize for creativity and courage. The four friends hugged each other tightly with tears of joy. They realized that their hard work, mutual support, and never-give-up spirit mattered more than any prize. This unforgettable experience made them truly believe that their hands-on skills and beautiful dreams would surely shine brighter in the days ahead. 词汇激活 行为类 ①鼓舞:encourage/inspire ②相信:believe/hold the belief ③意识到:realize/be aware of 情绪类 ①失望的:disappointed/upset ②坚持的:persistent/relentless/persevering 【点睛】[高分句型1] They soon found a broken connection that had come loose during the bumpy race.(运用了that引导定语从句) [高分句型2] Although they were not the fastest team, the judges were deeply impressed by their homemade design, strong team spirit, and excellent problem-solving skills.(运用了although引导让步状语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试模拟信息卷 英语(三) 本试卷总分150分,考试时间120分钟。 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话读两遍。 1. Koshersoul B The room went silent as soon as Richard Siken, a big-name poet, walked in. B. C Kia has been excited about its PBV commercial electric vehicles for a while now, but you know the old phrase— “Put your money where your mouth is.” Well, that is exactly what Kia is doing. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Known for its blue waters, world-class point breaks and colorful sunsets, Rincon is everything you’d expect from a beach town, but better. ____16____ It’s a must-see town for beach buffs, surfers, and outdoor enthusiasts exploring Puerto Rico’s west coast. ____17____ The tropical (热带的) weather stays warm with average temperatures around 27℃ and beach-ready. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
