If you go shopping in any toy store, you can see different kinds of games and toys for boys and girls: there are a lot of pink toys on one side of the store for girls: and dark colored cars, guns, and soldiers for boys.
Sue Palmer, writer of Toxic Childhood, is very worried that most girls over the age of three are crazy about the color. According to some scientists, this happens for two reasons. Firstly, there are too many products in pink in the market. Also, many parents think their little daughter looks cute in pink. Sue Palmer says that girls at this age cannot make right decisions by themselves, but the pink can influence the choices and the decisions they will make in the future. Vanessa Holburn is a mother of two girls who are under the age of four.
Their bedrooms are a sea of pink and Vanessa is unhappy. “Pink says that you are soft. Blue says that you are strong. I want my daughters to be strong. I’m worried that pink will not help them with that.” she says.
But not everyone thinks there’s something wrong with pink. Grayson Turner is a father of three girls and he isn’t worried at all. “People forget that things change all the time,” he says. “My girls used to love pink when they were little, but as they get older, they change.” Turner says that his twelve-year-old daughter never wears pink clothes any more. “This love of pink is just a fashion and all fashions change.” he adds.

Do you know the Dragon King in the novel Journey to the West? He can control rain. When he sneezes(打喷嚏), it rains.
Dragons are common in Chinese culture. We Chinese call ourselves “the
descendants( 传 人 )of the dragon”. How often do your parents say “wang zi cheng long”?They say it because they want you to be successful. That means you not only have the ability to control your life but also have much time to have fun.
Chinese dragons are not real. They usually have fantastic power like controlling the weather. The Chinese emperors liked dragons very much. They wore clothes with dragon pictures. They hoped they could have the power, too.
However,in western countries, people think differently about dragons. In
the West, there is a bad dragon. It has seven heads and eats babies!
Western dragons look like dinosaurs. They have wings. In stories, they spit
out(吐出)fire and catch women. A man usually becomes famous after killing a dragon.
Because of this, some Chinese experts have suggested changing the English word for Chinese dragons to “Loong”. They believe the word “dragon” makes western people think badly about China.

Teens want structure (精心组织) in their lives, which means they want their lives well-planned. To begin building structure, teens need love and trust. They need to know their parents are there to give them needed love and support. Teens want to be sure that nothing can prevent parents from shouldering their responsibility for them — not their growing maturity (成熟), misbehavior, nor anger at something they have done. Teens want parents to keep control while allowing them to make some decisions.
There are some ways you can help your teens create reasonable structure and remain close. One way is to spend time together. Parents often mistake their teens’ increased interest in friends for disinterest in the family.
Teens would like to spend more time doing things with their parents, but watching TV is not counted as spending time together. As your teens mature, it is important for you and your teens to spend time alone together, one to one. Your teens need time to talk to you alone without any other family member present.
Talk with your teens about their interests and concerns. Make sure you really show interest in what is happening. When talking with your teens, give full attention and do not stop them.
The way to help your teens become adults is to let your teens into your world. Sharing your emotions and concerns with your teens is important. Avoid causing needless worry.
Trust your teens. Don’t expect the worst. Hope for the best. Telling your teens you don’t like their friends will cause the teens not to bring their friends home. If something should go wrong, believe that your teens didn't do it on purpose.
It is very important that you treat your teens with respect. Teens need the same respect adults show for total strangers. Don't talk down to your teens.
You need to be supportive of your teens. What may be a small problem to you may be troubling to your teens. Teens don’t have the experiences that adults have had. Let the teens know that you understand how much it hurts when something happens that is upsetting or hurtful to them. As they mature, they can look back at some problems they had and laugh at having been upset by something that now seems unimportant.
The most important things to remember are: talk with your teens, listen to their worries and offer suggestions when needed. This will help your teens to live a well-organized life.
51.According to Paragraph 1, teens .
A. can control themselves B. expect direction and freedom
C. don't know how to make decisions D. don't have responsibility for the family
52.The underlined phrase "counted as" in Paragraph 3 probably means .

Our lives are made up of our habits, the things that we do often and almost without thinking. They are often things that are hard to stop doing. Good habits make us happy and bad habits don’t. For example, we may think eating too much junk food makes us happy but, in the future, we will be sad. Developing good habits will help us love our lives.
To form a good habit, a goal is needed. There are many habits we may want to have, like doing more exercise. Make sure your goal is accurate, for example, to run a race in six months’ time. Start small. Don’t try and do too much immediately. You might give up. Remember that the journey of 1,000 miles begins with one single step! Start with an action so small that you can’t say no. For example, run for just three minutes every day. It seems silly, but the important thing is to repeat the action and not stop! Be patient and don’t expect success immediately.
