March 3 23:59
I have been a Junior 3 student for 4 months. It is likely the hardest time of my school life so far. Recently, I can’t fall asleep until lying in bed for about two hours. Even if I do fall asleep, light noises can wake me up. Also, I feel troubled if I go to bed without finishing the homework, making the situation even worse. I feel down and don’t want to do anything these days.
Zhang Rui, 15, Taiyuan No. 1 Middle School
March 4 8:30
Sometimes, you can’t fall asleep because your brain is tired but your body isn’t. Doing more physical exercise can help you fall asleep faster. Try to give up the idea that you must sleep in the way that you normally do. Closing your eyes and relaxing your body can be part of the “sleep” you value. More importantly, it’s necessary to plan your daytime and finish what you should do according to the plan, so you can feel less worried at night.
Dr. Fu
March 4 15:00
It’s common for students to have sleeping trouble at your age. It is reported that the percentage of Chinese teens who have sleeping trouble reaches 62.9%, with 81.2% of them being middle and high school students. You can start by thinking about what is causing the pressure that stops you from sleeping. Shanxi Province is known as the “Home of Vinegar (醋) ” and is the birthplace of Chinese vinegar culture. Shanxi aged vinegar has a history of more than 3, 000 years. Qingxu County in Taiyuan is famous for its high- quality sorghum (高粱) , which is the main raw material for making vinegar. In 2006, the county’s vinegar- making skills were added to the national list of intangible cultural heritage, and now it already has over 80 vinegar- making businesses.
Making good vinegar is a careful, step- by- step process that keeps old traditions alive. First, workers break the sorghum into small pieces and mix them with water. Then, they steam the mixture in a large pot. This is called steaming. Next, the steamed mixture is moved to a special warm room for fermentation (发酵) . This is a very important step— it gives the vinegar its rich color and nice taste. After fermentation, the mixture is soaked in water to get the sour liquid (液体) out. This step is called leaching. Finally, the sour liquid is put into big open vats and left outside for many years. This slow process, called aging, turns the liquid into thick, dark, and fragrant Shanxi aged vinegar.
Step 1: Making the mixture → Step 2: ▲ → Step 3: Fermentation → Step 4: Leaching the sour liquid → Step 5: Aging
Vinegar has many benefits in daily life. It can help control blood sugar and help your body break down food better. It can also clean things at home and kill harmful small living things. In recent years, the Shanxi vinegar industry has kept its traditional methods while adding new flavors, such as fruit-infused vinegar, to attract more young consumers. Today, Shanxi aged vinegar is sold in many countries, including the USA, Canada, and Australia. In order to promote (推广) , we can make vinegar-flavored cakes, candies and snacks because kids and the young love them. Or we can design some handbags with the pictures of vinegar which will make the handbags look more interesting.

Growth and Me
Growth is a journey full of ups and downs, not just about getting older, but also about learning, changing and becoming a better person.
Last term, I joined an English speech contest. At first, I was so nervous that I wanted to give up. My teacher encouraged me and helped me practice every day. With her support, I built up my courage and won first prize.
This experience taught me growth means facing challenges bravely. I’ve since become more confident and ready for new things.
