On December 10, Australia became the first country to make a new rule.
Kids under 16 cannot have their own user IDs on popular apps like TikTok and Facebook. The rule wants to protect teens’ mental health (心理健康) and keep them safe online. Because social apps may give them pressure and bad influences.
The government hopes to stop teens from using social apps too early. However, people have different ideas. Under the new rule, companies (公司) must check users’ ages. But people worry if companies have a clear way to do so because kids can lie about their ages easily. Another important thing is that under-16s can still use these apps without user IDs. Over 3,000 years ago, people started using oracle bone inscriptions (甲骨文).
The inscriptions and numbers were written on turtle shells (龟壳) or animal bones (兽骨). They recorded how ancient people lived and worked.
What things did people record? Did they record special days only? Actually not. Common people recorded how many animals they hunted, how much food they got, or how many days had passed. How about kings? They used them to record events like wars or celebrations. This helped the kings to manage the kingdoms better.
The oracle bone numbers were quite different from the numbers we use today. They used lines and symbols. For example, the numbers one to four were simple horizontal (水平的) lines. From five, they used more special symbols.

Researchers put them into two groups: one group said nothing while playing, and the other talked to themselves while playing. They found that the self-talkers showed more confidence and played better.
Self-talk also helps to improve memory. Researchers tested four different ways to memorize things: reading silently, reading aloud, listening to others read and listening to a record of reading. The result showed those who read aloud remembered the information the best.

Over 3,000 years ago, people started using oracle bone inscriptions (甲骨文).
The inscriptions and numbers were written on turtle shells (龟壳) or animal bones (兽骨). They recorded how ancient people lived and worked.

How about kings? They used them to record events like wars or celebrations. This helped the kings to manage the kingdoms better.

They found that the self-talkers showed more confidence and played better.
