On the early morning streets of Dianjiang, Chongqing, a gentle smell of soybeans (黄豆) rises in the light mist and wakes the town. Even when people are in a hurry, they still want something spicy, tasty, hot and good for the stomach. One dish offers all of this at a friendly price—a bowl of Dianjiang Stone-ground Douhua.
Dianjiang Stone-ground Douhua is a soft tofu dish that has been around for centuries. It’s more than a local dish. Since 2019, it’s been known as part of Chongqing’s intangible cultural heritage. From farmhouse kitchens to small workshops, this simple dish carries a homely feeling and the values of local people.
Dianjiang Stone-ground Douhua grew from nature and local wisdom. With good farmland, clean underground water and green stone used for mills (石磨), the making of Dianjiang Stone-ground Douhua slowly developed into a fine craft. Passed down over generations, it holds the importance of hard work and the peace of the countryside life.
The making of Dianjiang Stone-ground Douhua follows clear steps. First, soybeans are put into water until they become soft. Next, they are slowly ground with a stone mill—a key difference from other kinds of douhua. Then, the soy milk is cooked and filtered (过滤). After that brine (卤水) is added to set the Douhua—another key step of its own. Finally, it is cut into pieces and served hot.
Dianjiang Stone-ground Douhua is usually eaten with a spicy dipping sauce (蘸料) made with chili oil and garlic. The soft taste of tofu and the fresh sauce create a strong but balanced flavor. In every bowl of Dianjiang Stone-ground Douhua, local people taste tradition, trust and a feeling of home.
24 When did Stone-ground Douhua become part of Chongqing’s intangible cultural heritage?
A. In 2019. B. In 2016. C. In 2009. D. In 2006.

(One October afternoon, Anne welcomed her best friend Diana to Green Gables for afternoon tea.)
Scene One
Before going out, Marilla reminded her daughter Anne, “The raspberry cordial (树莓果汁) is on the kitchen table. Be careful and don’t take the wrong bottle.”
“I won’t,” Anne answered. She wanted everything to be perfect for Diana.
On the kitchen table stood a bottle filled with a bright red drink. It looked just like raspberry cordial, so Anne poured it into Diana’s glass without thinking twice.
Diana drank one glass, then another. In no time, her face turned red. She began to laugh loudly and could hardly stand. Anne grew worried, but she still didn’t know what had gone wrong.
Scene Two
Not long after, Mrs Barry, Diana’s mother, learned what her daughter had drunk. She hurried to Green Gables, her face full of anger.
“What drink did you give my daughter? That was not raspberry cordial!” she cried.

Mrs Barry turned to Anne. “Diana is not allowed to come here again!”
Anne stood there silently, feeling sorry and heartbroken.
Scene Three
Several days later, Diana ran into Green Gables.
“Oh, Anne, do come quick! Minnie May is awfully sick. Father and Mother are away. I don’t know what to do!” Diana’s voice shook and tears rolled down her face.
Anne didn’t waste a moment and went with her at once.
Scene Four
Remembering what she had learned while caring for sick children in hospital before, Anne stayed calm and worked patiently all night until a doctor finally arrived. Minnie May felt much better.
The next day, Mrs Barry went to Green Gables with some fresh flowers for Anne.
“Anne,” she smiled and said gently, “I’m truly sorry. I shouldn’t have kept you and Diana apart. I supposed you might hurt her, but now I realize you never would. If it’s all right with you, Diana may visit you again.”
Anne said nothing, but her eyes shone softly. She had made a careless mistake, but from it she learned the true meaning of friendship.

“ Can anything really live there? ” Many people ask this question when they think of the deepest parts of the ocean. Deep in trenches (海沟) nearly 9,000 meters under the sea, there’s no sunlight. The pressure can be about 1,000 times higher than at the surface, and the temperature is only 1—4℃. For years, scientists have believed such an environment on Earth cannot support life.
This idea seems reasonable. In most known ecosystems, sunlight is the starting point of the food chain. Microorganisms (微生物) and plants use sunlight to produce energy, and small animals get energy by feeding on them. Larger animals then depend on these smaller ones. Without sunlight, the food chain can’t start. Scientists believe that unusually high pressure can harm cells (细胞) and make it hard for life to stay alive.
However, this idea started to change after Du Mengran, a Chinese scientist, and her team carried out their deep-sea research. These Chinese scientists were the first to discover amazing living things in the darkest and deepest parts of the ocean. These living things don’t depend on sunlight. Instead, they get energy from chemicals found in the deep sea. The discovery shows that life on Earth can live in ways scientists have never imagined.
Their way of getting energy is called chemosynthesis, a process that deep-sea animals use to make energy in darkness. Unlike photosynthesis, which depends on sunlight, chemosynthesis uses chemicals instead. During chemosynthesis, some microorganisms use chemicals to produce energy, and deep-sea animals depend on microorganisms. Together, they set up a food system without sunlight. As a result, ▲ .
On December 8th, 2025, Du Mengran was named one of Nature’s 2025 Figures Looking back on deep-sea exploration in China’s submersible (深潜器) Fendouzhe, Du said, “Down in the deepest and darkest place on Earth, the pressure is unusually high and the environment is terribly difficult, but life still tries its best to stay alive.”
32. How does the writer explain such trenches cannot support life?
A. By giving numbers and facts. B. By comparing different opinions.
C. By telling an interesting story. D. By showing beautiful ocean scenes.
33. According to the passage, which picture best matches New Deep-Sea Food Chain?
A.
B.
C.
D.
34. Which of the following sentences can be put into ▲ ?
A. scientists start to rethink what sunlight really needs
B. plants take in much energy and keep sea water fresh
C. energy is no longer necessary for the new food system
D. scientists have changed how they understand life on Earth
35. Which student is most probably influenced by this passage?
A. Candy, “We should stop hunting sharks for fin and protect endangered sharks.”
B. Mark, “When I feel stressed, I will learn to stay as strong as deep-sea animals.”
C. Ben, “I want to be a computer programmer and invent AI tools when I grow up.”
D. Lucy, “We should protect the ocean and never throw rubbish and plastic into it.”
A 33. C 34. D 35. B
根据“Deep in trenches(海沟)nearly 9,000 meters under the sea, there’s no sunlight. The pressure can be about 1,000 times higher than at the surface, and the temperature is only 1—4℃.”
根据“These living things don’t depend on sunlight. Instead, they get energy from chemicals found in the deep sea…Their way of getting energy is called chemosynthesis…During chemosynthesis, some microorganisms use chemicals to produce energy, and deep-sea animals depend on microorganisms.”
根据前文“The discovery shows that life on Earth can live in ways scientists have never imagined.”及第三段“Their way of getting energy is called chemosynthesis, a process that deep-sea animals use to make energy in darkness.”
根据“Du said, “Down in the deepest and darkest place on Earth, the pressure is unusually high and the environment is terribly difficult, but life still tries its best to stay alive.”

Dear friends,
I often feel worried when I have to make small choices in daily life. For example, at our school dining room, there are many kinds of dishes. Should I get spicy chicken or fried eggs today? In the dorm (宿舍), my roommates argue about who to use the shower first. In the class meeting, I don’t know who to vote (投票) for. These things may seem small, but they really stress me out. I’m posting this here to ask for advice. Any ideas?
Wang Hua
Hi, Wang Hua. I totally understand you. We had the same problem in our dorm. Everyone wanted to use the shower first, and it often kept everyone upset. Later, we found a simple solution. Now we play a decision-making game called Rock-Paper-Scissors (RPS). Here comes our dorm rule. Whoever wins RPS gets the shower first. This simple game takes less time but keeps things fair and makes waiting much happier for everyone. Maybe you can try this in your dorm, too.
Li Ai
Hello, Wang Hua, I’m different from you. I believe there is no perfect choice in the world, so I would like to decide quickly instead of thinking too much and wasting time. I often use a decision-making game called “Dian-Bing-Dian-Jiang.” When I say the chant (童谣), I point from one choice to another: spicy chicken, fried eggs, beef noodles... When the chant ends, I just take the dish which I pointed at. In the game, every choice has the same chance, so deciding like this is not only quick but also fair. That’s my experience.
Zhao Yi
Wang Hua, I know how you feel. I’m shy and I don’t want to hurt others’ feelings. I used to fear class voting because I didn’t know which class leader to vote for when they all seemed good to me. My teacher has taught me a decision-making game named Drawing (抽签). I write all the names or small pieces of paper and draw one. Each name has the same chance, which makes the decision fair. This way, bad feelings no longer trouble me. Hope this works for you.

45. Luke along with his classmates ________ (be) thirsty for holidays now.
【答案】is
along with“随同……一起”,遵循“就远原则”,即连接多个主语,谓语动词与第一个主语的单复数形式保持一致,Luke作主语,第三人称单数形式,now,一般现在时,be动词用is。故填is。
46. The saying “Love you, Laoji” becomes ________ (fame) all of a sudden.
47. The classic books are worth ________ (spread) widely all over the world.

怎么样”的表达,对应的句式是“ask sb. what we think of sth.”。 故填what;thought。

Handshakes are more than simple social actions. They also serve as a way to express ourselves. In fact, in different situations, we use handshakes in different ways.
In daily life, a kind handshake brings respect, warmth and comfort to others. For example, when two hands meet, the touch is strong but friendly, and a small smile appears on both faces. This simple action can bring respect and take away coldness and discomfort. Even without words, shaking hands in a kind way can tell others we are quite friendly.
However, in diplomacy (外交), a wise handshake shows something else. A meaningful example comes from the 1954 Geneva Conference (会议). After Premier Zhou-Enlai shook hands with the US representative (代表), the American took off his glove, cleaned his hand with a handkerchief (手帕) and put it away. Seeing that, Premier Zhou calmly cleaned his hand with his own handkerchief and threw it into a trash bin, saying, “It can’t be cleaned anymore.” In this way, the handshake and its silent reply showed that the Premier had strong principles (原则).
In another example, the Chinese representative Liu Jinsong met with a Japanese representative. Dressed in a traditional Zhongshan suit, he kept standing without holding out his hand. When questioned about not shaking hands, he replied, “It’s too cold to shake hands.” In this way, the choice not to shake hands became “a wise handshake”, expressing strong positions to others in silence.
All in all, handshakes can say a lot and show what kind of person we are. Most importantly, what matters most is not whether we shake hands, but how we choose to do it. As the examples above show, shaking hands in these ways can show we are friendly in daily life and we are strong in serious situations.
Handshakes ___55___ by us in different situations. In common situations, they make others feel respected, ___56___. In diplomacy, they express ___57___ to others in silence. All in all, the three examples show we can be friendly in daily life and strong in serious situations if ___58___.
55. are used
56. warm and comfortable
57. our strong positions
58. we shake hands wisely
根据第一段“In fact, in different situations, we use handshakes in different ways.” 故填are used。
根据第二段“In daily life, a kind handshake brings respect, warmth and comfort to others.” 故填warm and comfortable。
根据第四段“the choice not to shake hands became ‘a wise handshake’, expressing strong positions to others in silence.” 故填our strong positions。
根据最后一段“As the examples above show, shaking hands in these ways can show we are friendly in daily life and we are strong in serious situations.” 故填we shake hands wisely。

Marilla checked the bottle. “It is currant wine (酒),” she said, totally amazed!

A.
B.

B. plants take in much energy and keep sea water fresh
C. energy is no longer necessary for the new food system
D. scientists have changed how they understand life on Earth

Handshakes are more than simple social actions. They also serve as a way to express ourselves. In fact, in different situations, we use handshakes in different ways.
In daily life a kind handshake brings respect, warmth and comfort to others.
