B 20. M: Good morning, everyone. If you ask me which city I really want to visit, it’s Rome, the capital of Italy. It’s a city that has always attracted me because of its culture. I’m particularly interested in its architecture since it has examples from all major European styles of building. Besides, it was the capital of the Roman Empire, so it has a wonderful collection of public buildings from that time. What I think is great about Rome is that many of the beautiful and historic buildings are still in use as galleries, public offices and even houses. They are not all locked up as museums, so it’s really living history there. Even though it’s an expensive city to stay in, I’d like to go there for at least a month, as there’s so much to see and do. During my time there, I’d have to be careful that I didn’t spend too much on Roman food! Plus, I’d like to find a cheap hotel. It would probably be in the centro storico, the old center of the city, probably within walking distance of the River Tevere. Most visitors to Rome would agree that it is a very special place. But for me, it’s Europe’s most historic and romantic city. A Unique Ways to Give The feel-good reward of giving is huge. You simply give a bucket of rice to a person or family, take a photo and post it on social media through the app RBC with a message encouraging others to do the same. Or people can offer money through the app for it. To date, the Rice Bucket Challenge has given away about 35,000 kilograms of rice. Donation Fence For the past six years, Hamburg Donation Fence in Germany has encouraged locals in that city to hang bags of clean clothing, tooth brushes and sleeping bags on a fence near Hamburg's central train station. People without home can take those bags as needed. Little Free Libraries Some places of China host Little Free Libraries. All you need to do is build (or buy) a box and fill it with books you’ve finished reading. Anyone can take, leave or exchange a book from the box. The goal is to promote reading, but when neighbors connect, community-building is a happy unexpected result. Commu App How do people wanting to volunteer connect with groups needing help? In 2021 in Finland, three young men founded Commu, an app that makes it easy for people to offer help to those in need or to ask for help in their communities. It also works in English, Ukrainian and Norwegian. 21. Who might Donation Fence want to help? A. The librarians. B. The volunteers. C. The hungry people. D. The homeless people. 22. What is the purpose of Little Free Libraries? A. To fight hunger. B. To connect neighbors. C. To exchange books. D. To encourage reading. 23. Which language does Commu App use? A. Indian. B. Surrounded by miles of stone walls, the house and field provided endless hours of fun for a city kid like me. Since my first visit to the farm, I had wanted more than anything to be allowed to climb the stone walls surrounding the houses. My parents would never agree because the walls were so old that some stones were loose and falling. However, my idea to climb across those walls grew so strong that finally I had all my courage to enter the living room, where the adults had gathered after Sunday dinner. “I want to climb the stone walls.” I said. “Heavens, no You’ll hurt yourself!” The response was just as I’d expected. But before I left the room, I was stopped by my grandfather’s loud voice. “Now hold on just a minute.” I heard him say. “Let the boy climb the stone walls. He has to learn to do things for himself.” “Go,” he said to me, “and come and see me when you get back.” For the next two and a half hours I climbed those old walls — and had the time of my life. Later I met with my grandfather to tell him about my adventures. I’ll never forget what he said. “Fred,” he said, smiling, “you made this day a special day just by being yourself. Always remember, there’s only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.” Many years have passed since then, and today I host the television program Mister Rogers’ neighborhood, seen by millions of children throughout America. There have been changes over the years, but one thing remains the same: my message to children at the end of almost every visit. “There’s only one person in this whole world like you,” the kids will hear me say, “and people can like you exactly as you are.” 24. Why did the writer enjoy his visits to the farm? A. He liked the old stone houses. B. He could experience fun there. C. He could run freely in the field. D. He missed his grandfather a lot. 25. What can be inferred about the writer from the passage? A. He didn’t know the danger of the stone walls. B. He didn’t expect disagreement on wall climbing. C. He was supported by his grandpa to follow his heart. D. He became a TV program host with his grandfather’s help. 26. Which of the following can best describe the author’s grandfather? A. Open-minded. B. Adventures. C. Kind-hearted. D. Dependable. 27. What does the author’s experience show? A. Childhood matters. B. Just be yourself. C. Do whatever you like. D. Like grandfather, like grandson. B 25. C 26. A 27. 根据第一段中的“Surrounded by miles of stone walls, the house and field provided endless hours of fun for a city kid like me.(这座房子和田野被数英里的石墙环绕,为我这样的城市孩子带来了无尽的欢乐时光。)” 根据第三段中的“Let the boy climb the stone walls. He has to learn to do things for himself.(让这孩子去爬石墙吧。他得学会自己去做事。)”以及第四段中的““Fred,” he said, smiling, “you made this day a special day just by being yourself. Always remember, there’s only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.”(“弗雷德,”他笑着说,“你只是做你自己,就让今天变得格外特别。永远记住,这个世界上只有一个独一无二的你,而我就喜欢这样的你。”)”可知,祖父支持作者追随自己的心意去做想做的事。故选C项。 【26题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段中的“My parents would never agree because the walls were so old that some stones were loose and falling.(我的父母绝不会同意,因为那些墙太旧了,有些石头松动且在脱落。)”和“Let the boy climb the stone walls. He has to learn to do things for himself.(让这孩子去爬石墙吧。他得学会自己去做事。)”可知,祖父不像父母那般反对作者的想法,而是尊重其选择,思想开明。故选A项。 根据第四段中的“Always remember, there’s only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.(永远记住,这个世界上只有一个独一无二的你,我就喜欢这样的你。)”以及第五段中的“There have been changes over the years, but one thing remains the same: my message to children at the end of almost every visit. “There’s only one person in this whole world like you,” the kids will hear me say, “and people can like you exactly as you are.”(这些年世事变迁,但有一件事始终未变:几乎每次探访结束,我都会对孩子们说一番话。孩子们总会听到我这样讲:“这个世界上,只有一个独一无二的你,而人们也会真心喜欢原本的你。”)”可知,祖父的话语让作者铭记“做自己”的理念,成年后作者也将这一理念传递给无数孩子,这是贯穿全文的核心主旨,因此作者的经历想要表达的是“做自己”这一观点。故选B项。 C At the sixth China International Import Expo (进口博览会) (CIIE) in Shanghai, a piece of artwork looking like a Taihu Lake Stone was the center of attention. It perfectly combined traditional craftwork with natural art, and showed the beauty of the stone after which it was modeled. What impressed the visitors most was that the “stone” was actually made entirely from bamboo. It was the work of Qian Lihuai, an inheritor (继承者) of traditional bamboo weaving skills. In the natural material — bamboo, Qian sees a number of possibilities for artistic expression. “I’ve always thought of bamboo weaving as a kind of brush to paint the world,” he explains. The Laboratory of Cultural Trade, a cultural trade platform, was responsible for introducing Qian’s work to the CIIE. It focuses on the cultural trade industry and promoting cultural exchange and cooperation with other countries. Yang Zhaojie, a Lab manager, explains that Qian’s work is easily understood by foreign audiences and that foreign organsizations have expressed interest in working with Qian. In March, Qian was invited to create a bamboo installation (装饰艺术), for the Italian fashion brand Bulgari. In August, he held a two-week exhibition working with a local restaurant in Tokyo. During Art Market Budapest, Hungary in October, he worked with local museums and all the pieces sold out in the first two weeks. Yang says that the cooperation with Qian has provided both sides with fresh means for development. “During our cooperation, one of his standout qualities is his ability to push limits. But do any of them remember their time at museum events later in life? A new report suggests that the answer is yes — and finds that graduates of arts-based museum programs credit them with changing the course of their lives, even years after the fact. The Whitney Museum of American Art, the Walker Art Center and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles recently asked researchers to carry out a study to find out how effective their long-standing teen art programs really are. They involved over 300 former members of four programs for teens that have been in existence since the 1990s. Graduates, whose current ages are from 18 to 36, were invited to be the subjects of the study to find out how they viewed their participation years after. Among the graduates surveyed, 75 percent of graduates rated the teen program experience as the most favorable impact (影响) on their own lives, beating family, school and their neighborhoods. Nearly 55 percent thought that it was one of the most important experiences they’d ever had, regardless of (不管) age and two-thirds said that they were often in situations where their experience in museums affected their actions or thoughts. It turns out that taking part in art programs also helps keep teens enthusiastic (热情的) about arts even after they reach adulthood: 96 percent of participants had visited an art museum within the last two years, and 68 percent had visited an art museum five or more times within the last two years. Thirty-two percent of program graduates work in the arts as adults. Though the study is the first of its kind to explore the impact of teen-specific art programs in museums, it reflects other research on the important benefits of engaging with the arts. A decade of surveys the National Foundation for the Arts found that childhood experience with the arts have linked arts education to everything from lower drop-out rates to improvement in critical thinking skills. 32. What do the underlined words “the fact” in paragraph 1 mean? A. Taking part in teenage art programs. B. Recalling the time at museum events. C. Planning arts-based museum programs. D. Changing the course of teenagers’ life. 33. What does paragraph 3 mainly tell us? A. The way of the study. B. The content of the study. C. The result of the study. D. The process of the study. 34. What can be inferred about the study? A. No other studies exist about the benefits of arts. B. Love for arts may remain long in kids’ whole life. C. Age matters in how people view their art experiences. D. Most children taking part in art programs will work in arts. 35. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. Should Children Walk into Art Museums? B. What Should Art Museums Do for Kids? C. Can Art Education Affect Our Income? D. How Is Art Connected to Our Life? 【答案】32. A 33. C 34. B 35. A 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了博物馆艺术项目对青少年的长远积极影响,研究表明这种影响可延续至成年时期,甚至一生。 【32题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第一段中“Every year, thousands of teenagers take part in programs at their local art museums. But do any of them remember their time at museum events later in life? A new report suggests that the answer is yes — and finds that graduates of arts-based museum programs credit them with changing the course of their lives, even years after the fact.(每年,成千上万的青少年参加当地艺术博物馆的项目。但是,他们中是否有人在日后还记得在博物馆活动中的时光呢?一份新的报告表明,答案是肯定的——并且发现,基于艺术的博物馆项目的毕业生认为这些项目改变了他们的生活轨迹,甚至在这个事实多年之后仍然如此。)”可知,参加艺术博物馆项目的毕业生认为这些项目改变了他们的生活轨迹,甚至在参加童年时期的艺术项目多年之后仍然受到影响,故划线词the fact指的是“参加童年时期的艺术项目”。故选A。 【33题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第三段“Among the graduates surveyed, 75 percent of graduates rated the teen program experience as the most favorable impact (影响) on their own lives, beating family, school and their neighborhoods. Nearly 55 percent thought that it was one of the most important experiences they’d ever had, regardless of (不管) age and two-thirds said that they were often in situations where their experience in museums affected their actions or thoughts.(在接受调查的毕业生中,75%的人认为青少年项目经历对他们的个人生活产生了最积极的影响,这一结果超过了家庭、学校和所在社区的影响。近 55%的人认为这是他们经历过的最重要的事情之一,无论年龄大小,有三分之二的人表示他们经常处于那种会受到博物馆经历影响的境况中,这种经历会改变他们的行为或想法)”可知,本段主要介绍了研究的结果,故选C。 【34题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段中“It turns out that taking part in art programs also helps keep teens enthusiastic (热情的) about arts even after they reach adulthood:96 percent of participants had visited an art museum within the last two years, and 68 percent had visited an art museum five or more times within the last two years. Thirty-two percent of program graduates work in the arts as adults.(结果表明,参与艺术项目还能帮助青少年在成年后仍对艺术保持热情:96%的参与者在过去两年内参观过艺术博物馆,68%的参与者在过去两年内至少参观过五次。32%的项目毕业生成年后从事与艺术相关的工作)”可知,参加艺术项目可以让青少年对艺术的热情可能会持续一生。故选B。 【35题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,结合第一段中“A new report suggests that the answer is yes — and finds that graduates of arts-based museum programs credit them with changing the course of their lives, even years after the fact.(一份新的报告表明,答案是肯定的——并且发现,基于艺术的博物馆项目的毕业生认为这些项目改变了他们的生活轨迹,甚至在这个事实多年之后仍然如此。)”可知,文章主要介绍了博物馆艺术项目对青少年的长远积极影响,研究表明这种影响可延续至成年时期,甚至一生,故A项“孩子们应该走进艺术博物馆吗?”适合作为文章的标题。故选A。 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Cities are diverse ecosystems. In addition to visitors from the wild, a large number of species share our urban areas. As our cities spread, we need to think about what it is like for other species to have human neighbors. Cities are built for humans. ____36____ For example, most city parks are kept neat and tidy so that humans will find them beautiful. But when we cut grass or plant flowers, we destroy natural habitats. ____37____ When a bridge in Austin, Texas was repaired, engineers added small gaps running along the length of its bottom. This made a good home for bats, and soon the bridge was the home of thousands of bats. At first, people were afraid of the bats and tried to get rid of them. ____38____ The bats are a tourist attraction, and they eat lots of bugs every night. So I thought last night's one was Better. The next ones about bears, which should be great. Yeah, I can't wait. There is one problem with the series though. Oh, what's that? I really can't find any problem with the camera work, but I think whoever wrote the music shouldn't be asked to do IT for a nature series. It's a city that has always attracted me because of its culture. I'm particularly interested in its architecture since IT has examples from all major european styles of building. Besides, IT was the capital of the roman empire, so IT has a wonderful collection of public buildings from that time. What I think is great about rome is that many of the beautiful and historic buildings are still in use as galleries, public officers and even houses. They are not all locked up as museums. So it's really living history there, even though it's an expensive city to stay in. I'd like to go there for at least a month. As there is so much to see and do during my time there, i'd have to be careful that I didn't spend too much on roman food. Plus, i'd like to find a chea hotel. IT would probably be in the central stora, the old center of the city, probably within walking distance of the river to air. Most visitors to rome would agree that IT is a very special place, but for me, it's europe's most historic and romantic city. Good morning, everyone. Always remember, there’s only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.” Many years have passed since then and today I host the television program Mister Rogers’ neighborhood, seen by millions of children throughout America. C At the sixth China International Import Expo (进口博览会) (CIIE) in Shanghai, a piece of artwork looking like a Taihu Lake Stone was the center of attention. At the same time, his stories encourage more young people to follow up and put themselves into inheriting traditional bamboo weaving skills,” Yang says. 28. What impressed the visitors about the art work at the CIIE? A. It looked like a Taihu Lake Stone. B. It combined craftwork with nature. C. It was made completely from bamboo. D. It showed how beautiful the stone was. 29. What is the third paragraph mainly about? A. Qian’s hard work in three exhibitions. B. Qian’s interest in working with the Lab. C. Qian’s popularity among foreign museums. D. Qian’s cooperation with foreign organizations. 30. What does Yang think of Qian? A. Skilled and responsible. B. Proud and outstanding. C. Creative and inspiring. D. Honest and influential. 31. In which section of a website can you find this passage? A. Fashion. B. Health. C. Travel. D. People. D Every year, thousands of teenagers take part in programs at their local art museums. 35 What can be a suitable title for the text? A. Should Children Walk into Art Museums? B. What Should Art Museums Do for Kids? C. Can Art Education Affect Our Income? D. At first, people were afraid of the bats and tried to get rid of them. ____38____ The bats are a tourist attraction, and they eat lots of bugs every night. There are also structures built with the aim of bringing wildlife into the city. The Beijing Olympic Forest Park is a good example. The park used native plants and created open, natural spaces for wildlife. The result is a zone in Beijing with over 160 species of birds. In many ways, the park is the opposite of a zoo. ____39____ If we learn to share our space, we can become better neighbors to the wildlife around us. ____40____ Our own future will be endangered too. A. They would feed water plants. B. Our actions sometimes help other species. C. If we do not, more species will become extinct. D. Now, they have come to value their winged neighbors. E.
