Step 1 Leading in
Greet the class.
Step 2 Work on A1
1.Play the recording of the students talking about the books they have read.Ask students to listen carefully and match each student with the type and name of the book.
2.Check the answers together.
Step 3 Work on A2
1.Play the recording of Millie’s talking about the Harry Potter series.Ask students to listen and complete her notes.
2.Play the recording again.Check the answers and explain the key points.
Step 4 Work on A3
1.Guide students to complete Millie’s passage about book choices with the information in A1 and A2.
2.Check the answers together and ask students to read the passage aloud.
Step 5 Work on B
1.Ask students to read the article about copyright protection silently.After reading,let them answer the questions:“What are the two main problems for writers?” “Why is it important to protect a book’s copyright?”
2.Invite students to share their answers and opinions on copyright protection.Emphasize the importance of saying no to pirated books.
Step 6 Work on C
1.Ask students to read the conversation between Millie the school librarian,Mrs Li,and underline the key words.
2.Divide students into pairs.Ask them to role⁃play the conversation about borrowing books from the library,using the model conversation between Millie and Mrs Li.
3.Invite some pairs to perform their role⁃plays.
Step 7 Work on D
1.Work on D1
Ask students to answer the questionnaire about a book they have read.Guide them to think carefully and write down their answers.
2.Work on D2
Let students read Amy’s reading journal about The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.Analyze the structure of the reading journal and useful expressions.
3.Work on D3
(1)Ask students to write their own reading journals based on the information in D1,using Amy’s journal as a model.
(2)Invite some students to share their reading journals with the class.Give the feedback.
◇教学反思◇
本课时通过多样化的综合活动,有效锻炼了学生的听、说、读、写综合语言运用能力。学生对书籍推荐和版权保护有了更深入的认识,能够运用所学知识进行角色扮演和撰写阅读日志。但在撰写阅读日志时,部分学生存在对书籍概括不够准确、观点表达不够深刻的问题。后续教学中应加强写作指导,提供更多的表达模板和范例,提升学生的语言组织和表达能力。
