I knew how to communicate with people around me, but I found there were many more things I needed to learn. I realised this when I was taking a pottery (陶艺) class.
In class, as the teacher asked us to shape the clay (黏土) into a flower, I happily started to do it. Soon I noticed that my classmate Adam was still playing with his clay. “Hey, we are expected to make a flower now,” I said. He looked at me and then stayed silent. I worried he wouldn’t have enough time to finish his work, so I made another flower. “Here,” I said. “You can use this if you want to catch up.” “Do you always tell everyone what to do?” he shouted. My face turned red.
In the next class, I noticed he was making a tiger. He saw me looking at him and he glared at me. “Are you planning to tell me how to do this, too?” I didn’t know what to say. I was trying to be friendly, not impolite (不礼貌的), but Adam misunderstood me. I was sad and almost cried. Luckily, the class ended soon.
Later, I knew what Adam had experienced. I felt sorry for what I had done. We should give others enough space when getting along with them.

A.Show Others Enough Care B.Help Others in Need
C.Understand Others’ Mistakes D.Give Others Enough Space
根据“I knew how to communicate with people around me, but I found there were many more things I needed to learn.”(我知道如何与周围的人交流,但我发现还有很多东西需要学习。)
根据“In class, as the teacher asked us to shape the clay into a flower...”(在课堂上,老师让我们把黏土塑造成一朵花……) 故选A。
根据前文,作者好意给同学Adam提供帮助,却被Adam误解,还被质问“Are you planning to tell me how to do this, too?”(你也打算告诉我该怎么做这个吗?),结合语境,此时Adam的态度应是生气的。“glared at”所在句 “He saw me looking at him and he glared at me.”
根据“I happily started to do it.”可知,作者一开始很开心;根据“I worried he wouldn’t have enough time to finish his work, so I made another flower.”可知,随后作者感到很担心;根据“I was sad and almost cried. Luckily, the class ended soon.”可知,紧接着作者感到很伤心;根据“I felt sorry for what I had done.” 故选A。

A “happy place” is something that brings you comfort, safety and happiness — you can be there in real life or just imagine it. It can be physical places like your bedroom, a nearby park or your grandma’s house; it can also be mental (精神的) spaces such as a peaceful beach you remember from childhood or a magical garden you dream up. No matter what it is, it helps you get away from stress, sadness or boredom and feel better again.
Scientist Frances Trussell says you can turn to your happy place whenever you need it. For example, after arguing with your parents, you may feel angry; when you know your bad exam results, you may feel upset; or when your best friend misunderstands you, you may feel sad — these are all good times to go to your happy place. The best part is that it’s always there for you; you don’t have to go anywhere or change your plans to feel its calm.
Creating your own happy place is easy, and you can make it exactly the way you like. If it’s a physical space, you can set up a comfortable corner in your bedroom with cushions, a soft blanket, your favorite books or small gifts that matter to you. For a mental or imaginary happy place, first, you can pick up a happy moment from your memories — maybe a day at the park or a quiet night with family. Then, try to picture every detail (细节): what you saw, heard, smelled and felt. If you’re making up a new place, let your creativity run wild-add all the things that make you smile.
By making and using your happy place on purpose, you’ll feel better whenever life gets hard — and the more you use it, the more you will enjoy staying there.
A “happy place” is something that makes us 1 . It can be in physical or mental form. Scientist Trussell suggests turning to it if needed. When 2 , it’s the perfect time to go to our happy place. 3 by setting up a corner, or an imaginary one by using memories and creativity. Finally, the more we use this happy place, 4 it will be.

2.根据原文中“after arguing with your parents…feel angry;…know your bad exam results…feel upset;…best friend misunderstands you…feel sad”这些场景描述可知,当我们感到愤怒、沮丧、难过,即感觉不好时,就是前往快乐之地的好时机。故填we don’t feel well/we are feeling bad。
3.根据原文“Creating your own happy place is easy…If it’s a physical space, you can set up a comfortable corner…For a mental or imaginary happy place, first, you can pick up a happy moment from your memories”可知,我们可以通过布置角落,或是借助回忆与创意来创造快乐之地。故填We can create one。
