动词-ing形式作主语
Li Hua is addicted to searching information on the Internet.His mother is worried about his health and advises him to surf the Internet properly, but it is no use persuading him① because he won’t listen.This is what his job requires.His mother wants him to change his job, but he likes it and enjoys it.Staying up late② has become his habit.There is no way, otherwise he will not finish the task assigned by the leader.In my opinion, working hard③ is one thing and having a good rest④ is another.There is no denying that we should form a good routine.

一、动词-ing形式(短语)作主语的意义
【先感悟】
①(教材典句)Getting here is quite difficult, so apart from the Sami very few people have ever seen Sarek.
②(教材典句)For hundreds of years, looking after reindeer was a way of life for the Sami.

句①②中黑体部分为动词-ing形式(短语)作 。
【善归纳】
(1)动词-ing形式(短语)作主语往往表示抽象的、概念性的动作,可以是多次的、经常性的行为;
(2)谓语动词常常使用单数形式。

(1)单句语法填空

二、动词-ing形式的复合结构
【先感悟】
①The president’s attending the meeting gave them a great deal of encouragement.
②His not defeating the rivals in the Youth Innovation Competition made him depressed.

动词-ing形式也有动作的发出者,其发出者叫 ;带有逻辑主语的动词-ing形式,其否定形式是把not放在动词-ing形式的 。
【善归纳】
动词-ing形式作主语时,其前常有其逻辑主语,动词-ing形式和它的逻辑主语构成动词-ing形式的复合结构,其逻辑主语往往是形容词性物主代词或名词所有格。
【运用练】 完成句子
①他早上起晚了,导致他上课迟到了。
made him late for class.
②他们来帮忙对我们来说是很大的鼓舞。
was a great encouragement to us.
③不知道下一步应该做什么使杰克不知所措。

三、形式主语it代替动词-ing形式(短语)作主语

四、句型“There be no+动词-ing形式(短语)”

①There is no denying that the environment is from bad to worse here.
②There is no joking about such matters.

①There is no denying that ...意为“ ”。

【善归纳】
表示“不允许、禁止某种行为的发生或存在”时,需用动词-ing形式(短语)作主语。

◇prohibit vt.(尤指以法令)禁止;阻止

【用法】
(1)prohibit doing sth 禁止做某事
prohibit sb from doing sth 禁止某人做某事
(2)prohibition n. 禁止;阻止;禁令
the prohibition of ... 禁止……
【佳句】 Parents should put emphasis on their children’s development and prohibit them from playing computer games.
家长应该重视孩子的发展,禁止他们玩电脑游戏。
