What is the most memorable travel experience you have had? What was special about it?
lead
In pairs, discuss the following questions.
Discussion
My most memorable travel experience is my summer holiday visit to Chaka Salt Lake, the "Mirror of the Sky". The trip started off with a three-hour flight from Nanjing to Xining and ended with a four-hour train ride to the lake. My eyes were not prepared for the breathtaking natural beauty of the scenic area—giant salt sculptures scattered along the lakeside. I was truly in awe of the artworks Mother Nature created with salt and brine deposits.
lead
In pairs, discuss the following questions.
Discussion
My family and I decided to stay until the sun set, and we were not disappointed. The sight of the setting sun reflected on the lake was captured in my heart forever. We were advised to wrap up like zongzi, so that no single area of our bodies would be exposed to the harmful UV rays. The special “dress code” resulted in some very humorous photographs with my family. I am happy I had the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery of a place in my country. I will never forget my trip to Chaka Salt Lake.
