Deciding to 5 our friendship, I asked my mum to buy me a baseball bat, so I could 6 at home. I had to learn how to throw and catch the ball and be 7 on the field. I often felt as if there was no hope, but I didn’t give up.
Then, one day, 8 happened. Steve became my partner. That day, when Steve threw me his first throw, I caught it. Then I caught his next throw, and the next. I still don’t know what exactly happened that day, but I will always be 9 for it.
By the end of the season, I started to play in the baseball team. My success gave me confidence. And Steve 10 to be a great friend.

(邯郸馆陶期末改编)We are humans and it’s not always easy to get along with everyone all the time. Sometimes we hurt people’s feelings and make them angry or upset. We should apologize(道歉) to make them forgive us. Apologies are one of the daily tools we use to build good friendships and relationships. When you say “I’m sorry”, it’s because you probably think you are wrong, or you think something you did or said hurt another person. Saying “I’m sorry” is more than just words. You also mean that you respect the other person and you care about his or her feelings. After apologizing, you might feel a little better. The other person probably will as well.

When you apologize in a proper way, you can feel good because you are trying to make things right again. If someone is upset or angry because of something you did, you’ll want to set things right. Here are some situations in which an apology can make a difference:
·If you hurt or teased someone, even if you didn’t mean to make fun of him or her.
·If you lost or broke things that belonged to someone else.
·If you did something that you knew was wrong—like telling a lie or breaking a rule on purpose.

·If you didn’t do something you were supposed to do—like keeping a promise.
When someone apologizes to you, you should get ready to forgive him or her. No matter what happened, just move on. Or you might not feel like being friendly again right away. It doesn’t mean you have to be friends just because someone apologizes. It’s polite to accept and acknowledge(承认) an apology, but anything more is up to you!
