Last summer, I had a trip to Africa. While (walk) in the forest, I saw a small group of giraffes walking through the forest. They were so beautiful. And I was so excited to see them. But do you know giraffes are in great danger now?
In 1985, there were between 152,000 and 163,000 giraffes (leave) in the world, and they lived in the plains and forests of Africa. “ number of giraffes has dropped by as much as 40 percent since the 1980s,” says a news report on endangered wild animals and plants.
Why are there fewer and fewer giraffes? Because (human) are cutting down many trees to build more houses. They are also killing the giraffes (eat) their meat. A report from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (世界自然保护联盟) says, “Giraffes (die) out silently in the near future. And it is time for us (do)
