C 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇应用文。文章是关于悉尼歌剧院一些活动的广告,介绍了活动、票价最好的参与时间等。 【1题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一个小标题Ticket Info and Guided Tours部分的表格,可知Guided Walking Tour+ Dinner这种旅行方式成人的费用是73澳元,儿童的费用是52澳元。因此由此可知两个成年人需花费146澳元,故选C。 【2题详解】 细节理解题。根据二个小标题Opening Hours and the Best Time to Visit部分的“As for the best time of day, it’s recommended to book the earliest Sydney Opera House tour of the day to beat the crowds.(至于一天中最好的时间,建议预订当天最早的悉尼歌剧院游览,以避开人群)”以及“try visiting in the shoulder season (October, November, February or March)(不妨在平季(10月、11月、2月或3月)去)”可知,最好的参观时间是每天最早的时间,人少的参观月份是:10月、11月、2月或3月。结合选项,A项“二月的一个星期一上午九点半”是最好的参观时间。故选A。 【3题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“Badu Gili, which is “water light” in the language of the Gadigal people, takes place most evenings after sunset at 9:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. The seven- minute display is free to view.(Badu Gili,在Gadigal人的语言中是“水光”,通常在日落后的晚上9点、9点半和10点举行。七分钟的展示是免费观看的)”推知,Badu Gili是在晚上进行的灯光表演,故选C。 B I was a shy girl. I didn’t even like to answer the telephone for fear that I had to talk to somebody I didn’t know. I enjoyed the world of shyness. However, at school I had to spend all day in the company of others. My escape was reading. I spent a lot of time studying and was rewarding with good grades. My only failure was Spanish-I’d get all As on my written work and tests, but Ds and Fs on the spoken part. Eventually I went to college. During my third year of college, I had enough of being shy and decided to change my outlook and behaviour. One day while at school, I noticed an advertisement for positions on the local classical music radio station. I had grown up listening to classical music, and I could easily pronounce names such as Tchaikovsk and Chopin. I had absolutely no background in radio, and absolutely no hope of getting the job. The idea of talking to thousands of listeners in “radio land” frightened me. However, I luckily survived the interview. I was given brief descriptions of symphonic(交响乐)and a public service announcement to read, and a list of composers’ names to pronounce. It wasn’t hard for me. I left the recording sessions(录音片段)with a sense of relief and a sense of accomplishment. About two weeks later I actually landed the job. It was a challenging job, but I grew to enjoy it greatly. I began to feel comfortable talking to people. Although I now spend many hours each week talking with people, I’m still basically a quiet person. Perhaps it is my soft voice and my quiet nature that helps draw people out as they respond to my questions as I interviewed them. My former shyness is a fortune, as I can relate to people who feel uncomfortable when they talk to newspaper reporters. I still enjoy moments of loneliness and the peace found in nature. But I’m also glad I decided to make a change in my life that has opened many door and opportunities that I never dreamt of. 4. What do we learn about the author? A. She liked reading B. She was good at Spanish. C. She wasn’t interested in music. D. She didn’t work hard enough 5. How did the author feel before the interview? A. Very excited. B. Pretty confident. C. Highly confused. D. Extremely anxious. 6. What does the author later think of her quiet personality? A. It makes others feel less comfortable. B. It is helpful for her challenging job. C. It prevents her being a newspaper reporter. D. It draws a negative response from audiences. 7. The text mainly focuses on the author’s______. A. desire to find her true self B. feeling about being a radio hostess C. story of exploring the meaning of life D. expericnce and feeling of overcoming shyness 【答案】4. A 5. D 6. B 7. D 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了作者从小害羞、不善于表达,由于大学期间面试了一份与人交流的工作,从而性格有所改变,克服了害羞的缺点。 【4题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段“My escape was reading. I spent a lot of time studying and was rewarding with good grades (我逃避的方式是读书,我花了很多时间学习,取得了好成绩)”可知,作者喜欢读书,故选A项。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“The idea of talking to thousands of listeners in “radio land” frightened me(在“广播之地”与成千上万的听众交谈的想法吓坏了我)”可知,作者在参加面试之前感到很紧张,故选D项。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“My former shyness is a fortune, as I can relate to people who feel uncomfortable when they talk to newspaper reporters.(我以前的害羞是一种幸运,因为我能与那些在与报社记者交谈时感到不舒服的人相处)”可知,作者后来认为自己的性格对她富有挑战性的工作很有帮助,故选B项。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第一段“I was a shy girl. I didn’t even like to answer the telephone for fear that I had to talk to somebody I didn’t know.( 我是个害羞的女孩。我甚至不喜欢接电话,因为我害怕不得不和一个我不认识的人说话)”、第二段“During my third year of college, I had enough of being shy and decided to change my outlook and behaviour.( 大学三年级时,我受够了害羞,决定改变自己的观点和行为)”、倒数第二段“I began to feel comfortable talking to people.( 我开始觉得与人交谈很舒服)”以及最后一段“My former shyness is a fortune, as I can relate to people who feel uncomfortable when they talk to newspaper reporters.( 我以前的害羞是一种幸运,因为我能与那些在与报社记者交谈时感到不舒服的人相处)”可推理出本文只要讲的是作者克服害羞的经验与感受,故选D项。 C Google Translate has improved significantly over the years. Initially, it relied on statistical machine translation (SMT), which analyzed many translated texts to predict the most likely translations. However, in recent years, Google has switched to neural (神经的) machine translation (NMT), which uses deep learning models to improve accuracy by understanding context rather than just individual words. The system works by translating entire sentences instead of translating word by word. This produces more natural-sounding results, especially for European languages, which share similar structures. However, for more complex language pairs, particularly those with major grammatical differences, the accuracy is lower. Several studies have been conducted to measure the accuracy of Google Translate, including research from the UCLA Medical Center. The results show that while the tool works well with commonly spoken languages, it has difficulty with complex sentence structures and less commonly translated texts. A study by Slator found that Google Translate’s accuracy largely depends on the specific language pairs. For example, translations between English and Spanish are often better than translations involving Asian or African languages, where grammatical structures and cultural differences are very different. Moreover, research from Smartling indicates that Google Translate is most suitable for basic communication rather than professional or legal translations. While it can provide a general idea of a text’s meaning, it often falls short of delivering correct translations for specialized fields like medicine, law, or marketing. Despite improvements, Google Translate is not free from errors. First, the tool sometimes translates phrases word-for-word, resulting in unnatural or incorrect meanings. Second, sentence structures may be incorrect, especially in non-European languages. Additionally, Google Translate has trouble with ambiguous (含糊) words or cultural differences that require deeper understanding. AI translations often lose the meaning of phrases that are unique to a specific culture. 8. How does NMT differ from SMT? A. It takes advantage of big data. B. It focuses on structural changes. C. It gives diverse translation results. D. It stresses relations between lines. 9. What can be inferred from Google Translate-related studies? A. It works poorly for all non-European languages. B. Some language pairs produce better results than others. C. Its translations in legal fields are fully reliable. D. Cultural differences have little effect on translation. 10. What does the underlined phrase “falls short of” mean in paragraph 4? A. Try one’s best. B. Make a quick decision. C. Fail to meet the standard. D. Fall a very short distance. 11. What is an improvement direction for Google Translate? A. Fewer grammar mistakes. B. Unique user experiences. C. Quicker responses. D. Offline translation. 【答案】8. D 9. B 10. C 11. A 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了谷歌翻译从统计机器翻译到神经机器翻译的发展,分析了其工作方式、不同语言对的翻译表现、适用场景及现存问题(如语法错误、文化差异处理不足等)。 【8题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段中的“Initially, it relied on statistical machine translation (SMT), which analyzed many translated texts to predict the most likely translations. However, in recent years, Google has switched to neural (神经的) machine translation (NMT), which uses deep learning models to improve accuracy by understanding context rather than just individual words.(最初,它依赖统计机器翻译(SMT),这种翻译方式会分析大量已翻译文本以预测最可能的译文。然而,近年来,谷歌转向了神经机器翻译(NMT),它使用深度学习模型,通过理解语境而非仅关注单个单词来提高准确性。)”可知,NMT与SMT的区别在于NMT注重理解语境,而非SMT仅依赖文本分析。故选D项。 【9题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段中的“A study by Slator found that Google Translate’s accuracy largely depends on the specific language pairs. For example, translations between English and Spanish are often better than translations involving Asian or African languages, where grammatical structures and cultural differences are very different.(Slator的一项研究发现,谷歌翻译的准确性在很大程度上取决于特定的语言组合。例如,英语和西班牙语之间的翻译通常比涉及亚洲或非洲语言的翻译效果更好,因为这些语言的语法结构和文化差异非常大。)”可知,不同语言组合的翻译效果存在差异,部分语言组合的翻译结果优于其他组合。故选B项。 【10题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第四段中的“Moreover, research from Smartling indicates that Google Translate is most suitable for basic communication rather than professional or legal translations. While it can provide a general idea of a text’s meaning, it often falls short of delivering correct translations for specialized fields like medicine, law, or marketing.(此外,来自Smartling的研究表明,谷歌翻译最适合基础交流,而非专业或法律领域的翻译。虽然它能让人了解文本的大致意思,但在医学、法律或营销等专业领域,它往往______提供准确的译文。)”可知,前文明确谷歌翻译不适合专业领域,且“while”表转折,强调其在基础交流中能发挥作用,但在专业领域无法达到“提供准确译文”的要求,结合语境可推断,“falls short of”表达“无法达到某种标准或要求”的含义。故选C项。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“Despite improvements, Google Translate is not free from errors. First, the tool sometimes translates phrases word-for-word, resulting in unnatural or incorrect meanings. Second, sentence structures may be incorrect, especially in non-European languages. Additionally, Google Translate has trouble with ambiguous (含糊的) words or cultural differences that require deeper understanding.(尽管有所改进,谷歌翻译仍存在错误。 故选A项。 D Some universities in China and around the world are making changes to the ways in which they deliver liberal arts (文科) subjects, with some subjects being removed. These changes have caused a lot of discussion in China with some questioning the value of these subjects and others saying their removal is leading to a global reduction in the liberal arts. Universities have the right and the responsibility to ensure their courses best equip their students to gain more opportunities in the job market. Education resources tend to be concentrated on science and engineering subjects that lead to better jobs, and this tendency is becoming increasingly clear, driven by market demand. Liberal arts subjects aim to improve life and society. In this sense, the more developed a society is, the more liberal arts are needed. Human development requires liberal arts that keep up with the times. Today, what we need is the kind of humanities (人文科学) and social sciences that can adapt to modern society, which is advancing in science and technology. Liberal arts must welcome the Internet, big data, AI, cloud computing, and so on. The change of liberal arts subjects in universities is unavoidable. In modern university education, the humanities are increasingly serving as general education. Future-centered humanities education should not, and cannot, promise a clear path from specialization to a specific career as natural sciences might. Instead, it should focus on offering a liberal arts education that equips future scientists, technicians, and professionals with humanistic qualities. This education doesn’t provide specific job skills, but aims to cultivate (培养) citizens with critical thinking, cross-cultural awareness, and the ability to construct meaning independently. Liberal arts should have the ability to provide effective “public products” for society. They are not material or technological products, but thoughts, discourses (话语), and theories. 12. Why are some liberal arts subjects removed? A. They are difficult to master. B. Their benefits show slowly. C. They need more resources. D. Their views are imaginary. 13. How can liberal arts subjects keep up with the times? A. By providing hands-on chances. B. By focusing on practical topics. C. By using popular academic terms. D. By opening doors to technologies. 14. What do liberal arts aim to cultivate? A. Sense of cooperation. B. Self-reflection ability. C. Global perspectives (视角). D. Self-learning ability. 15. What is the suitable title for the text? A. Are humanities losing ground? B. Humanities: basis for sciences C. Will liberal arts make changes? D. Liberal arts: searching for truth 【答案】12. B 13. D 14. C 15. A 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇议论文。文章讨论了大学文科课程的调整,指出为适应就业市场需求及科技发展,文科需与时俱进,注重培养人文素养与批判性思维。 【12题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段“Education resources tend to be concentrated on science and engineering subjects that lead to better jobs, and this tendency is becoming increasingly clear, driven by market demand.(教育资源往往集中在能带来更好工作的理工科上,在市场需求的驱动下,这一趋势正变得越来越明显。)”和最后一段“Future-centered humanities education should not, and cannot, promise a clear path from specialization to a specific career as natural sciences might.(以未来为中心的人文学科教育不应、也无法像自然科学那样,承诺一条从专业学习到特定职业的明确道路。)”可知,在今天的就业市场上,文科课程无法像理科那样快速体现职业价值,其益处显现较慢。故选B。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“Liberal arts must welcome the Internet, big data, AI, cloud computing, and so on. The change of liberal arts subjects in universities is unavoidable.(文科必须欢迎互联网、大数据、人工智能、云计算等等。高校文科的变革势在必行。)”可知,文科要想与时俱进,必须开启科技之门。故选D。 【14题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“This education doesn’t provide specific job skills, but aims to cultivate (培养) citizens with critical thinking, cross-cultural awareness, and the ability to construct meaning independently.(这种教育并不提供特定的工作技能,而是旨在培养具备批判性思维、跨文化意识以及独立构建意义能力的公民。)”可知,文科旨在培养具有跨文化意识,即全球视角的公民。故选C。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第一段“These changes have caused a lot of discussion in China with some questioning the value of these subjects and others saying their removal is leading to a global reduction in the liberal arts.(这些变化在中国引发了大量讨论,有人质疑这些科目的价值,也有人认为取消这些科目正导致全球范围内文科教育的缩减。)”和全文内容可知,本文主要围绕文科科目缩减、地位下降的话题展开了分析和讨论,即讨论了“人文学科正在失去优势吗?”这一主题。故选A。 第二节七选五(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Lifelong learning is the idea that learning keeps going through our daily experiences throughout our lives. Slowing down, I opened the window and called out, “Need a ride? Let me help you with your groceries.” Getting out of the car, I placed her walker and bags into my trunk. “Bless you, child,” she said. We were off. She directed me to go south. It seemed too far for her to walk. She explained that she usually took a bus but had missed the last one. She worked as a bagger at the nearby grocery store. We chatted as if we’d known each other for years. Her name was Ida. She had grandchildren. Suddenly, I realized we were on the “wrong side of town.” It was starting to get dark, and I began to feel uneasy. We continued down unfamiliar streets until she finally pointed to an old apartment building where she lived. Several young men in their early twenties had gathered around the entrance. They were smoking something and appeared threatening. Some were on motorcycles, and one, wearing a hoodie (连帽衫) over his bushy, long hair, was staring at me intently — too intently — and smiling. I was getting more and more uncomfortable, but Ida seemed fine. I stopped the car. Ida directed a couple of the guys to help with her groceries. She thanked me, and I drove away as fast as I could. Suddenly I heard the roar of a motorcycle behind me. I recognized the biker from the apartment house — the one with the hoodie and bushy hair who kept smiling at me. He didn’t pass me but continued to drive at the same speed as me. I realized he was waving for me to stop. It would soon be getting dark. No way was I going to stop for a suspicious stranger on a deserted street. In a panic I reached down for my purse to grab my cell phone. I had to call 911. But my purse wasn’t there! 注意: 1.写作词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 “She stole my purse! So much for acts of kindness,” I thought. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I was speechless as I handed him his grandma’s purse. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 “She stole my purse! So much for acts of kindness,” I thought. Meanwhile, the guy on the motorcycle stayed close and even tried to get in front of me, signaling for me to stop. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a purse on the floor of my car. Yes, there was a purse, but it wasn’t mine. Then I saw the guy right outside my window, waving my purse! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I pulled over to the curb, and the young man stopped his motorcycle by the passenger side. Through the window I had opened, he handed me my purse. “Grandma sent me to give you this. She picked it up by mistake. She is so sorry.” He was still smiling. This time, his smile didn’t appear threatening, simply gracious. I was speechless as I handed him his grandma’s purse. Then he took off. After retrieving a few dollars, I waved for the young man to stop, hoping to reward him, but he had disappeared into the night. I did manage to yell, “Thank you!” I had assumed he was a criminal because he looked “wild” but he was really an angel who went out of his way to help a stranger. Sometimes, we misjudge a person’s character because they don’t conform to what we believe is proper. They may not drive a stylish car, live on the “right” side of town, or dress in what we consider to be fashionable, but who’s to say they are not equal to or better than we are? 词类激活 行为类 ①示意:signal/gesture ②停车:stop/pull over ③递给:hand/pass ④大叫:yell/shout 情绪类 ①亲切的:gracious/kind ②野蛮的:wild/rude 【点睛】【高分句型1】Meanwhile, the guy on the motorcycle stayed close and even tried to get in front of me, signaling for me to stop.(运用了现在分词作状语) 【高分句型2】Sometimes, we misjudge a person’s character because they don’t conform to what we believe is proper.(运用了because引导的原因状语从句和what引导的宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年高二第一学期陈经纶中学期中考试 本试卷共11页,满分150分, 考试时间为120分钟 一 .听力(共20小题,满分20分) 第一节角色扮演 角色:你是Tom。 任务:(1)与同学Mary 谈论看展览的话题; (2)根据谈话内容回答另一朋友的提问。 参考词汇:the Forbidden City 紫禁城(即故宫) (一)听对话,补全句子。录音读一遍。(共4空,每空0.5分,满分2分)。 1.Good morning,Mary. _________was your_________ 2.Visiting exhibition has become a. _________social activity for_________people (二)请先根据中文提示将3-5题的问句补充完整,然后听录音的回答,记录重要信息。 录音回答播放两遍。(每空0.5分,满分3分) 3.为什么年轻人喜欢看展览? __________________young people like visiting exhibitions? 4. 你最喜欢香港的哪个展览? __________________exhibition do you like in Hong Kong? 5. 游客在哪里可以买到一些礼品? __________________visitors buy some gifts? A. desire to find her true self B. feeling about being a radio hostess C. story of exploring the meaning of life D. expericnce and feeling of overcoming shyness C Google Translate has improved significantly over the years. Additionally, Google Translate has trouble with ambiguous (含糊的) words or cultural differences that require deeper understanding. C Fail to meet the standard. D. Fall a very short distance. 11. What is an improvement direction for Google Translate? A. Fewer grammar mistakes. B. Unique user experiences. C. Quicker responses. D. Offline translation. D Some universities in China and around the world are making changes to the ways in which they deliver liberal arts (文科) subjects, with some subjects being removed. D.
