The worker pretended to have finished the work,故答案为to have finished the work。
9.I believe that it is necessary that you should pay a visit to your school friends.
→I believe it necessary a visit to your school friends.
【答案】for you to pay
此处为主语+动词think/believe/feel/consider...+it+adj.+for sb +to do...的结构,其中it作形式宾语,不定式作真正的宾语,故答案为for you to pay。
10.I think that it is our duty to do something for the people in need of help.
→I think something for the people in need of help.
【答案】it my duty to do
对比两个句子可知,此处可转化为句型:主语+动词think/feel/consider it+n.+to do...,其中it作形式宾语,不定式作真正的宾语;结合原句,所以空处应填it my duty to do,故答案为it my duty to do。
11.“Shall we go to the cinema tonight?” asked Michael.
→
Michael suggested going to the cinema tonight. /Michael suggested that we (should) go to the cinema tonight.
根据句意以及句子提示要求可知,直接引语“Shall we go to the cinema tonight?” suggest that sb. (should) do sth.:后接宾语从句,从句需用虚拟语气,即谓语动词用 should + 动词原形,should 可省略,因此从句为we (should) go to the cinema。 Michael suggested going to the cinema tonight. /Michael suggested that we (should) go to the cinema tonight.
12.As I said, these are tough questions, and admittedly, I myself may answer them with great difficulty.(trouble)
→As I said, these are tough questions, and admittedly, I myself may .
【答案】have trouble answering them
结合提示词“trouble”,需替换为固定短语“have trouble (in) doing sth.”,故“answer”需变为“answering”。故填have trouble answering them。
13.I would spend hours imagining a house of my own on the lake.(daydream)
→I would spend hours a house of my own on the lake.
【答案】daydreaming about
spend time doing sth.” 故填daydreaming about。
14.The government has introduced a new policy to stop young people working overtime.(prevent)
→The government has introduced a new policy to .
【答案】prevent young people (from) working overtime
故填prevent young people (from) working overtime。
15.It is meaningless to achieve your life goal at the cost of your health. (point)
→ your life goal at the cost of your health.
There is no point in achieving
There is no point in doing,其中动名词作宾语。故填There is no point in achieving。
16.They insisted that he (should) be present at the ceremony.
→They present at the ceremony.
【答案】insisted on his/him being
句中insist on sb doing sth或insist on one’s doing sth表示“坚持某人做某事”,根据原句提示,句子应该使用一般过去时,表示“出席”用be present;此处使用he的宾格him作宾语;同时也可以使用his being作on的宾语。故填insisted on his/him being。
17.things, need to, before, consider, choosing, we, a number of, do, a new flat(?)(连词成句)
Do we need to consider a number of things before choosing a new flat?
之前”,后接动名词choosing(选择),形成时间状语before choosing a new flat(在选择新公寓之前);结合“?”以及do句子为一般疑问句,将所有部分按英语语法规则组合,最终形成句子:Do we need to consider a number of things before choosing a new flat?故填Do we need to consider a number of things before choosing a new flat?
18.We suspected that he suffered from an infectious disease.
→We suspected him .
【答案】of suffering from an infectious disease
原句为“suspect + that从句”结构,其中that为宾语从句,可转为“suspect sb. of doing sth.” 故填of suffering from an infectious disease。
19.I would be grateful to you for turning off the lights. (用appreciate改写)
(1) you could turn off the lights.
(2) off the lights.
I’d appreciate it if I’d appreciate your turning
原句用be grateful to sb. for doing表示“因做某事而感激某人”,结合所给提示“用appreciate改写”可知,可用固定句型I would appreciate it if… 故填①I’d appreciate it if;②I’d appreciate your turning。
20.He began to seize the chance to improve his new bicycle. (用词组set about 升级句中的 began to)
He his new bicycle.
【答案】set about seizing the chance to improve
故填set about seizing the chance to improve。

Dear Mr. Barone,
I am writing on behalf of the seventh-grade class. The traditional seventh-grade spring field trip is to the State History Museum. This year, however, the seventh grade would like to request a change. The class is interested in going to the new World Botanical (植物的) Gardens. Although this would mean a two-hour bus ride, the benefits of the new field trip would make the extra time worthwhile. The garden hours are from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. The class could leave school at 8:00 A.M. and arrive just as the gardens open. We would have time to explore the gardens, make notes about our favorite exhibits, eat lunch, and return to school by 4:00 P.M.
Many seventh-grade students have already visited the history museum. Since the museum is so close, students often go there with their families, or with other groups. We have enjoyed the many interesting exhibits, but this year we are hoping to learn something new.
The purpose of the new field trip destination is to help students understand the different environments of our planet. The World Botanical Gardens contains the second-largest walk-through Amazon rainforest exhibit in the country. Some of the other popular exhibits are the Giant Flowers, the Arid Deserts, and the Palm Trees Around the World.
Since seventh-grade students study plants and plant energy in science class, visiting the botanical gardens would be an appropriate and educational field trip. The information we could learn there would be an excellent way to add to our science studies. We would observe plants growing in special displays that are similar to their natural habitats.
Please consider this request for the seventh-grade field trip to World Botanical Gardens. Any increase in the traditional field trip expenses, such as the longer bus ride, could be made up for by fundraisers such as bake sales and car washes.
If I can provide additional information, please let me know.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Robert Burns

Justin and his friend David had known each other before they became classmates. David didn’t seem to mind that Justin was small for his age. But on the first day of school, when David and Justin had lunch with the rest of the fifth-grade boys, Steven asked when David had started playing with babies, which made Justin uneasy.
Several weeks later, David called to invite Justin to his birthday party at his grandfather’s farm. Justin didn’t want to go initially because he had wanted to spend the day running. When he ran, the problems at school didn’t matter, and being the smallest kid in his class didn’t matter, either.
This Saturday, however, he reached the farm with Steven. David’s mother suggested that David show the boys around, so David asked his grandfather, Mr. Hamilton, to drive them to the foot of a hill. Mr. Hamilton left to prepare for the party. The boys decided to enter a cave, go out from a hole at its top, climb the hill and then hike back.
The entrance to the cave was a big stone room with huge wooden pillars (柱子) supporting the doorway. About thirty feet in was a wall of rocks blocking further entrance. From the hole in the ceiling, light shone on the back wall. David started to show the boys how to climb up the back wall. “Let me go first,” Steven demanded. He grabbed David’s belt and pulled him off the rock, throwing him onto the ground.
“Watch out!” shouted Justin. But it was too late. David fell hard against a pillar and the wood started to crack. A second later the pillar fell. Then part of the ceiling collapsed. Dust filled the air. When the dust finally settled, the boys found themselves trapped in the cave and the only exit was the hole in the ceiling, which became smaller — too small for anyone to go out. Worse still, a stream of water was flowing into the cave.

Justin looked up at the hole and said,“ I might be small enough to get out.” Volunteering to have a try, he climbed slowly up the back wall. He curled his body to such an extreme extent that he ultimately managed to come out of the hole. No sooner had Justin reached the top than he headed off to the farmhouse without hesitation. With those panicked faces and flowing water in mind, he couldn’t help quickening his pace. It was his regular running that enabled him to make a mad dash to the farmhouse despite fatigue and concern.
Out of breath, Justin finally saw the farmhouse. “Mr. Hamilton! Hurry! David and Steven are trapped in the cave.” On hearing that, Mr. Hamilton left for the cave immediately with David’s mom. The moment they reached the spot, they set out to clear the small opening and eventually pulled the boys out. Luckily, no one was hurt. Steven approached Justin and said “I sincerely apologize for making fun of you. It’s amazing how quickly you managed to get help.” “Apology accepted,” A sense of pride in his small body washed over Justin for the first time.【导语】本文以人物为线索展开,主要讲述了Justin和David之间的友情,以及Justin如何通过自己的小身材在一次意外中成为救星的故事。

Dear Mr. Barone,
I am writing on behalf of the seventh-grade class.

5.Which aspect of the new field trip is mentioned?
