Dear Lingling,
Greetings from Dubai! I am here with my family for a wonderful holiday. Dubai is an amazing place and I have just come back from a tour of the most fantastic hotel in the world, the Burj-al-Arab. People say it is the only seven-star hotel in the world.
The hotel stands on a man-made island. It was once the tallest hotel in the world and is an amazing building. The architects have designed it to look like a very beautiful Arab dhow(阿拉伯三角帆船) heading out to sea.
Inside the hotel almost everything is decorated with gold leaf and all the floors are marble(大理石). The lobby(宾馆大堂)is very large and there is a lovely fountain. We couldn’t see any of the bedrooms, but I can imagine that they would be lovely too. One of the hotel’s restaurants makes you feel like you are under the sea, because there are glass walls on each side. There is another restaurant at the top of the hotel with the most amazing views.
The tour guide told us that the hotel cost $650 million to build, and the most expensive room costs $28,000 per night. He also told us that lots of famous people had stayed there. Roger Federer and Andre Agassi even played a tennis match on the roof!
Well, maybe one day we will get the chance to stay there! Until then I thought you would like this postcard of the amazing Burj-al-Arab.
Much love,
Betty

Zoology(动物学家)is everything about animals, and people who study it are called zoologists. They want to learn about the differences between different kinds of animals, where they come from and how they live.
What do zoologists do?
There are many different kinds of zoologists. Some try to learn everything about one animal, and some learn about a group of animals, like birds. Some try to understand where new kinds of animals come from, and other zoologists are interested in how animals can get sick. Many zoologists study what animals do when they are with other animals.
A famous zoologist
Charles Darwin(1809-1882)is probably the most famous zoologist who has ever lived. He showed that animals are all one big family and that every kind of animal changes slowly to match the place where they live. This is called “evolution”, and it is how the world gets new kinds of animals. During his life, people laughed at Darwin, saying that people and animalscouldn’t come from the same family. However, some zoologists today agree that Darwin was right.
Why is important?
Understanding animals is important because people are animals. When we study animals, we learn about ourselves.
Do you know?
●Frogs can breathe without their mouths! When frogs are not in water, their bodies can take air through their skin.
●Some people say that sharks never get sick, but this is not true. Sharks get sick, just like every other animal.

Nepal is said to be “the kingdom of snow mountains”, and the most attractive place is the snow-capped Himalayas on the china-nepal border. It's a world-famous country for hiking. What's more, its historical and cultural sites are well worth visiting. So when is the best time to visit Nepal?
Nepal has unusual geography! Mt. Qomolangma, the highest point in Nepal and on earth, is partly in the north of Nepal, while Terai Plain is the lowest point at 70 meters above sea level. For such a huge altitude drop, nowhere else on earth could you find it. Because of its unique topography (地形), you will find in Nepal five climate zones. There are also five seasons in Nepal: autumn, winter, spring, summer and the monsoon (雨季).
The autumn months of October and November are considered the perfect time to travel to Nepal. During this period, you'll see bluer and clearer skies. This period is the best time for adventure tours. You can also attend Dashain Festival (德赛节), a 15-day-long festival and the most colorful festival in Nepal. The temperature begins to drop in December and January.
Winter is perfect for visiting the Chitwan National Park in the south of Nepal. You will get the best chance to see rhinos (犀牛) as well as Bengal tigers and elephants in the wild of Nepal's forest.
During the springtime, from February to April, temperatures slowly go up. The days are longer and are perfect for hiking and adventure tours. You can also attend some popular festivals like the Nepalese New Year in April.
May, however, pushes the temperature a bit higher. The real summer is quickly cut short by the beginning of the monsoon season. The monsoon wind coming from the Indian Ocean begins to bring in rain showers from mid-June until September. You can expect around 3 to 4hours of rain every day during this season.

When Man found him, he was sitting on his own thinking, lost to the world. Man called to him but got no answer. After a while, Lee got up and walked out into the middle of the street, where there were lots of people. He started to do some moves he had learned the day before. He was so focused that he seemed not to see any of the people around him.
It was just this kind of devotion to wushu that made Lee a great wushu expert.
