Scientists have pointed out that some natural disasters (floods, droughts, wildfires etc) might have been caused by human activity. Moreover, El Niño may cause more extreme weather around the world, resulting in more droughts, floods or hurricanes.

Li Wei: Mum, there’s a typhoon forecast for Sunday. We should
make some preparations.
Mum: I’ll buy in plenty of food—enough to last for a few days.
Li Wei: Don’t forget to buy bottled water.
Mum: No problem. I’ll also check our basic medical supplies and see what we need. What else do we need to do?
Li Wei: I’ll check the flashlight for batteries and reinforce the windows. Oh, we should also move the flowerpots off the balcony so they don’t blow off and hurt passersby.
Mum: You’re right.
