4. 具备基础的小组合作能力，适合通过讨论、互助练习等形式巩固知识。

1. Present the compound sentence: “It is the latest product and it is well-received by customers.” Compare it with the two original simple sentences.

2. Explain the definition of compound sentences: “A compound sentence is made up of two or more independent simple sentences connected by coordinating conjunctions. Sometimes, it can also be connected by commas or semicolons without conjunctions.”

3. Provide 6 example sentences and ask students to judge whether they are compound sentences.

4. Comment on students’ answers and emphasize the key point of compound sentences: “two or more independent simple sentences + coordinating conjunctions.”

1. Observe the comparison between simple sentences and the compound sentence, and listen to the teacher’s explanation of the definition.

2. Analyze the 6 example sentences, judge whether they are compound sentences, and explain their reasons briefly.
