Sample:
What would happen if Qin Shi Huang hadn’t unified the Chinese writing system?
If Qin Shi Huang hadn't made everyone use the same writing system, China's writing would be very different today. Before him, different areas used different styles of Chinese characters. Without his order, these styles would have become more and more different over time. People in one area might not understand writings from another area, like how Europeans use different languages today. This would make it hard for the government to rule the whole country, and people in different places would feel less connected. Books and knowledge couldn't be shared easily between areas. Schools would teach different versions of important books. Today, China might have many writing systems instead of one, making communication and national unity much harder. Qin's "same writing" (书同文 shū tóng wén) policy kept Chinese culture united for over 2,000 years.
