When I turned 12,I started hiding how I looked with jackets and oversized T-shirts for fear of
comments about my body.I wouldn't talk about things I loved because I was afraid that people would
think I was odd for liking them or that I was talking too much.
At the age of 14,I'd had what I now know were panic attacks over grades in the middle of the
hallways in school,or in loud, crowded queues in theme parks. This led to some long talks with my
parents and failed meetings with my school advisors, and I eventually decided it was time for me to try
mental therapy(治疗).
I still remember going to my first therapy session, almost four years ago. Before I went to it,I
feared it'd be scary, but I was wrong. The first few sessions were just used for the two of us to get to
know each other. The following few sessions were used for me to figure out why I was there.I tested
fairly high on the anxiety scale, and ever since then I've kept going there. Two years later,I started
going there every two weeks rather than every week.My anxiety levels have gone up and down because of
exams, issues with friends and just plain old bad days. For now though, they seem to remain stable for
the most part.
To this day,I still think that going to therapy was one of the best decisions I've made so far in life.
From the first session that I attended to the last one I went to,I've learned so many life skills and coping
strategies that I use at least once a week.
I've always said to my friends and family that they should try therapy if it's necessary. For people
suffering panic attacks, going to therapy means talking to someone who you know won't judge you about
anything, who won't tell anyone about what you say or how you feel, and who helps you understand
yourself and your life.
24.What was the author's problem when she was 12?
A.She would run into anxiety easily.

A.They helped find the cause of her panic attacks.
B.They failed to help her get out of her trouble.
C.They strongly advised her to see a doctor.
D.They lost patience with her.
26.What can we know about the author's therapy according to paragragh 3?
A.It had a negative side influence on the author.
B.It strengthened the author's confidence quickly.

Black Myth:Wukong is one of the most highly anticipated Chinese video games ever,a premium title

"AAA"title,a big-budget,global game with sophisticated gameplay and advanced visuals.
Within hours of its release, there were more than 1.5 million people playing it on Steam, making it
the No.1 game on the online platform.Black Myth:Wukong is adapted from the 16th-century Chinese
classic novel Journey to the West. The game's main character is inspired by Sun Wukong, also known as
the Monkey King, who battles opponents with a magic iron bar.
China's video game industry is dominated by titles played on smartphones, not big-budget consoles
(or PC games that are released globally. However,Black Myth:Wukong marks a shift as it is
being initially released on Sony's PlayStation 5 and personal computers. In recent years, the industry in
China has faced significant challenges. The government has implemented strict regulations to control
gaming due to concerns that children could become addicted and negatively influenced. For example,
Beijing has introduced rules that prohibit young people from playing games online on school days and set
strict time limits on gaming during weekends and holidays.
But the game's launch lit up national pride. One Chinese media outlet noted that the game's default
language is Chinese and added,"It feels so good."The global interest in the game also highlighted
China's push to exercise its "soft power".The novel that it is based on is considered one of China's four
great classics. The game also describes important cultural landmarks throughout China.
"The success of Black Myth:Wukong is not only a victory for the gaming industry, but also an

owned newspaper,wrote in an article.

Recently, campaigners have encouraged us to buy local food. This reduces "food miles",that is,
the distance food travels from the producer to the shop owner. They reason that the higher the food miles,
the more carbon emissions.
However, the real story is not as simple as that.In fact, imported food often has a lower carbon
footprint than locally grown food.Take apples, for example. The local apples the British buy in winter or
spring have been kept refrigerated for months, and this uses a lot of energy. In spring, therefore,it is
more energy-saving to import them from New Zealand, where they are in season.Heating also uses a lot
of energy, which is why growing tomatoes in heated greenhouses in the UK is less environmentally
friendly than importing them from Spain, where the crop grows well in the local climate.
We must also take into account the type of transport.Transporting food by air creates more
emissions. However, only a few goods are flown to the consumer country, and these are usually high-
value,short-lived items which we cannot produce locally.Even then, these foods may not have a higher
carbon footprint than locally grown food. For example, beans flown in from Kenya are grown in sunny
fields using natural fertilizers, unlike in Britain, where we use oil-based fertilizers and machinery.
Also,a product's journey does not end at the supermarket.Driving a long way to shop for food will
neutralize any environmental benefits of buying locally grown produce.Furthermore, choosing local over
imported food can also badly affect people in developing countries. If they are unable to sell produce
overseas,they will have less income.
Recently, some supermarkets have been trying to raise awareness of food miles by labeling foods to
show they have been imported by air.But the message this gives is too simple.Lots of different factors
contribute to a food's carbon footprint. And even if we only buy local food which is currently in season,
there are ethical (problems. What's more, our diets would be more limited.
32.Why should the British buy imported apples according to the author?
A.It reduces food miles.
B.It benefits the local farmers.
C.It is less energy-consuming.
D.It is less costly and more convenient.
33.What can we infer about the foods transported by air?
A.They are grown using oil-based fertilizers.B.They can be mass-produced locally.
C.They have a low carbon footprint.D.They fail to have a long shelf life.
34.What does the underlined word "neutralize"in paragraph 4 probably mean?
A.Cancel out.B.Result in.
C.Contribute to.
D.Concentrate on.
35.What does the author think of labeling foods?
A.It will help people to shop ethically.B.It does not tell a full and accurate story.
C.It will raise environmental awareness.D.It does not give correct product information.

you acknowledge how beautiful life is.

you have used the right words, and your friend starts feeling better?Or when a stranger smiles back at

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Ava,a fifth-grader,longed for a cell phone like her peers but had to wait until she was thirteen. To
persuade her parents, she penned an essay, demonstrating she was mature enough for a cell phone. Her
parents,impressed,gave her an old phone.
"Ava,"her dad said seriously,"a cell phone isn't just for fun and games. It's a significant
responsibility. You must keep your phone secure. You must silence it in public spaces. You must..."
He listed all of the ways that she had to be responsible with her phone. But Ava,too busy with choosing
the perfect wallpaper, downloading apps, and chatting with her best friend Sarah, only half-listened.
Over the weekend,Sarah's mom took the girls to a movie.Normally Ava avoided horror films, but
Sarah's pleading words with funny memes (had somehow convinced Ava that the movie might
actually be enjoyable. Before the movie started,Sarah's mom instructed the girls to silence their phones
out of respect for others. As the movie's tension built,Ava found herself growing increasingly
uncomfortable."I need to go to the bathroom,Ava whispered to Sarah.
After the movie, while waiting for Sarah's mom to fetch the car,Ava felt a sinking feeling."I can't
find my phone!"she shrieked, patting down all of her pockets.Panic-stricken,Ava searched her bag,
yet her phone seemed to have vanished.Ava got into the car,her stomach in knots.
"Are you going to tell your parents?"Sarah whispered to Ava on their ride back.Ava was silent,
her mind racing with the consequences. She could envision her parents'disappointed faces and harsh
words. She feared that this incident might lead to her parents taking away the privilege of having a phone
altogether.
As they arrived,Ava climbed out of the car and trudged home, her heart heavy with what had
happened.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答。
The moment Ava walked in,her parents greeted her with a smile.
Then her parents drove Ava back to the cinema.
