(Subject Clauses)
连接代词 who, whom, whose, what, which 在从句中充当主语、宾语、定语等
连接副词 when, where, why, how 在从句中充当状语
That beauty comes from inner qualities is a universal truth.(美来自内在品质是一个普遍真理。)
It is widely accepted that confidence makes people more attractive.(人们普遍认为自信会让人更有吸引力。)
Whether we judge others by their appearance often affects our relationships.(我们是否以貌取人往往会影响人际关系。)
It remains unknown whether the stereotype will be broken soon.(这种刻板印象是否会很快打破仍未知。)
What truly matters is not how you look but who you are.(真正重要的不是你的外表,而是你的内在。)
Who will win the “most beautiful person” award is still a mystery.(谁会赢得“最美人物”奖仍是个谜。)
Which hairstyle suits you best depends on your face shape and personality.(哪种发型最适合你取决于你的脸型和性格。)
How we perceive beauty varies from culture to culture.(我们如何看待美因文化而异。)
Why people are prejudiced against others’ appearance is a complex question.(人们为何会对他人的外表抱有偏见是一个复杂的问题。)
When we should stop judging others by their looks is a key lesson in this unit.(我们何时该停止以貌取人是本单元的一个重要课题。)
1. It + be + 形容词 + that 从句
It is obvious that first impressions can be misleading.(很明显,第一印象可能具有误导性。)
2. It + be + 名词短语 + that 从句
It is a fact that inner beauty lasts longer than outer appearance.(内在美比外在美更持久是一个事实。)
3. It + be + 过去分词 + that 从句
It is believed that everyone deserves to be respected regardless of their looks.(人们认为,无论外表如何,每个人都值得被尊重。)
2. whether 与 if 的区别:主语从句中只能用 whether,不能用 if;whether 可与 or not 连用,if 则不能。
What he says and does reflects his true character.(误)
What he says and does reflects his true character.(正,主语从句整体视为单数)
(Recommending “the most beautiful person you know”)
(Recommending “the most beautiful person you know”),要求你跳出对“美”的肤浅定义,聚焦人物的内在品质(如善良、勇气、尊严、坚持等),通过具体事例来展现其“真正的美”。

2. 主体段(Body Paragraphs)

(Conclusion)

At the “I Am Mbare” community school near Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, over 30 children sat in neat rows in the small schoolyard. Their eyes were wide with curiosity as I unrolled my calligraphy work, displaying the Chinese characters “sheng sheng bu xi” as my encouragement for the kids to grow healthily.
I read the words aloud and explained their meaning. I was touched as the children excitedly tried to imitate (模仿) me, showing their interest in my calligraphy and the Chinese language. The small yard was filled with their enthusiasm.
This happened during a field trip I took from July 1 to 9 as part of the Tsinghua University Global Competency Overseas Practicum Course. The course sent four teams to various countries as part of a summer program in 2024, and I was selected as a member of the team visiting Zimbabwe.
This small-scale, in-depth course wants to help students to have a global vision, facilitating future people-to-people connections.
During my time in Zimbabwe, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my calligraphy talents played a significant role in cultural exchanges. One of the highlights was a forum (论坛) where we engaged in a series of activities with local artists. While my fellow team members sang Welcome to Beijing, I created four calligraphy pieces and presented these pieces on stage at the end of the song, receiving an enthusiastic response.
In addition to my performance at the forum, I devoted time each evening to creating calligraphy tailored for the people we were to visit the next day. My efforts were well-received, as the Zimbabweans’ initial surprise at my calligraphy turned into delight, recognition, and gratitude after I explained the meanings to them. This gave me a sense of achievement and firsthand experience in cultural exchanges.
This experience in Zimbabwe has made me realize the power of art to bridge differences. These valuable connections will stay with me, inspiring me to continue sharing Chinese culture while remaining open to others.

Compared with the obvious environmental issues we hear about every day, littering (乱丢废物)is often taken lightly. But it’s more severe than we may think.
___36___This seems to be a completely harmless action due to the fact that if s part of a fruit—right? Actually, no. A banana peel (皮)can take up to two years to decompose (分解),and with a third of drivers admitting to littering while driving, that’s a whole lot of banana peels, or much worse. An orange peel or a cigarette butt has a similar decomposing term to that of a banana. But tin and aluminium (铝)cans last up to 100 years. ____37____
It’s true that longer-lasting materials will damage the environment and its animals for longer. ____38____ For example, despite its fairly short decomposing term, more than 120 tons of cigarette-related litter is discarded (丢弃)in the UK every day. Besides, our annual littering, which has increased by 500 percent since the 1960s, has caused the UK*s rat population to increase by 60 million.
It’s not a cheap habit either: ____39____ So, ifs not surprising that if caught littering you could face a £20,000 fine or even jail time and, if you throw away something dangerous, the court could give you five years to serve. The punishments might seem severe. ____40____ So we still have some way to go in making sure people follow the rules.
To take back our beautiful countryside and cities we need to do more than simply not littering. We need to truly care more about the world around us.
A. Banana peels are among the most frequent littered stuff.
B. But fear of the environmental impact of litter is on the rise.
C. Imagine throwing a banana peel out of your car while driving.
D. UK taxpayers pay £500 million in order to keep our streets clean.
E. And plastic bottles last forever, as do glass bottles and plastic bags.
F. However, among the reported cases only 2,000 out of 825,000 were punished.
G. But we can't simply measure the seriousness of a certain type of rubbish by its lifetime.
C 37. E 38. G 39. D 40. F

故填to。
故填are planted。
What green roofs with vegetation can do 是主语从句(作句子主语),is 为系动词,that they help... carbon emissions 是表语从句(阐述主语内容), 主语从句缺动词do 后面的宾语,故填主语从句连接代词What(注意W需要大写)
故填which。
故填an。

1. 开头段(Introduction)
