In He Qian’s video, she showed her feet on the ladder and then slowly turned to her nine-year-old son. He Qian sat on the ladder calmly. “I was not nervous, my son was,” she said, “but he was all right soon later.” He Qian runs a hotel nearby, where she also helps people book tickets for the new attraction. “Those who like to challenge themselves like doing this,” she added. “I’ve helped plenty of people get their tickets.”
Yuan Xiaorui, the manager of the company that operates the attraction on Mount Tianmen, told CNN that the three-hour experience costs 580 yuan ($80). “The coaches will stay with the visitors all the time,” Yuan said. “The visitors are also equipped with helmets (头盔), safety belts, and hiking backpacks.” Yuan added that the whole area is regularly checked and any problems found would be solved in time.
The number of people participating in outdoor sports in China is more than 400 million in August, 2024, according to CCTV. ①Governments around the world are pushing for an end to plastic straws (吸管) and bags. More and more businesses are turning to paper products as a choice. Paper is considered by many to be better than plastic. However, it is harmful to the environment, too.
②Firstly, paper bags and straws are made from trees. Trees, as you know, can reduce (减少) carbon dioxide (CO2) levels (水平) in the air. They can slow down climate change. An increase in the use of paper bags can cause more trees to be cut down.
③Secondly, products made from paper require more energy and water. About 10% more energy than and four times as much water is used to produce a paper bag than a plastic one. You might say that we can use recycled paper to save that energy and water. This seems to be a good idea. However, it takes even more energy and water to go through the recycling process than to make a brand-new paper bag. Products made from recycled paper are also often short-lived.
④Furthermore, paper products are heavier than plastic ones. That means they require more oil to transport. Seven trucks are needed to transport two million paper bags, while only one truck is needed to transport the same number of plastic bags. The increased weight also leads to a large amount of waste once the bags are thrown away.
⑤Paper products are actually a lose-lose for both the environment and businesses. They are more expensive than plastic products. A paper straw costs about 5 to 12 cents, while a plastic one usually costs only about 2 cents.
⑥The most environment-friendly solution is to avoid single-use products altogether. Products like glass water bottles and steel straws can be used over and over again. They are much better than either paper products or plastic products. Through increasing the use of these products, you can greatly reduce your throwaway waste and truly make our earth a greener place!
27.How does the writer introduce the topic?
A.By listing a fact. B.By giving an example. C.By telling a story.
28.What’s the structure of this passage?
A.①→②③④⑤→⑥ B.①②③→④⑤⑥ C.①②→③④→⑤⑥
29.Which of the following may the writer agree with?
A.Paper products are good for environment and businesses.
B.It’s best to buy reusable products like steel straws.
C.We should use single-use cups to drink water.
30.What’s the purpose of the passage?
A.To introduce the advantages of paper products.
B.To push for an end to plastic straws and bags.
C.To call on using products in an environment-friendly way.

Young Volunteers Help Protect Intangible Cultural Heritage
Intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is an important part of a country’s culture. In recent years, more and more young people have become volunteers to help protect ICH. 17-year-old Zhang Wei is one of them. He has been a volunteer at the local ICH museum for two years.
Zhang Wei first learned about ICH from his grandmother, who is good at making paper-cutting. He fell in love with this traditional craft and wanted to do something to protect it. When he heard that the local ICH museum was recruiting volunteers, he signed up at once.
As a volunteer, Zhang Wei’s main work is to introduce ICH to visitors. He often gives speeches about the history and production process of paper-cutting, shadow puppetry and other traditional crafts. He also helps organize ICH experience activities for children. During the activities, he teaches children how to make simple paper-cuts and shadow puppets. Many children are interested in these traditional crafts after joining the activities.
Zhang Wei says that being an ICH volunteer is a meaningful experience. “I not only learn more about traditional culture but also help spread it to more people,” he said. He hopes that more young people will join him in protecting ICH. “Traditional culture is our root. We should pass it on to the next generation,” he added.
The ICH museum’s director praised Zhang Wei and other young volunteers. He said that young people are full of enthusiasm and new ideas. Their participation helps make ICH more popular among young people. The museum plans to work with local schools to set up ICH clubs to encourage more students to join the protection of ICH.

【答案】27.A 28.A 29.B 30.C
【导语】本文主要讨论了纸质产品并非比塑料产品更环保,分析了纸质产品对环境的危害,并呼吁人们使用可重复使用的产品,以实现环保目的。
27.细节理解题。根据文章第一段“Governments around the world are pushing for an end to plastic straws (吸管) and bags. More and more businesses are turning to paper products as a choice.”可知,作者通过列举“各国政府推动禁用塑料吸管和塑料袋,越来越多企业转向纸质产品”这一事实引出话题。故选A。
28.篇章结构题。文章采用“总—分—总”的典型结构,这一结构可通过各段核心句精准定位。第一段①以“However, it is harmful to the environment, too”这一转折句抛出核心观点——纸质产品虽被广泛选择,但同样危害环境;第二段②至第五段⑤为分述部分,分别通过“paper bags and straws are made from trees”“require more energy and water”“heavier than plastic ones”“more expensive than plastic products”等语句,从树木消耗、资源耗费、运输成本、经济成本四个维度具体论证纸质产品的弊端;第六段⑥以“The most environment-friendly solution is to avoid single-use products altogether”总结全文,提出最终结论。因此文章结构清晰呈现为①→②③④⑤→⑥。故选A。
29.推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“The most environment-friendly solution is to avoid single-use products altogether. Products like glass water bottles and steel straws can be used over and over again. They are much better than either paper products or plastic products.”可知,作者认为可重复使用的产品 (如钢吸管) 是更好的选择,即最推荐购买这类可重复使用的产品。故选B。
30.主旨大意题。文章主旨可通过首尾段的观点句及高频核心词锁定。开篇以“paper is considered by many to be better than plastic. However, it is harmful...”打破认知误区,中间段落围绕纸质产品的环境危害展开分析,最终在结尾明确提出“Products like glass water bottles and steel straws can be used over and over again. They are much better than either paper products or plastic products”“Through increasing the use of these products... truly make our earth a greener place”。这些语句直接指向作者的核心目的——呼吁人们弃用一次性产品,选择可重复使用的环保产品,即以环保方式使用产品。故选C。
