A Adverbial clauses with time conjunctions(时间状语从句)
1、用法:由after、as soon as、before、since、until、when、while等连词引导,用于描述动作发生的时间关系,是表达节日活动、假期安排的核心语法。
(When we arrived, the parade had already started.)。
(While they were preparing dinner, we watched TV.)。
· as soon as:强调“一…… (We will go out as soon as the holiday begins.)。
(We have celebrated the festival since 1990.)。
才……”(He didn’t stop working until midnight.)。
· After we finish the exam, we will have a two-week holiday.(考试结束后,我们将有两周的假期。)
· Before we begin dinner, my father always gives thanks for the food.(晚饭前,爸爸总会为食物而感恩。)
· While the band was playing, people danced happily in the street.(乐队演奏时,人们在街上开心地跳舞。)
· I have known her since we were children.(我从小就认识她。)
· 混淆while与when的用法:while后不可接短暂性动词(不可说While he came…,应为When he came…)。
(He has lived here since he graduated. 而非He lives here since…)。
需用“not…until…”(She didn’t go to bed until she finished her homework.)。
(While walking in the park, we saw many beautiful flowers.)。
(I will call you as soon as I get to Beijing.)。
