Step 2 Work on A 1.Ask students to read the text and pay attention to the use of “a” “an” and “the”. 2.Explain that when we mention a person or thing for the first time,we usually use “a” or “an”,and that when we mention it again,we use “the”.Also,explain the difference in pronunciation between “a” and “an”. 3.Work on A1 (1)Ask students to read the text about Beijing National Stadium.Then ask them to fill in the blanks with “a” “an” “the” or “/”. (2)Check the answers and ask students to read out the completed text. 4.Work on A2 (1)Share some pictures and facts of the Water Cube.Let students talk about them with partners. (2)Each pair should write down their conversation and then share it with another pair.
