①Driving coaches might soon be joining the list of jobs to be replaced by AI in the near future. A company in China has developed an AI-powered driving coach called Robo Coach, and it’s already being used in driving schools.
②Unluckily, Robo Coach is not a humanlike robot that sits next to you and complains about your driving skills. The digital driving coach developed by Beijing Yi Jia Jia Technology is actually a teaching and safety control system.
③The other ways in which Robo Coach differs from human driving coaches are even more amusing, though. Robo Coach will call you “mommy” or “daddy”.
④Besides voice, the system uses a dashboard (仪表盘) screen and a smart rearview mirror (后视镜) to communicate with the learner. Robo Coach uses sensors (传感器) to stop if the car runs into something or increases speed suddenly for no reason, similar to how self-driving cars work.
⑤The Robo Coach has more than 40 different sensors on the car to notice people, other cars and roads. It communicates with learners and helps decision making and instructions. And to make faster decision making, the car is also provided with radar systems (雷达系统)
⑥The system isn’t just keeping new drivers from meeting accidents. It also collects information on the learner’s driving behavior and even body position. It studies these driving habits in real time to see if the learner is too traditional or easy to be angry during practice and changes its teaching style. By recording all the problems a learner runs into during lessons, the system aims to help the new driver correct past mistakes and prevent new ones.
⑦The Robo Coach is now being used in five driving instruction centers owned by Yi Jia Jia’s parent company as well as 22 other driving schools across China.
9. What’s the similar meaning of the underlined “_______” phrase in Paragraph ②?

D. The Robo Coach will sit next to you and help you correct your driving skills.

C. To suggest we prepare for the idea that AI coaches will help learners in the future.
D. To show us the fact that AI coaches are being used in some driving schools across China.

A group of students from Tianjin found a very common problem among young people. Most of them know little about how to choose jobs in the future, and they can get little help from schools or family.
To offer them helpful advice on careers, the students from a school in Tianjin started a project. “Our survey shows that 72% of the students want to know about different jobs. Doctors, accountants (会计) and teachers are the top three,” said Wang Xinran, the project leader.
According to the students’ needs, the team interviewed 32 excellent workers with different jobs and put their interviews on the Internet. These workers shared true stories behind each job, and the stories helped the students learn about the jobs further.
“We also invited the workers to give speeches in our school. In this way, the students could have a chance to talk to them face to face,” said Wang.
Team member Lu Jinyan said, “I used to think being a photographer (摄影师) was fantastic and romantic (浪漫的). Now I realize that photographers need to deal with lots of problems, such as sudden changes in the weather or broken cameras. They also need to communicate with different people. This is not easy.”
But the project doesn’t mean to make the students disappointed by telling them the truth. “We want to show the workers’ love and spirits of never giving up instead of the bad sides,” said another group member. “We believe working isn’t just for bread and butter. It should be like a poem, full of love and beauty. And we hope our project can let the students know that.”
13. Why did the team start the project?
A. To provide useful career information for teenagers.
B. To turn the students’ dream jobs into beautiful poems.
C. To deal with problems the students may meet at home.
D. To help the students communicate with different people.
14. What did the team invite the workers to their school for?
A. Teaching working skills. B. Communicating directly.
C. Making plans for the students. D. Asking the students to study well.
15. What did the project member Lu Jinyan use to think of being a photographer?
A. Wonderful and romantic. B. Hard and boring.
C. Rich and romantic. D. Cool and interesting.
16. What’s the passage mainly about?
A. An interview made by a reporter for students to relax.
B. A speech given by a teacher for students to do more housework.
C. A project made by a team for students to learn about different jobs.
D. A story told by a worker for students to know the importance of being honest.

This may sound very common in your school life. Is it just an excuse to leave class or is it true? We don’t know. But it does worry a lot of teachers. For example, some schools in the UK have taken actions like locking the toilet to stop this. Anita Ellis, a head teacher, told BBC that going to the restroom in class can influence the study of others. This shows her support for the actions. However, it caused a heated discussion online. Some people have different opinions and give their reasons.

The bell had just gone off. Our math teacher was sweating, trying to explain how to solve the difficult math problem when Jack slowly raised his hand. I thought he would like to share with the whole class a simpler way to solve the problem. However, he just wanted to go to the restroom. It’s just 5 minutes after the bell rang.
________
Yes!
No!
1. If students are told not to go, they may get into an argument with teachers.
2. Students have the right (权利) to do this. Though they are students, their rights also need to be protected.
...
1. Students should learn to manage their time and use their many break times properly so they don’t have to leave in class.
2. Students may learn to use it as an excuse to leave class.
...
41. Did Jack raise his hand to give a way to solve the math problem?

43. What can be put in the “________” as the debate (辩题)?
________________________________________________
44. Which side are you on “Yes” side or” No” side? And why? (more than 30 words)

【答案】41. No.
42. By telling BBC that going to the restroom in class can influence the study of others.
43. Should students be allowed to go to the restroom in class?/Should students go to the restroom in class?/Should teachers allow students to go to the restroom in class?
44. I support the “No” side because students should learn to manage their time and use break times properly. Frequent bathroom breaks disrupt class and may become an excuse to avoid learning.

Should students be allowed to go to the restroom in class?/Should students go to the restroom in class?/Should teachers allow students to go to the restroom in class?
