动词不定式由“to+动词原形”构成,没有人称和数的变化,在句子中不能单独作谓语。也称为非谓语动词,是为了避免简单句中产生两个谓语。

动词不定式的用法
1、动词不定式的构成:
to+动词原形 ,没有人称和数的变化,在句子中不能做谓语。其中to是动词不定式符号,在有些情况下可以省略。动词不定式的否定形式为“not to+动词原形”。
2.动词不定式的用法
具有名词,形容词和副词的特性,因此可在句子中做主语,宾语,表语,宾语补足语,定语和状语(重点目的状语)等。
Mr Li told me to listen carefully in class.
李老师要求我上课认真听讲。
Please tell Jim not to come late next time.
请告诉吉姆下次别迟到了。
句法作用 例句
做主语 To travel around the word is my dream.
做宾语 Do you want to visit the Great Wall?
做宾语补足语 He told me to practice speaking English every day.
作目的状语 To improve my English, I listen to English songs every day.
作定语 相当于形容词,I have a lot of homework to do.
1.作主语:一般位于句首,谓语动词用单数形式。
To speak English well isn’t an easy job.说好英语不是一件容易的事。为了避免句子“头重脚轻”,结构为:It+be+adj.+(for/of sb.)+动词不定式。往往用it代替不定式作形式主语,真正的主语是后面的不定式。
例:It’s very important to keep healthy.保持健康是很重要的。
注意:在kind,good,nice,clever等表示人的品质的形容词后,不用for而用of。
例:It’s very kind of you to help me. 你帮助我真是太好啦。
It’s very clever of you to do like that. 你那样做真是太聪明啦。
2.作宾语
不定式常出现在一些及物动词后,常接不定式作宾语的动词有:
学习需要努力 (learn, need, try); 想要选择拒绝 (want, choose, refuse) ;
决定开始计划(decide, begin/start, plan);
希望记得别忘记 (hope/wish/expect, remember, forget)
例:He decided to help the homeless people.
另一种是“及物动词+疑问词(what,which,who,where,when,how等)
+带to的不定式”。
例:He taught me how to use mobile phone.
注意:在find,think后跟不定式作宾语时,常用it代替,而将真正的宾语放在句末。
例:I find it easy to read English every day.
不定式作宾语补足语
在英语中,有些句子只有宾语并不能表达完整的意思,还必须在宾语后面加上宾语补足语才能表达完整的意思。宾语补足语通常位于宾语之后。我们把“宾语+宾语补足语”称为复合宾语。例如:
My father encourages me to play the guitar.
The manager asked him to wait.
The teacher tells the students not to cheat in the exam.
They often tell me not to get close to strangers.
宾语是动作的执行者
注意:当不定式作宾语补足语时,分带to的不定式作宾补和不带to的不定式作宾语两种情况。
常见的用带to的不定式作宾补的动词(短语)有:ask, advice, allow, encourage, get, order, require, teach, tell, want, wish, expect, warn, permit, force等。
常见的用不带to的不定式作宾补的动词(短语)有:“一感”feel;“二听”hear, listen to;“三使”let, have, make;“五看”see, watch, notice, observe, look at; “半帮助”help接不定式作宾补,加不加to都可以。
【Tip】动词不定式(短语)在 help 后作宾语补足语时,可带 to也可不带to。

不定式作状语
状语用来修饰动词、形容词或副词。它表示行为发生的时间、地点、目的、方式、原因、程度等意义,一般由副词、介词、介词短语、不定式、从句或相当于副词的词或短语来担任。不定式作状语时,多至于句末。但为了加强语气,突出表示目的,不定式(尤其是不定式短语in order to)可放在句首。例如:
(In order) to catch up with my classmates, I must study harder.
To catch the early bus, I got up very early this morning.
I went to the library to borrow some books.
She studies hard to get good grades.
