always总是;also也;still仍然;already已经。根据“As a small child, I was very selfish (自私的).” 故选A。
根据“I was always alone.”

our我们的;this这个;my我的;their他们的。根据“Because eggs were hard to come by those days, I chose the bowl with an egg! To…surprise, my father’s bowl of noodles had two eggs at the bottom of the bowl!”可知,此处是作者本人的感受,to one’s surprise“令某人感到惊讶的”,one’s需用与主语I对应的形容词性物主代词my,构成To my surprise,符合语境。
根据“The next day, my father again cooked two bowls of noodles; one with an egg on the top and the other with no eggs on the top.
lay out展示;pass by经过;depend on依赖;look up to尊敬。
When当…… 根据“he asked me to choose, I made a quick decision”可知,此处表示时间上的承接,“当让我选择的时候,我做了决定”,用When引导时间状语从句。故选A。
from来自;with和……一起;of……的;for为了。根据“‘Dad, you choose first. You do the most…our family,’ I said.”可知,此处表达“为家庭做的最多”,do sth for sb/sth“为某人做某事”,for“为了”符合语境。故选D。
