I walk to school and walk home. That's twice a day.
How many minutes do you walk? About five minutes.

教学过程
一、热身导入(5分钟)
1. 师生问候
教师用英语和学生打招呼: Hello, boys and girls! Good morning! How are you today? 引导学生回应,营造轻松的课堂氛围。
2. 复习旧知
教师带领学生回顾上一课关于饮食健康的对话,用 What do we need to eat more to be healthy? 提问,学生回答,为新课“锻炼”做铺垫。
3. 情境导入
教师展示运动图片,说: Eat more vegetables and fruit, and also exercise! Today we learn **Lesson 10: Exercise**. Let's read the title together.
Ss: Exercise!
二、新知学习:What is exercise?(约10分钟)
T: Look at these pictures. What are they doing?
(Point to each picture:)
T: What is this? (Riding a bike) Is riding a bike exercise?
Ss: Yes! Riding a bike is exercise.
T: What about walking? (Walking) Is walking exercise?
Ss: Yes! Walking is exercise.
T: Playing ping-pong? Running?
Ss: They are all exercise!
T: Great! And how does exercise help us? Let's read: "Exercise helps make your body healthy and strong."
Ss: Exercise helps make our bodies healthy and strong!
三、新知呈现:How many minutes does Danny exercise?(约15分钟)
T: Now, how often does Danny exercise? Let's watch the dialogue between Mr. Wood and Danny.
(Play the dialogue:)
Mr. Wood: How often do you exercise, Danny?
Danny: I walk to school in the morning, and I walk home after school.
Mr. Wood: That's twice a day. How many minutes do you walk?
Danny: About five minutes.
Mr. Wood: I think you need about an hour of exercise a day, Danny!
Danny: Okay! I'm going to watch more sports on TV!
Jenny: No, Danny! You have to play sports for exercise!
T: So, how often does Danny exercise?
Ss: He walks twice a day.
T: How many minutes does he walk each time?
Ss: About five minutes.
T: And what does Mr. Wood say?
Ss: He says Danny needs about an hour of exercise a day!
T: Why can't Danny just watch sports on TV?
Ss: Because he has to play sports for exercise!
四、操练巩固:Let's do it!(约15分钟)
T: Now let's do the "Read and write" exercise. Let's read the paragraph first.
(Read: "Exercise helps make our bodies healthy and strong. I run for 20 minutes every morning. Ping-pong is my favourite sport. I play ping-pong three times a week. That's an hour and a half a week. I play basketball twice a week. That's two hours of exercise a week. How many minutes do I exercise a week?")
T: Let's fill in the table.
Running: every day, 20 minutes a day → 20 × 7 = 140 minutes a week.
Ping-pong: three times a week, an hour and a half → 90 minutes a week.
Basketball: twice a week, two hours → 120 minutes a week.
T: So total minutes a week: 140 + 90 + 120 = 350 minutes.
(Students write: I exercise 350 minutes a week.)
T: Now, it's your turn. Write about your exercise. How often do you exercise? How many minutes do you exercise a week?
五、拓展运用:我的锻炼计划(约5分钟)
T: Now, let's make a healthy exercise plan. What can we do for exercise?
S1: Walk to school!
S2: Play ping-pong!
S3: Run every morning!
T: Excellent! Remember: play sports for exercise, not just watch sports!
六、课堂小结(约3分钟)
T: Today we learned that exercise helps make our bodies healthy and strong. We can ride a bike, walk, play ping-pong, run—all are exercise. We also learned to use "How often?" and "How many minutes?" to talk about exercise. Remember: you need to play sports for exercise!
