How are you today? Ss: Good morning! We are fine, thank you. T: Great! Last unit, we talked about summer holidays. Today we will enjoy a fun story: Lesson 18: Three Kites in the Sky. Let's read the title together. Ss: Three Kites in the Sky! 二、新知呈现：Story time（约15分钟） T: Today is a wonderful day. Three kites are flying in the sky. What are their names? Ss: Kylie, Karla, Krista! T: What is Kylie like? (Read: "Kylie is a beautiful kite. She has many colours and a long red tail.") Ss: She is beautiful! T: What is Karla like? (Read: "The second kite's name is Karla. She is strong. She can fly very high in the sky.") Ss: She is strong! T: What is Krista like? (Read: "The third kite, Krista, is listening. She is not beautiful. She is not fast. She is not strong. She is only a kite.") Ss: She is just a simple kite! T: What does Kylie think? (Read: "Everyone will look up at me. Everyone will like me.") T: What does Karla think? (Read: "Look at me. I can fly high and fast. Everyone will like me.") T: But what does Krista do? (Read: "Krista sees a boy swimming in the lake. But he can't swim well, and he needs some help. Krista is afraid of water, but she wants to help the boy. She flies very low. A man hears Krista. He jumps into the water. He swims to the boy. He brings the boy to the beach.") Ss: She helps the boy! T: Exactly! Krista is very brave and kind! 三、操练巩固：Talk and act（约20分钟） T: Now let's answer the questions. 1. Which kite do you like? Why? I like Krista, because she is very kind and helpful. She helps the boy in the lake. 2. Act out the story. Divide students into groups of three. Each student plays one kite: Kylie: "Everyone will look up at me. Everyone will like me." Karla: "Look at me. I can fly high and fast. Everyone will like me." Krista: "Hey, Kylie and Karla!
