Many of us may have had the nice moment of seeing recommended (推荐的) songs after we listened to some songs on a music app. When we open shopping websites, we often see things we want to buy on the home page. If you want to take a taxi on a taxi app, it can even guess where you want to go before you tell it! Aren’t these things great?
This is based on data. Data is no longer only about numbers, but information from almost every part of our lives: our shopping habits, hobbies or what we eat. All of this is called “big data” (大数据). China is pushing forward its big data plan to better serve social and economic (经济的) development. As a result, people’s lives can get better too. It is also hoped that big data will be used more in areas like education, social safety and transportation (交通运输).
We have seen big data used more often in China in the past few years. Using it in tourism is just one example. Many travelers today like to share their trips with others on the Internet. All the data that travelers share online helps the tourism industry (旅游业) get a lot of information. After the data is studied, these scenic spots (景区) and service providers can better understand what travelers need. So services will be improved, which helps the whole industry develop. In the end, travelers can look forward to better trips in the future.
Moreover, big data is also an important tool for economic growth. With a 30 percent growth rate every year, sales of China’s big data industry will reach one trillion (万亿) yuan every year by 2030. With so many good influences, big data will surely be seen more and more in China.
42. What is “big data” according to the passage?
A. Different numbers from books.
B. Travelers’ trip stories on the internet.
C. Information from many parts of our lives.
43. How can big data help the tourism industry?
A. By studying travelers’ online-shared data to improve services.
B. By making travelers stop sharing trips online.
C. By closing some scenic spots.
44. What can we know about China’s big data industry?
A. It has no good influences on life.
B. It will grow more slowly in 2030.
C. Its sales may reach one trillion yuan a year by 2030.
45. What can be the best title for the passage?
A. Big Data: Helping Economic Growth
B. Big Data: Influencing Our Daily Lives
C. Big Data: Helping Tourism Development
【答案】42. C 43. A 44. C 45. B

Some Chinese brands are also becoming more popular. In many cities in Europe, many stores sell TCL televisions , Haier fridges and Lenovo computers. More than half of US-owned drones (无人机) are Chinese models. They’re not only made in China, but also designed and developed in the country. More and more people trust Chinese brands. “Made in China” becomes cool. “They are beautiful and offer something special that American phones don’t have,” an article on CNN once said about Chinese smartphones .
Now, Chinese government has been trying its best to improve its national brands of all kinds. We’ll be successful from “Made in China” to “Made by China”.

It’s a sunny and lovely day in Tianjin, as 21-year-old Liang Jieyi walks through the heart of the city, enjoying the beauty of the old buildings along her way. “‘City Walk’ is the coolest and the most popular way to visit a place, especially (尤其) for young people,” she said.
According to an article on social media by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (文旅部), “City Walk” is a new and relaxing way to take a trip. The key point is to have a slow-paced (慢节奏的) and immersive (沉浸式的) experience in the city, unlike travelling tiredly in the old days, visiting as many places as possible in a very short time.
Liang said she first found this way to travel on the lifestyle platform on the Internet earlier this year. There were hundreds of photos posted on the platform by users, all of which were taken as they walked along streets with views of different places of interest.
“ ▲ I just walked through different cities with beautiful buildings and great food. To my surprise, the photos I took to share my ‘walks’ through Beijing’s hutongs were already liked by hundreds of people on the Internet,” she added.
38. Which of the following pictures is “City Walk”?

A. Bored. B. Relaxed. C. Tired.
40. Which of the following sentences can be put in the ▲ ?

D
Many of us may have had the nice moment of seeing recommended (推荐的) songs after we listened to some songs on a music app. When we open shopping websites, we often see things we want to buy on the home page. If you want to take a taxi on a taxi app, it can even guess where you want to go before you tell it! Aren’t these things great?
This is based on data. Data is no longer only about numbers, but information from almost every part of our lives: our shopping habits, hobbies or what we eat. All of this is called “big data” (大数据). China is pushing forward its big data plan to better serve social and economic (经济) development.

In the world, the things made in China are everywhere. Riding a bike on the street , you might hear some people speaking Chinese aloud. Turning to the right, you might see a Sichuan-style restaurant. After walking into a store, you might see that Huawei smartphones are on sale. But you’re not in China-you're in Manchester in Britain. In fact, you might see similar things in many other cities. Chinese products have been going all over the world.
Chinese food became popular in Western countries hundreds of years ago. To meet local people’s tastes, Chinese restaurants make some changes to the dishes. “One example is the meat.” Liu Wen a Chinese student who is studying in France. “We like to eat meat with the bone in, but people here don’t. So the local Chinese restaurants provide big pieces of meat without bones, even for fish.”

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to our program Beautiful Life. Last week, some friends asked me how to change their lives by taking small steps. Here are my suggestions.
●Exercise
Want to feel better and have less stress in your life? Just exercise. It not only provides you with a healthy body, but is also good for your brain.
●Be grateful
Never forget the good things you have. You have food in your stomach, a warm bed to sleep in, clean water, family, friends and so on. Be grateful for what you have had. It makes you feel lucky and then makes you lucky.
●Connect with people
Start with the closest people around you. Spend time listening to and communicating with them. Share your knowledge and your time with someone else. Say “hello” to strangers. This will make you more open and relaxed.
I think the successful people in this world love reading. Mark Cuban, an American businessman, used to read every book he could get his hands on. Even after he became very rich, he still read at least three hours every day.
●Live in the present
