I am a mother of two kids. After I became a mother, I was very busy. I couldn't remember the last time I had time for myself. Even my simple hobby of reading a book became a thing of the past. I spent all my time taking care of my family, doing chores (家务), and working to make a living. The boring things made me feel tired. I wanted to stay away from them. I really needed my own time to relax.

 

My "own time" only meant having an hour of quietness (安静), such as listening to music and reading a book, without being troubled by my kids.

 

Soon I had a chance to travel to a new country all by myself! My husband and kids would have to follow me later. For me, it's a good chance to have fun.

 

Now, I am alone in an apartment (公寓) and I can do whatever I want. I am satisfied (满意的) because I can read my favourite books and do all that I want to do.

 

Time goes by slowly. I surprisingly find it isn't as enjoyable as I think. I feel very lonely in the country. I miss my kids and husband a lot. Now I realize that making time for myself doesn't mean being away from those I love. I can still have my own time even if the kids are around. I will change my ideas about chores and other things. Life won't be meaningful and wonderful without the people you love around you.
