How many fathers usually go to your class’s parent-teacher meetings? Do you think about a “dads only” parent-teacher meeting?
This autumn, a school in Hangzhou had a special meeting. It only invited dads. The school wanted to “encourage dads to actively take part in family education,” reported Guangming Daily.
Now, the worry about the absence (缺席) of fathers in family education is growing. Most moms in China help their kids with homework—about 68 out of 100 moms do this.
However, both dads and moms play important roles in their children’s education. “Dads can shape young kids’ personalities,” said Luo Xuepeng, a father from Guangdong with a 9-year-old son. “A wise and strong dad can help children have good habits and become happier.”
Why don’t dads go to school meetings? They say:
●I’m really busy with work and can’t take time off.
●I’m not good at talking with teachers and I may miss something important. My wife is better at it.
●Traditionally, dads just make some money. Going to school meetings feels like more of a mom’s job.
●Sometimes I just like to relax and be a lazy dad.
Scientists say dads can do more to help their kids. When dads spend more time with their kids, the kids can do better when facing stress (压力). They feel more confident and it’s easier to make more friends.
29.Why did the school in Hangzhou have a “dads only” meeting?

根据第二段“This autumn, a school in Hangzhou had a special meeting. It only invited dads.”可知,杭州的一所学校举办了一个特殊的家长会,这个家长会只邀请了父亲;结合“The school wanted to ‘encourage dads to actively take part in family education,’”可知,学校是想鼓励父亲参与家庭教育。
根据第四段“However, both dads and moms play important roles in their children’s education.” 故选A。

Different colors affect how we think and feel—and food colors have a big effect on how hungry we get. You might not realize it, but the color of food often changes whether you like it. Let’s look at how common food colors work!
Red is super good at making people hungry. Red food (or even red things around food) makes your appetite (食欲) better and makes you full of energy. If you don’t want to eat, add something red to your meal. For example, a restaurant with red seats might make you feel hungrier as soon as you sit down.
Yellow also makes you want to eat more. It is the color of happiness, so many restaurants use yellow (like yellow windows or flowers) to make you feel welcome — and hungry!
Green food feels “healthy” to most people. That’s because safe, fresh foods (such as lettuce, apples, and cucumbers) are often green. People think green foods are not dangerous, so they’re happy to eat them.
On the other hand, purple and black foods are usually avoided. We’re used to thinking that these colors mean food is spoiled or bad for us. There aren’t many natural purple/black foods (only things like cranberries or eggplants).
Blue is the least appetizing color for food. A study found that even people’s favorite food becomes not tasty when it is blue—even if they tasted normal! So if you’re dieting, use blue lights in your fridge or blue kitchen tools. They’ll make you less likely to eat too much.
33.What do red and yellow have in common?
A.Both make people feel less hungry. B.Both are used to make you eat more.
C.Both are linked to healthy food. D.Both are the least appetizing colors.
34.How does the writer introduce different effects of colors on us?
A.By giving numbers. B.By giving examples.
C.By using scientists’ sayings. D.By asking questions.
35.What does “spoiled” in the text probably mean?
36.Why might blue tools help with dieting?
A.Because blue makes food taste better. B.Because blue is the most appetizing color.
C.Because blue makes food look less delicious. D.Because blue is linked to happiness.
根据文章第二段“Red is super good at making people hungry. Red food (or even red things around food) makes your appetite (食欲) better and makes you full of energy.”以及第三段“Yellow also makes you want to eat more.”

根据文章第五段“On the other hand, purple and black foods are usually avoided. We’re used to thinking that these colors mean food is spoiled or bad for us.”
根据文章最后一段“A study found that even people’s favorite food becomes not tasty when it is blue—even if they tasted normal! So if you’re dieting, use blue lights in your fridge or blue kitchen tools. They’ll make you less likely to eat too much.”
D

A.To help teachers know their students better.

D

Let’s talk about housework at home first. Some people think the students don’t need to do housework. But I don’t think so. In fact, it brings a lot of benefits (好处). Doing housework can help us know the real everyday life and how to live a good everyday life.
Cleaning classrooms is usually the labor education at school. Teachers ask us to do that every day. We love to do that because it shows our love to our school and we are part of our school or class. When we do it, we can get more responsibility (责任感) from it.
Also, study and doing the labor work are not separate (分离的) from each other in this world. ▲. Study and labor work together can help us to get a good life from the world and help us to be a useful person to the world.
In a word, taking labor education can help us to know more about the world, live a good life, have more responsibility and be a useful person. I hope every one of us can take more labor education and make the world great!
